Arun gave us a great bicycle tour of Amsterdam. We got to see a lot of different parts of the city, and he told us a lot about the history as we made various stops along the way. OUR Bike ride was amazing and our tour guide, Arunabha, was incredible. We needed to go later than expected and he was willing to accomodate us as well and allow us to bring our friends at just the cost of the rental of bikes. Took a private bike tour with Arun. We are on a Viking Tour leaving Amsterdam at midnight. We arrived in the city at noon and really wanted to see the museums AND do a bike tour, but most places have bike tours only in midday. Arun was willing to host our 3-hour tour at 5:30, so that we could go to the museums until they close at 5. This is great because the summer evenings don’t get dark until 10pm. He met us at Star Bikes which is only a 2 min walk from where our Viking Cruise is docked and very close walk from the Central Train Station. He took us all over the city, and the pace was just right for some moderately fit 50 something’s. He would stop every 5 or 10 min and give us some history or fun facts about what we were seeing. He has a patient, pleasant manner. We enjoyed our time thoroughly, and he even pointed us to some good restaurants at the end of the tour. Highly recommend if you have time!!Great way to see Amsterdam

Really enjoyable couple of hours with Arunabha, his knowledge of Amsterdam was impeccable, this included in depth knowledge of the Architecture, the people and there place in history, especially around the second world war. Cycling in Amsterdam will always be a challenge but the route he took was thankfully not too busy, we had asked for him to consider the riding ability of my wife and he did indeed tailor it to suit, as it turns out we would have actually liked to cycle a bit more as it was very cold during the frequent stops. The fries were very nice and helped to warm us up. Thanks Arunabha.Really knows the History of Amsterdam

My husband and I took the canal tour ride with Arun. We have been to Amsterdam before, but Arun took us to several places that we had not seen and were on my list of places to see. I also really enjoyed sampling fries at a 'the' local place. Arun is very knowledgeable about local facts and we found this interesting. That said, I found riding a bike through the crowded streets of Amsterdam a bit treacherous. One of the first places we rode was by Central Station, where there were hundreds of bike riders--seemingly coming right at us. I felt ill-prepared for that part of the bike ride and found it more terrifying than enjoyable. The rest of the ride was easier to navigate, but you must ride with caution through the busy streets.Adventure on a bike

Simply excellent. All the logistics were a piece of cake: where to meet, hiring the bikes etc. Arunahba adapted the tour to meet what we wanted to do - a bit of everything really - and gave us a great overview of the history and geography of Amsterdam. My husband and I took a bike tour with Arunabha in and around Amsterdam. We loved traveling to the outskirts of the city center on our bikes...along the canal to the countryside that surrounds the city. It was absolutely beautiful! Arunabha was a very interesting guide, speaks several languages, is incredibly intelligent and had lots of wonderful information to share with us. I would recommend Arunabha to anyone for any of the tours he does. We wish we would have more time in Amsterdam so we could have joined him on a walking tour as well! Awesome day!

We were met at the airport by Arunabha.We had arranged for him to be our tour guide for a full day in Amsterdam. From the very beginning of communication in planning our day,Arunabha was prompt and very flexible and I could tell he was really professional. We were not disappointed when we met Arunabha and had a wonderful day exploring Amsterdam with him. Amsterdam is a beautiful city and having a personal local tour guide only helps when your exploring for the first time.Arunabha immediately made all the members of my family,my wife,I and our 2 teenagers comfortable and started sharing his passion and insight for the city he calls home. He is very calm,extremely knowledgeable and has good insight regarding Amsterdam rich history. He was patient thought out the trip and also extremely flexible while allowing my wife and kids some extra time to explore and see things. We started out with a 3 hr bike tour,3 hr walking tour and went to the museums.A full day made better by having Arunabha with us. Arunabha is a excellent tour guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone whom is considering visiting Amsterdam.He will take good care of you and ensure all of your needs and requests are looked after. Wow, what an incredibly knowledgeable guide Arunabha is. There are no facets about the red light district that he does not know. Arunabha provided a vast amount of information on the history of Amsterdam, Netherlands, vis a vis the invasion by Nazis and many perspectives on the resistance. He was knowledgeable about the role of the Dutch Empire and its impact on Indonesia and other former “colonies”. Thanks for a great tour.Informative tour, amazing.

