This is an ideal way to get the lay of the land through the eyes of a someone who knows the area. Whenever we visit a city for the first time we always do one of these tours because it us allows to learn some history while efficiently seeing the city. Best use of three hours. Great way to see Sydney

We have had so many wonderful Tours With Locals, our tour with Chris was a little disappointing. Starting time was moved to 8:30 (which we agreed to). The North Sydney harbor front was a nice stroll & great views of the city across the bay. Took the train over to the city. A lot of back streets with not many hidden gems. Chris had a previous appointment, so our tour was only about 2 hours. I count on honest reviews. This is an honest one.Dissapointing

Unfortunately, the tour I had with Bonnie fell short: She lacked the in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm about the selected sites she showed me that is the hallmark of other With Local tours I’ve done before. For the price, I would have been better off buying a guide book of Sydney and done a self tour. Disappointed

My kids said Ms Robyn was "so so so nice!" and rated the tour top marks. Robyn was a fantastic tour guide! It was one of the highlight of our trip to Australia. We had a fantastic time with Robyn. She's full of stories and took the time to give us a thorough tour. Since it was a rainy day, she brought the car to keep us dry during the north to south Sydney crossing. We learned a lot about Sydney, stories even our Australian family didn't know. So they enjoyed them second hand ;-). It was so nice of her to give us a lift to our lunch spot. We can definitely recommend her!Full of fun facts and so flexible!

Bonnie wollte unbedingt ihre Tour am Luna Park beginnen. Die meisten Straßen waren in Sydney aufgrund des Feuerwerks gesperrt, das sollte man vorab wissen. Wir haben mehr Zeit damit verloren, nicht gesperrte Wege zu finden. Wir erwarten mindestens 50 € Zurückzahlung! Im übrigen liegen die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten um die Oper herum und nicht auf der anderen Seite der Harbour Bridge. Bonnie hat sehr wenig background Wissen. Die Tour ist sehr sehr überteuert !Mangelhaft

Robin did a good job of showing us the less traveled spots like Wendy’s Secret Garden. However, she fell short on being knowledgeable about local spots to eat. We wanted a special spot for lunch and we ended up at a touristy take out. We also never got the list of an Australian Christmas dinner. A few other minor stuff made the tour of an incredible city, just okay. Average

Chris was amazing. We needed a tour outside his comfort zone, but he stepped up to the plate and created the perfect experience for us. I have mobility limitations making walking challenging. He figured out how to show us Sydney up close and personal without taxing me. He found exactly the sights that would interest us and then made it happen. He went above and beyond in every way. We were in Sydney for 3 days and wanted to take a guide through Sydney on the 2nd day. Robyn made Sydney come alive and tangible for us. We had actually booked a 3-hour tour - Robyn took so much time that we only parted company after 5 hours. She had so many interesting stories, places and special spots that she wanted to show us. My wife and I had a great day touring some of the highlights of Sydney with Robyn. We started with the Botanical Gardens and then the Sydney Opera House and Harbor Bridge. Through out Robyn explained the history and significance of all. Next we enjoyed a walk through North Sydney and then to Taronga Zoo We all were fascinated by the native animals. We had an excellent lunch along the beach at Watkins Bay. Finally we headed toward Biondi Beach. All in all we had a lovely time. I whole heartedly recommend using Robyn as she is a fantastic guide. Our experience with Robyn was super she is fun to spend time with, very knowledgeable a great laugh and planned our day as we had asked. Chris took us around Sydney and was knowledgeable and entertaining. He managed to captivate and even bond with our two teenage boys who had little interest in a walking tour. That’s hard to do. We had an amazing 10 tastings tour with Robyn. She was so warm and friendly and made us feel like family. She did a great job communicating before the tour and was so knowledgeable balancing our food tour with stories about the food and the history of Sydney. We tried some unique and delicious foods and had so much to eat we could hardly finish the last few tastings. It was the highlight of our time in Sydney and I can’t recommend her enough. My son, Noah(17) , and I had an 8 hour layover in Sydney. We decided to book the food tour with Robyn and are so glad we did. Robyn was an absolute gem! Her knowledge was so extensive on food, history and literally anything else we asked. She was extremely pleasant and fun to spend the day with. The curated food stops were just amazing. Sydney is a city that is a melting pot of all different cultures and we were really able to see and taste that along our tour. My only regret is I didn’t do this tour during the beginning of my trip so I could have gone back to some of these hidden gems. I consider myself a foodie, and I searched extensively for places to eat on our trip and I didn’t find any of these spots. I highly suggest you book and like I said at the start so you can visit the spots again! Thank you Robyn!!!BOOK IT!!!

My wife and I were in Sydney for a few days and decided to take a Foodie Tour. I had communicated with Robyn and she agreed to pick us up at our hotel. The Foodie Tour was in Newtown. Robyn was very knowledgable and personable. She was a wonderful guide. We had a great time. The food was excellent and Robyn knew some of the people who worked in the restaurants. Chris pushed our time back and then was late for the readjusted time. The food was ok but he didn’t really tell us much about it or describe the food scene and culture. We had some very tasty foods and got to see some of the neighborhood along King Street that didn’t seem as “ touristy” as near the Opera House. Our group had a great time with Robyn and I'd strongly recommend this tour. We were able to sample a variety of cuisines and listen to really interesting stories and historical snippets about Sydney. The food and dessert was absolutely delicious and not something we'd have discovered by ourselves. I'd suggest going in with an open mind and an empty stomach. Our guide, Chris, was friendly but did not dive into much history or details of the area. The tour felt more like a casual walk from stop to stop rather than an engaging, informative experience. Most locations offered small bites or water, but there was little storytelling or historical context to make the stops feel meaningful. While Chris was polite, he lacked the confidence and knowledge that would make for a compelling tour. It felt like he was simply following a pre-set itinerary rather than truly guiding us through the city’s culture and history. With more training and a stronger grasp of the material, he could improve significantly as a tour guide. Given the overall experience, the price felt extremely high for what was offered. The amount and quality of food, combined with the lack of engaging commentary, did not justify the cost. We’ve been on far better tours at a much more reasonable price. This experience has made us question whether we would book with WithLocals again, as it does not seem like there is a standard level of training or quality control for their guides. We had hoped for a well-structured and knowledgeable tour, but unfortunately, this one fell short in multiple ways. To help Chris improve, we suggest providing him with more guidance on delivering engaging historical context. Additionally, having him attend other tours to observe experienced guides could help him develop a stronger understanding of how to create a more immersive and informative experience. We also recommend lowering the cost of this tour significantly to align with the value. Disappointing experience

Completely enjoyed the afternoon we spent with Robyn touring through a neighborhood in Sydney tasting various foods and learning about the culture and history of the area. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sydney. She also went out of her way to help us navigate the train system to get to where we were touring and then back to our hotel.Robyn is Awesome
