Venice is a dream at any hour, but there’s something truly special about discovering it at sunrise. Join me at 6:45 AM in St. Mark’s Square, where the golden light begins to touch the domes of the Basilica and the Campanile. With hardly anyone else around, you’ll experience this famous square the way locals do—quietly and without the usual rush.

We’ll continue toward the Grand Canal to find a tranquil spot where the sunrise over the water creates a picture-perfect view. The reflections on the canal, the gentle sounds of a waking city, and the fresh morning air make this a truly unforgettable moment.

From there, we’ll wind our way through Venice’s narrow alleyways and quiet backstreets. Without the crowds, you’ll be able to take in the details and rhythm of the city that are so easily missed during the day. We’ll head toward the Rialto area and pause at a favorite local café for a cappuccino—just as the city begins to stir.

We booked a private 3 hour tour for a family of 4. I thought I knew quite a bit about Venetian history and culture, but was pleased that Elisabetta informed us of so much more about the former Republic’s past and present. My husband and I had been to Venice before, but this time we brought our young children and wanted to learn more about the city and do something that children would enjoy rather than just walking from shop to shop. Elisabetta was wonderful. She was so kind and warmhearted and easy to get along with. It felt like we had been friends for years. We are not big tour group people. And we only had 2 full days in Venice. This was the BEST 4 hours within our month-long trip in Italy. Elizabetta picked us up at our Airbnb, and we walked to Saint Mark square, got priority entrances into Doges Palace highlights. We were able to take view photos from high up, and loved the pace.
