The food tour that I took with Fusina was fine - she was friendly and we ate some good food. However, I'm not sure what value she really added. The logistics weren't well planned as several of the places she tried to take us were closed and whereas my favorite food tours have generally included information or stories about the food, city, and culture I didn't really get any of those here.Friendly, But Minimal

We had a great experience with Fusina. It was very easy to taste all kinds of Dutch treats and special foods. Our family really enjoyed the herring, French fries and waffle stops the most. I am chef and I love to get to know a country through its food, so when Fusina took us to the open-air market and we tasted such a variety of amazing foods, I was very happy. I love being able to talk about food and it’s role in the country’s economics for example, and Fusina seems to be well aware of all that is going on: from being in touch with farmers and promoting eating local to also knowing about the local wine industry and how it’s growing. I really appreciated her time with us and all the amazing treats we tried: croquettes, stroopwaffel, the cheese and the story behind it, Surinam and it’s food, smoked eel and herring, etc. Quite wonderful!All I hoped for and more!

I wanted to find experiences that my kids would really enjoy and when I came across the Dutch pancake class with Fusina, I knew they’d love it. We had her class the day we arrived and she made sure felt comfortable and welcomed even though we were fighting a bit of jet leg. The kids absolutely loved this experience. We had so much fun watching them learn how to make, mix, and flip the pancakes. Fusina had indulged us with many Dutch treats, including stroop waffles, spreads, cheese, wine, juice, pancakes and apple cake. Such a great afternoon! Fusina was a lovely, interesting guide and generous with her time. We met at her flat near the Amstel and had a cheese tasting and made Dutch pancakes followed by a visit to an organic market and tried fresh herring (surprisingly nice). We then tried deep fried beef balls followed by freshly cooked waffles. We had an interesting tour and walk after and Fusina sent us some ideas for our following days. Fab Food tour

Walking around the city with a local while eating tasty foods was wonderful. Fusina really knows the city and the foods that are popular with the locals. Fusina is also really flexible. We picked an agreeable meeting time to go along with the time our ship was in port and told her a few foods we wanted to try. She made it all happen. I recommend this tour.Great way to spend a day

Fusina began our tour with an unexpected non-food treat....A tour of her canal-front home. We like food tours because they enable you to see neighborhoods and food purveyors off the beaten (read tourist) track and this was a bonus!. Then we were off to sample bitterballen, herring, sausages, cheeses, beers, and cookies, plus we learned where she shopped and ate. She explained canal history to us and pointed out sights we never would have expected. She is a joy and her tours are even better. Her pace accommodated out group ranging from 35-75, and her English was perfect. We would give her 11 stars if we could. We had two amazing hours in great company with Fusina. Not only did she introduce us to some of the amazing flavours of Amsterdam and the Netherlands but she told us a lot about the history and culture as well. My wife and Ihad a lovely two and a half hours with Fusina On arrival she welcomed us into her home and gave us a much needed coffee As well as tasting we learnt of some history of the city and gave us a good insight into life in her city.We tasted such things as Bitterbollen ,freshly made waffles ,cheese ,herrings and pancakes.She gave us much detail into labelling which showed us not only details of the food but which farmer it had come from.This tour made our last day in Amsterdam very memorable Food tour Amsterdam with Fusina

This tour with Fusina is a must! First she invited us into her home, which we were surprised and honestly a little unsure of; but she showed us many historical sites from her view and let us see what a typical dutch flat looks like inside. It was a very nice touch. Next we went on a walk to try the most incredible foods!! Why the Dutch say they do not have good food makes no sense to me. Fusina knew ALL the best places. Plus we got to tour an organic grocery store. Stroopwaffels are everywhere but Fusina knew the PERFECT place to get the best one you will ever have in your life!! Do not go on this tour hungry as it is only a tasting tour. But the food is awesome and it is a great thing to do with a group so you can all try a little bit of each thing. We wanted more than just a canal ride and walk through the Red Light District in our visit to Amsterdam. In the new shopping area of Amsterdam the Utrecht street (Utrechtse straat) Fusina introduces her food walks. It is true thrill walking from her apartment at the Amstel river to discover the Dutch kitchen. The Utrecht street is an emerging shopping area for locals, where not many tourists can be found. From her background in retail and as princess of cookbooks she is the right person to acquaint guests with the Dutch cuisine and foodstuff. Enthusiastically she introduces innovations like the dry sausages from Brandt & Levie's in the trendy Marqt on Rembrandt Square. Marqt has more tasting food like handmade ravioli with Muttis tomato sauce and warm fish in dill sauce. A moment later we are herring gasping at the fish boot by Simon & Evert on the Prinsengracht. At Patisserie Kuyt the ladies will taste the delicious macarons. What is Amsterdam without the Albert Cuyp market? This daily market has everything for the real Dutch kitchen. After a lot of taste sensations we finally arrive at Cafe Oosterling for a traditional Dutch gin (jenever). The jenever can only be enjoyed kneeling for a first sip. Then the glass is lifted its leg, like the Dutch say for enjoying the special flavor of jenever. My sister & I were keenly welcomed into Fusina's home overlooking the Amstel canal. After much chatting, we walked to Fusina's local speciality market where we discussed all sorts of food differences - Fusina bought more cheese. On returning to her home, Fusina set out cheeses, apple paste, bread and gluten free crackers. We also sampled herring with onion and pickle. We drank white wine, but not much as it was at 11 am! Our little feast finished with apple cake and Dutch profiteroles. The opportunity to spend time with a local and her area was more valuable to us than the food and wine. Fusina was our first experience with WithLocals, and it was so much fun and made us excited for the other tours we had booked. There were four of us, my wife, mother in law and 2-year-old son. The planning phase and messages back and forth were pleasant and helpful. We arrived a few minutes late after a failed attempt to take an Uber to save time (It’s ALWAYS faster to walk in Amsterdam). She welcomed us into her historic canal house, which was so fun to see and had an incredible view of the canals. We then headed off to the open markets. Despite some initial rain we enjoyed walking through a local grocery store where she showed us local items and bought some nice local cheeses. We then moved on to the open air markets. One the way she showed us some historical places and discusses life in Amsterdam. The open air market was amazing, Fusina brought us to a stand that made homemade Dutch waffles – words cannot describe the goodness of these waffles. We asked Fusina to help us find a few local things like some teas and clothe, which she happily did. We then headed back to her canal house to enjoy our spoils. We had a great time sitting and talking and eating. It was exactly what we wanted and needed. Fusina was very accommodating, especially with our son, who thankfully fell asleep in the stroller for most of the tour. For those of you who are looking for a taste of life in Amsterdam and a good time with good food we highly recommend Fusina. PS try the herring!Open Market and Wine and Cheese Tour

Ms Fusina knows Amsterdam so well! She had us go to local hot spots that were just becoming hot. THe feature of this tour for me was to have traditional Dutch food. Ms Fusina did quite a fantastic job. She is worth every farthing. Fantastic Local Dining
