Federico was fabulous. He is a very pleasant guide with an enormous amount of patience and knowledge. We didn’t feel rushed and we learned a lot. He calmly answered all our questions and let me rest whenever I needed. My 18 year old son said he was a chill dude and my 16 year old daughter said he’s cool. Would recommend without hesitation.

Frederico took us to some wonderful off the beaten path places. We tried all types of tasty tapas. He was awesome being sensitive to our food needs. He was as much of a foody as we were. Federico really knows his stuff and then some. Never thought getting to grips with the Habsburgs, Bourbons and thalassocratic Aragonese Empire could be fun but he managed to make all the historical influences comprehensible and vivid by referring to artefacts in the landscape. The tour moved at a manageable pace and Federico avoided predictably over-crowded areas by steering us towards lesser-known but no less impressive buildings, monuments and other works from Gaudi, Picasso etc. Venues for break stops were stylish, well-chosen and obscure: several would have been impossible to find without his guidance.Entertaining and educational

We just had an amazing evening with Emma at Paella Cooking school and it was honestly one of our best experiences on a family trip. Our kids aged 9 and 14 were able to participate and we lucked out being in a super fun group in the cooking class. It was the best paella we have had and the tour of the bouqueria market was vibrant and colorful !Paella experience

My wife and I had a wonderful afternoon with Frederico. He took us on a 3 hour walk around the Gothic section of Barcelona, stopping at several restaurants to taste local cuisine, topped off by a delicious chocolate pastry desert. Was glad we paid for the experience. The cost seemed pricey to me compared to other experiences we had booked but the 3 hours did include our snacks at various spots. An absolutely amazing time. 20/10 recommend. Started off touring the Boqueria Market, we were transported through sights and beautiful smells of market foods. A bustling place full of life. Our tour guide Emma was delightful snd informative providing lots of information about the Market but also all the ingredients to make paella and sangria. She was funny, delightful, and charming. We then had a short walk to the cooking space that was lined with beautiful brick walls, a decorated communal table in the middle , and a kitchen and cooking area in the back. We enjoyed prepping the seafood, making sangria and sharing stories and laughs. The whole experience was stunning and memorable and would certainly do it again. My daughters 9 and 12 enjoyed their time and also were very involved in preparing and cooking the meal. They also enjoyed making non-alcoholic sangria, a recipe we will make again in the future in addition to everything we've learned today You will not be dissapointed . Recently visited Barcelona and booked a food tour through 'Withlocals', specifically with Federico. I can honestly say it was a highlight of our visit ! Federico was engaging, knowledgeable and full of interesting facts about Barcelona, Catalunya and Spain. He covered everything from local landmarks and history through to economics and politics, a great range of discussion that extended our knowledge of this wonderful city. But ... The best bit was that he took us to some wonderful places to eat and drink that we wouldn't have visited otherwise. The quality of food and wine we experienced was excellent, all in establishments that were truly 'local'. We ended up going back to a couple of these during the remainder of our stay for our evening meals. I would highly recommend booking this experience and if you're lucky enough to pair up with Federico you will have a fantastic time !! Great experience with a great guide !!

We started our tour in Old Town, which is a wonderful part of Barcelona. We visited a number of unique restaurants where we tasted an interesting assortment of Tapas. Federico chose a wonderful and diverse menu based on our preferences. The evening ended with a visit to the Chocolate shop where we tasted terrific sweets dipped in chocolate. Federico provided us with a very informative tour and chose fun and interesting establishments to visit. He was knowledgeable and answered many of our questions about the history of the area. We arrived in Barcelona mid-morning and by mid-afternoon we were enjoying our first taste of of tapas with Federico at the Mercy de Santa Caterina. Such a beautiful tile roof. We sat and enjoyed calamari, patatas bravas, and olives after declining the suggested tripe and / or snail soup. From there we went to La Plata for fried anchovies, tomato salad, and a sausage on pan tomato. Federico said we should try vermouth as it's a typical accompaniment to tapas. We had one more stop and enjoyed manchego, salami, and cooked sausages including chorizo and Iberico morcilla with cava. Following this we made one more stop at a panaderia for take out as we simply couldn't hold our 10th taste!Tapas in the afternoon.
