We had a great time with Naoki. He was so knowledgeable and his information and passion was clear from the get-go! We enjoyed some wonderful kushikatsu at the beginning of our tour and then made our way through Namba to Dotonbori. We were shown both a Shinto and Buddhist shrine and educated about the difference between the two. Naoki accompanied us on the subway back towards our hotel and even helped us find a restaurant for dinner after. Cannot recommend him highly enough! Great, informative evening!

What a pleasure it was to tour various Osaka neighborhoods and sample local specialties with an interesting, kind and engaging Osaka native. Naoki steered us through the market where we tried fugu, and to simple and authentic local restaurants specializing in cabbage pancakes, octopus fritters and kashi-katsu (panko-breaded skewers). It was all delicious. He shared his knowledge and personal experience of Buddhist and Shinto beliefs and practices, and of what makes Osaka special and how it got this way. He ably accommodated our shopping requests on the fly, too. What made Naoki a truly outstanding guide was not just his expertise and comfortable communication skills, but his ability to exude compassion and patience in all interactions, quickly making everyone at ease with him. Naoki’s enthusiasm for Osaka was infectious, and as a result our day was filled with delicious food, laughter, and spectacular views. Our whole family (two high-schoolers and two college students) enjoyed our time with him very much and would strongly recommend him to other families.

Hiromi was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly and energetic and knowledgeable. She was incredibly flexible with our changes to the tour and was quick to offer many options that might appeal to us. When we deviated from what we had discussed prior to meeting, she rolled with the punches perfectly and made every bit of the tour excellent and memorable. Even when asked to do something completely different she was immediately on board and did not hesitate to continue giving excellent information about every nuance and historical detail about where we were and what we were seeing. She was completely unfazed that it was raining and continued giving her all despite the weather. I cannot recommend her highly enough! If you have a chance to take a tour with Hiromi, you absolutely must! She is a treasure! I hope that we can come back and have another tour with her! Absolutely Terrific Tour!

Naoki was such an amazing guide! He met us with a huge smile and showed us the exciting food stalls of Shisekai and Dotonbori. Naoki was very considerate of my hubby's slower pace and told us interesting facts and stories about each area. Naoki took us to a quiet acne serene temple in the middle of Dotonbori. He also offered to take many photos of us, which was a bonus, since we don't have many photos of the both of us. We had takoyaki, okonomiyaki and a refreshing drink at a delicious food establishment at the end of the tour. Naoki even took us to Osaka station and ensured we knew how to get back to our hotel in Kobe before parting ways. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Naoki and will refer him to our friends and family, and will request him on our next visit to Japan. Awesome tour with Naoki : )

Naoki came to our hotel so we didn’t have to figure out how to get to him. The royal treatment from the start! He was so friendly and really knowledgeable about his city. We loved getting to know Osaka with him and learning the traditions for entering the various shrines. This was actually super useful for our remaining days in the area when we visited other shrines and temples. At the end he got us a reservation at a great restaurant for okonomiyaki. It was delicious! Thanks for everything Naoki! Fantastic host!

Naoki is an amazing tour guide for Osaka. It started even before the trip where we wanted to know more about the family. Naoki has grown up in Osaka and showed us an amazing time. Not only did he explain the history of each stop, but also talked about some his past experiences. Each restaurant we stopped at was amazing. From Takoyaki to Gyoza and more, each one was delicious. What my family found most impressive was his attentiveness. It happened to be hot and Naoki catered the tour to make sure we didn't get too hot. Even though it was a a tasting tour, my family really loved how he shared Shinto and Buddhism beliefs in Japan. I highly recommend Naoki for an amazing experience in Osaka. Walking the city of Osaka with Hiromi was one of the highlights of our trip. She took us to many eateries we would not have found on our own and we tasted so many of Osakas famous dishes. We had a great time out with Ricky. He was able to explain some of the mysteries of what we had seen on our own in Japan. He very knowledgeable about the area we were touring as well as other cities we had visited. I admired the care he showed for locally owned businesses. I would say that this kind of tour’s success is really based on the person you choose to lead this tour as restaurant selection is really based on the personal opinion of your guide. Jessica was friendly but not originally from Japan. She took us to many local restaurants but the food was just ok. Where she came in handy was for general communication with the restaurant staff. We did eat lots of food that night so go on an empty stomach but I wouldn’t say it was the best food. We did get to try most of what was on our list but we had some line ups so be prepared for that as well. Lots of walking and subways to various areas. Not sure it is a must!Was just ok

Our group of five really enjoyed our time with Hiromi. From start to finish she took great care of us. We learned a lot about the history of each food item that we tried and honestly, the places we visited were all local places that we would never have found if left on our own. We were totally disappointed with the quality and food offered on 10 tastings of Osaka. We were hoping to gain an insight into Osaka cuisine instead we went to two tourist traps heaving with foreigners. The cost of the tour was expensive and the quality of the offerings did not match our expectations having read the website description. We were underwhelmed and felt we had been ripped off by with locals. Save your money and go with another company. Total Ripoff - dissatisfied

We had a lovely day with Maria, showing us around Osaka. And besides her great guiding and storytelling about the sights, I will highlight three things: First of all, she was very thoughtful, and she was engaging actively with our 3 kids throughout the tour. This made it a great experience for us all. Second of all, she was very agile and was happy to adjust the plan, depending on the change of mood - especially with the kids, she easily adjusted our plan, as our kids needed some free time to play at a local playground after we saw a beautiful shrine, and at Osaka Castle she guided us to a small shop where our boys could throw ninja stars, which was a big hit. Thats is why, lastly, I will highlight that Maria is a extremely family friendly guide. Only good things to say about Maria! She gave us a memorable day in Osaka! Very family friendly guide

Maria was so friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the food and cuisine culture of Osaka. She pointed out differences to other cities we visited and called out things we may be interested in trying. We walked around parts of the city that I don't think we'd have explored on our own so having. A guide to help up navigate (the city and the language) was very nice! We would have liked a bit more detailed history of Osaka as I called that out ahead of the tour and also asked on the tour but just got a high level description of Japan history that we were already familiar with. Maria did have a lot of fun and interesting facts about the markets and stalls we explored along the way! This was the highest price tour we did on our trip as we figured a private guide would be the best way to really eat like a local and from that perspective it was worth it.Ate so many tasty things!

Hiromi was a wonderful guide for the 10 tastings of Osaka we booked. She took us to eateries we wouldn't have found on our own which served wonderful food. We ate the best Sashimi of our time in Japan, drank Hiromi's favorite sparkling Sake and had the last stuffed buns (I forgot the name) of the day. She told us about the food, her life and Osaka in general. It was overall a very nice experience, and we where stuffed at the end of the night. Hiromi listend to our preferences and ended the tour with recommendations for drinks. A recommendation for sure. Thanks Hiromi 🙏Great taste in Osaka

We had the pleasure of joining a food tour with Hiromi, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. She took us to a variety of local spots, some of which we would have never discovered on our own. A few places looked a little unconventional at first, but turned out to serve the best food we had during our stay—especially the sashimi, which was hands down the best of our entire trip! We went on a tour of Osaka castle with Maria, and she was very knowledgeable.
