We had a wonderful time as a family learning how to make authentic Neapolitan pizzas with Gennaro. He took us to his friend Vincenzo’s Pizza Bar, who has been making pizza since in the womb!! We learnt how to make the dough from scratch, including how to activate the yeast and mix and knead the dough perfectly. We then learnt how to prepare the ingredients with vital tips we never knew. We had lots of fun learning how to push the dough into shape - it’s such an art, and we can’t wait to do it at home. Afterwards we pulled the uncooked pizzas onto the paddle and watched them go into the 450 degrees C oven, and then sat down to enjoy them afterwards - with a Peroni beer of course! They were absolutely delicious!! Thank you to Gennaro for such a fun afternoon - we laughed so much, and our pizza making session was the perfect break from touring all day. We also did another 2 yours with Gennaro in Naples (City Tour and 10 tastings of Naples) and we can’t recommend him enough. He’s kind, funny, generous, knowledgeable and incredibly passionate about the city of Naples. Gennaro also asked us to contact him at any time with questions we may have. Our pizza-making experience with Gennaro was unforgettable. We had a group of eight of us on our historical walking tour and pizza-making class with Gennaro. I can't express how incredible our experience was! In all, we spent four hours with Gennaro, first with a walking tour of the Old Town, where we learned about the millenia of history that make Naples what it is today. We had two kids in our group, ages 10 and 12, and Gennaro did an exceptional job of making sure they followed everything and were involved in every detail (like when we went into a special shop that makes very unique Neapolitan nativities out of cork) and had all their questions answered. We learned about the historical gates of the city and went to the old fish and food market street. It seemed like everywhere we went, everyone knew Gennaro! He was kind, fun, and took every details into consideration and control, which was great in a city as busy and sometimes overwhelming as Naples! There are so many words that I can use to describe how amazing the pizza-making class was at Gennaro's apartment, but here are just a few: delicious, special, memorable, fun. I would take that class again! We all learned so much and enjoyed every moment of it. In all, I can't recommend Gennaro highly enough. Your group will enjoy your time with him! And we thank Gennaro for helping us with details that made our day in Naples even easier, such as helping to manage our luggage storage and transport. First of all, Gennaro is the experience! He has a charismatic and playful personality which lended well to being our pizza teacher. We started in the market and he talked through this history of the tomatoes and produce we were seeing and the history of Naples. He is a true local and knows the best places to eat and shop. This experience exceeded our expectations and will be a memory we will take with us our entires lives. It was hands on and we were not only connecting with Gennaro, but also Vincenzo the pizza master in a real Pizzeria Napoletana making true World Unesco grade Pizza Napoletana. What makes pizza different in the place where it was born? Find out in just a few hours by letting Gennaro walk you through each step, including visiting the outdoor market for some ingredients (and recommendations for where to eat later in your trip). Due to some technical difficulties, we did our pizza making in an actual pizzeria kitchen in their off hours. In a way, it was a bonus, because we had both Gennaro and Vicenzo, a pizza master making pizzas in his family's restaurant. It was wonderfully fun, and the Pizza we made was delicious! We learned the extra details of how to properly knead the dough, how to properly measure out ingredients for the correct ratio, and the secret to making the sauce just right. Afterward, Gennaro sent photos and video he took, as well as the instructions so we can do our best to replicate it at home, at least as well as our paltry home oven can handle. We had a wonderful adventure with Gennaro. Wow! What an amazing time we had with Gennaro exploring and tasting our way through Napoli! We sampled pastries and fried spaghetti and fresh fish from the market and our very own homemade pizza! It’s very difficult to put into words our tour with Gennaro, as I was quite moved by the end of it. Gennaro highlighted the complexities of this incredible city as he guided us around. He sees the city from the eyes of a local, but also from the eyes of an outsider, thanks to time he also spends away from Naples. He explained Naples’ history, how it developed, and how it works today. We walked the main streets, wandered the Spanish Quarter and also took the Funicular to see a truly amazing view of sprawling Naples. We are history enthusiasts that were keen to have a more detailed tour of Naples & its founding origins. Gennaro was charming, relaxed and comprehensive with our tour, accommodating my wife’s inability to walk long distances ( with frequent breaks at cafes.) Gennaro covered not just the written history but frequent anecdotes about historical figures and their influence in the city’s formation. Gennaro is an entertaining conversationalist. What a fantastic tour. Gennaro is warm, genuine, knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He loves sharing his hometown of Napoli, not as a tour, but rather an experience. I felt like walking through a new town with a dear friend, whom we knew only for a few hours. The 3-hour tour flew by as we sampled some of Napoli’s famous foods… mozzarella, cuoppo, taralli, pasta, sfogliatelle, limoncello, espresso and, of course, pizza. Tge food on its own was spectacular, but Gennaro made this a truly special experience. One I will remember for and Cheri’s for the rest of my life. Thank you Gennaro. Good communication with Gennaro who offered to take us from our hotel in Pompeii to Ravello. A good organiser and we did all we wanted without stress. We had coffee in a cafe near a car park in Positano and walked around without too many steps involved! He found a great restaurant by the sea in Amalfi and dropped us off, right by it. A good, safe driver, fun to be with and we enjoyed his company. He managed to find olive oil for me to taste & buy and on a photo stop, we experienced an engagement! A great day. We wanted to do a private food tour in Naples and after reading reviews online we went with Gennaro for the 10 Tastings and we were not disappointed! He is knowledgeable with the history of Naples and its authentic foods. He is very patient and very considerate to one of our friends was having some knee issues. The food was excellent and we were quite satisfied at the end. We got to watch them make our pizza, it was sooo good!!! not to be missed. We loved our time with Gennaro - he is such a warm person with a huge amount of knowledge of not only food in Naples but also its history and culture. We had our 9 year old son on the tour and Gennaro kept him completely engaged (which is a hard thing to do), without ever talking down to him. The food was great and portions were so generous that we couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. We would highly recommend Gennaro’s tours to others. One of our favourite days in Italy

What a fabulous tour! Our group rated it as the highlight tour of our trip! Gennaro was great in sharing all his knowledge and showing us great spots to see. It was lovely spending time in Ravello but the best was of course goi g to Mario’s lemon orchard and having a fabulous lunch surrounded by lemons! Mario and his wife provided a super delicious meal and it was a treat to have his wine and of course his limoncello. Generous drove us gently up and down the mountain! Highly recommend!Superb experience!

Gennaro is a very kind and patient tour guide. I am somewhat of a slow walker and he was patient the entire tour. Thank you. Gennaro is a wealth of area knowledge and my husband and I learned so much from him. He showed us so many hidden gems and is a great driver to boot. Lunch was seaside with a wonderful view.