We didn’t know what to expect, especially since this was the first time we have used With Locals. From the beginning Aruna impressed us with his knowledge of Amsterdam. He knew small histories and delighted us with stories that you seldom hear during most tours. Every bite of food and drink came with a story that only added to the deliciousness. This walking tour was one of the best decisions I took when I visited Amsterdam. Arun is not just a super knowledgeable tour guide, he is a great and kind human being too. He explained the history, and the present of every area we covered in a way that made us feel like we know his city so well too, a solid base for the rest of the days we spent there. I would recommend you to take this tour on the day of landing in Amsterdam, that would really be an amazing kickstart to your vacation. It really felt like we got a friend for life, in a new city, after spending few hours with him. In a nutshell, I would say, we had gem of a guide and fabulous experience. Having a local tour guide removed the delay and frustration of having to figure out basic things in getting to where we wanted to go. It was great to have the stark contrast of a prior days trip where we needed to figure out how to get a ticket properly and missed an earlier train over it. When traveling with kids, these easy things are just not always that easy. To have that drama eliminated by meeting with Arunabha to walk us around, tell us the history of things, and then to end the tour with a food bites portion was amazing. He was helpful and fun with the kids. The local bites portion was an absolute highlight for our entire group. Arunabha knew just where to go, what was good, and in perfect portions. We would likely have never landed on any of the spots selected by chance, and certainly if we had, we would not have known what to order. I highly recommend a With Locals tour and plan to do it again! Absoulte highlight of the trip

Arunabha did an awesome job showing our group of 4 around the red light district despite the rainy weather and one of the members in our group being in a wheelchair. His knowledge of the history of the area definitely made this a very educational tour. This is a great way to really understand the cultural significance of the area. We were a party of 4 and had a fantastic tour with Arun at Keukenhof which is an amazing place! Arun arranged the public transportation, train and bus both very comfortable, and we traveled together arriving when the park opened. Thanks so much Arun for arranging an early start which allowed us to enjoy a good amount of time viewing the flowers without the crowds. He navigated our visit perfectly...made sure we visited the best parts of the park, shared lots of interesting information and gave us time to take photos while ensuring our group did not get separated once the park got busy. I had signed up for a tour with Arunabha, but at dinner the night before got a text from Vita saying she would be our tour guide. Vita was pleasant but not a great tour guide. She didn't speak loud enough and often walked ahead of us (facing forward) while talking which made it difficult to hear her. Her knowledge of what we saw seemed good, but she could have offered up more information. I felt like I needed to draw info out of her. She also was rushing us to leave our favorite part of the tour -- watching the saw powered by the windmill. I understand things come up, but no one ever told us what happened to Arunabha. For a tour of this price, I think we deserved an explanation or an option to reschedule. What we saw was good but the overall experience was just OK. I'd recommend the tour but not with Vita.Zaanse-Schans: I wish we had Arunabha

Thank you Arun for an amazing day in Amsterdam. We were a family of 4 who only had about 8 hours in Amsterdam. I messaged with Arun what all we wanted to do, vs booking multiple tours to try to achieve this. He took care of everything and put together a great itinerary that even my 12 and 14 year old daughters enjoyed. His knowledge of the city plus all the historical undertones and stories made for a memorable tour. His food stops were unique and delicious. We had a nice day, and covered most of central Amsterdam with Arunabha. We had asked for a tour from more of a cultural perspective. Arunabha was able to contextualize some of the things that we had seen in previous walks on our own and give us a an engaging, social history of the Netherlands. I don’t know how much he deviated from his normal talk for us, but we certainly saw some things that I don’t think we would have noticed or understood without him.
