We enjoyed our time with Ilona. She was very knowledgeable and took her responsibilities as a tour guide very seriously. Both in communicating ahead of time and day of our tour, Ilona took the time to discover what we were interested and incorporated that into her remarks. While our tour was the Gaudi tour, I appreciated that Ilona incorporated the history and background that led to Catalunyan Modernisme, as well as showed us and talked about architecture by others from that time period. Ilona gave us the right amount of information, not overwhelming us without too much detail yet making sure we understood the most important points. While on our cruise, we realized we had 3.5 hours after we disembarked in Barcelona before we needed to check in for our flight. After an awesome Barcelona pre-cruise food tour with Vicky, we decided we wanted her to pick us up at the Cruise Port, see some more of Barcelona and then drop us off at the airport. Vicky developed an itinerary with the cost, emailed it to me for approval and then she and the driver picked us up at the Cruise Port. Another awesome tour of a wonderful city with a rich history, culture and food. We stopped and toured around the Olympic Village and walked along the beach. We stopped at a noted Paella restaurant for a very tasteful lunch. After taking a post lunch walk and visiting two Chocolate stores, it was time to head to the airport. Highly recommend that you engage Vicky in any tour that she leads! She has become family and we can’t wait to visit Barcelona again to have her show us more highlights. We had an unforgettable time at Montserrat with Ivanna. This was our second time booking a tour with her and it’s always a pleasure. The ride up the mountain was great, she had the foresight to ask if I was afraid of heights (which I am!) and made accommodations to avoid using the cable car. The monastery is awesome and surroundings are beautiful. Ivanna made sure we didn’t miss any detail. The ride back to town seemed to go by in a flash with stories from Ivanna’s local knowledge. We expected more. Ilona was really very,very friendly But unfortunately the tour was a little bit uninspired and boring. My wife and I were in Barcelona for three days following a 2-week Mediterranean cruise, and we had no plans in place. I found Ivanna on the "With Locals" website... it was somewhat last-minute, but thankfully she was available. Our 4-hour personal tour was excellent. She started by showing us (and teaching us about) the sights and architecture around La Rambla. She even showed us a "hidden" Roman wall that most people - including many who live in Barcelona - were unaware of. As she learned more about our interest in the culture, people, and history, she walked us through the old, and new, sections of the city. She pointed out architectural points, even explaining that one of the most famous churches in the Gothic district wasn't actually original to that time, even though it looks like it should be - and she had photos to prove it! She gave us history lessons, told us stories, and helped us to "feel" the city we were visiting. We stopped for a drink at one of her favorite locations - Els 4 Cats - where Picasso used to meet with his friends... and then she was kind enough to introduce us to the owner and surprised us with reservations for dinner there the next night. Bottom line, Ivanna offered us not only the best private tour we've ever experienced, she shared herself and her love of the city with us... she was wonderful. If you're looking for a personal approach, look no further. Hire Ivanna without reservation - you'll be very glad you did.Best personal tour we've ever had!

We loved the walking food tour with our guide. We were a family of 4, with an 11-year-old child. She made it fun and interesting for all of us. We learned about the history of Barcelona and saw some interesting things along the way to the restaurants, like a folk festival with dancing and a band, and a parade as well. The tapas we got to pick out at the restaurant were enough to count as a meal. The dessert we had at the restaurant next door was heavenly!Great food tour in Barcelona!
