My sister and I took the Kickstarter tour on our first night in Dublin. Even before our tour, Ruairi communicated with me and gave me great recommendations to maximize our time. We told him we wanted stories, not just pointing out buildings, and he delivered! We had a lovely tour ending at a proper Irish pub, where Ruairi shared a pint of Guinness and an extra hour of conversation with us. He remained available to us even days later, giving us tips for the next leg of our journey. I just wish we’d had time for the hidden gems tour. Ruairi is the best!

Nous avons fait un tour de Dublin avec Derek, qui était un guide sympathique et accessible. Il connaît bien l’histoire de la ville et du pays, en particulier les aspects religieux et politiques de l’Irlande. En tant qu’adultes, nous avons apprécié ses explications, même si certains passages étaient un peu complexes à suivre. En revanche, ce tour n’était pas vraiment adapté à nos enfants de 10 et 4 ans. L’approche très centrée sur l’histoire et la religion ne les a pas captivés. Ce serait peut-être mieux pour des ados. Cela dit, Derek est resté très aimable avec eux tout au long du parcours.

Derek was knowledgeable and personable. And patient since the rain and the traffic made us about 20 minutes late to our meeting point. The tour was a perfect intro to this magical and historic city, especially for folks like us who had only a short layover. Our family of five (three teenagers) booked Ruairi after reading his reviews, and the tour did not disappoint. Ruairi is a lifelong Dubliner and has extensive contextual knowledge of Dublin’s ancient and recent history. Not only did we visit and learn about major landmarks and events, Ruairi also shared stories and history that you’ll never read in any textbook. He has an excellent sense of humor and we laughed a lot. Ruairi also shared stories that kept our teenagers interested and even pointed out several shops/restaurants frequently by the rich and famous. Many of the shop keepers along the tour know Ruairi and it gave the tour an authentic personal touch. I can’t share all the highlights because we promised Ruairi we wouldn’t share any spoilers, but you will get a unique and special experience in Dublin on his tour. 10/10. We had a wonderfull time with our Tour gide, Eamon. It was our first time in Dublin so we did not know our way around. Within minutes Eamon showed us beautiful houses and hidden courtyards. My husband and I recently did a City Highlights Tour with Eamon and had a great experience. Eamon met us promptly and delivered an excellent tour on what turned out to be a very windy and cold day in Dublin. It’s clear that Eamon knows the city very well and we found him to be very warm and engaging. It was a very nice lesson in Irish history and a wonderful way to introduce us to Dublin. Eamon also emailed us ahead of time with a list of his personal recommendations for things to do around the city which was very much appreciated.
