Eric’s chocolate tasting was the first item on the agenda in our first day in Brussels, and it was absolutely perfect. He has incredible knowledge that encompasses both the history of Brussels and the history of the fantastic chocolates we were eating. Our family got to know the city through a delicious means, and Eric was charming, accommodating, and flexible. We did a chocolate and history tour of Brussels with Eric. He was very knowledgeable and fun. We were able to take our time tasting chocolate, browsing and purchasing the chocolate, and he always took time to answer questions. We were first time travelers to Brussels and just came for the day on the Eurostar from Paris. Our group of six wanted a guided tour of historic Brussels and Thiago was everything we expected and more. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. I must say I’d been a little worried as I’d booked and paid for this tour last December with a different guide , and on me writing to confirm with him a few days before out tour had him reply that he would no longer being doing it…… He recommended Tiago for us and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better morning. My partner and I recently had the pleasure of taking a walking tour of Brussels with a local guide named Eric, and it was truly a highlight of our trip. Our day in Flanders with Eric was a wonderful way to end our Belgium holiday. Eric made certain that we were able to visit the sites that were most meaningful to us including a stop at the American Cemetery and a drive through the countryside ridges where my great uncle John fought and was wounded. Thankfully my uncle came home, but it was so important to us to pay tribute to all of the young men that did not. Eric's expertise of the events and places that defined WWI gave us a keen appreciation for the sacrifices and bravery of the soldiers that lived it. We enjoyed lunch in a local restaurant where Eric went out of his way to help us order the best local foods including fries, Belgium stew, and of course Belgium beer! We even swapped stories about our favorite leek soup recipes. The tour far exceeded our expectations. Thank you Eric for providing us with memories of our time in Flanders that we will long remember. Eric was knowledgable and enjoyed the subject. Good company too. I had a lot of questions as I already knew quite a lot about the chyronology of the battle - or thought I did ! Seeing the topography and putting the chronology into context was a salutary experience. Extraordinary to visit there alone. Nevermind the main battle site. Still can't quite fathom the French obsession (a costly one) with Hougoumont. A bit late to ask Napoleon now. Well worth the time spent looking at the whole site and gleaning Eric's knowledge to complement my perception.Ask Eric Anything
