We were joining a larger group tour 2 days after our arrival in Barcelona. We asked Alessandro to arrange a walking tour that would visit other areas of the city and not overlap the group tour itinerary. We also asked to arrange a day trip out of Barcelona. After providing our interests, we left the rest to him. He provided a suggested itinerary and reserved the entry tickets and train tickets ahead of time so that everything went smoothly His educational background in history was obvious. Irina was my local for a day in Girona and she was truly amazing. It felt like I had hired a friend. She was so nice and accommodating. She was professional yet personable. I really wanted to experience Girona the way the locals do and she provided me with that experience. Every church, Gelateria and cafe she took me to was part of the Girona I was looking for. She also gave me tips of Restaurant’s and place to visit along with helping me find my way around the train station. The second tour with Ivanna went to Girona and to Tossa de Mar with a short swim event. Everything was perfectly prepared here too and it was an incredible experience. The view from the castle was amazing. She came up with several alternatives to design the route with us. The hours flew by. Nevertheless, she tooks extra time to show us more. Seb was amazingly communicative before the day of our tour, so that it was clear what the day would be like, and what the timing would be because I had to catch a plane later that day. He picked me up from my hotel and we headed north. The ride was very comfortable and pleasant, and Seb and I chatted about all kinds of things. Once in Girona, Seb provided a nice background and history of the area, and we walked the entire city, from the wall surrounding the city (you walk ON the wall) to the Jewish quarter, to the cathedral, etc. I had never been to Girona and Seb was the perfect guide to introduce me to the city and to spend the day with. I liked what we saw and did - Girona is pretty - but would have liked more time there getting there at 10:15 and then catching the 13:30 train back made the experience feel a bit rushed. There were some architecturally interesting buildings near the station that I would have liked to have seen. Also, we spent less time in the Jewish museum than we probably would have done without the time pressure. I would rather have paid a bit more for more time and a more relaxed experience.Girona Daytrip

Sebastian delivered with facts, highlights, history, architecture, and music in this wonderful visit to Girona. Game of Thrones notwithstanding (we haven't watched one whole episode), there is much merit is visiting this fascinating place. Some of the stairs are steep, but Sebastian easily modified the ascent to the top of the Roman walls for us. Recommended tour, highly recommended guide. My wife and I booked Ilona for a tour of the beautiful Medieval city of Girona, Spain. We met her at the train station in Barcelona at a pre-determined spot and time and she was right on time. She handled all the rail travel details and we had great conversation on the way to Girona. We walked the wall built by Romans and toured the Jewish Quarter along with a visit to the Museum of Jewish History. We visited the Girona Cathedral and Ilona made sure we had a great restaurant to take a lunch break and experience some delicious local cuisine and wine. My wife and I were in Barcelona for three days following a 2-week Mediterranean cruise, and we had no plans in place. I found Ivanna on the "With Locals" website... it was somewhat last-minute, but thankfully she was available. Our 4-hour personal tour was excellent. She started by showing us (and teaching us about) the sights and architecture around La Rambla. She even showed us a "hidden" Roman wall that most people - including many who live in Barcelona - were unaware of. As she learned more about our interest in the culture, people, and history, she walked us through the old, and new, sections of the city. She pointed out architectural points, even explaining that one of the most famous churches in the Gothic district wasn't actually original to that time, even though it looks like it should be - and she had photos to prove it! She gave us history lessons, told us stories, and helped us to "feel" the city we were visiting. We stopped for a drink at one of her favorite locations - Els 4 Cats - where Picasso used to meet with his friends... and then she was kind enough to introduce us to the owner and surprised us with reservations for dinner there the next night. Bottom line, Ivanna offered us not only the best private tour we've ever experienced, she shared herself and her love of the city with us... she was wonderful. If you're looking for a personal approach, look no further. Hire Ivanna without reservation - you'll be very glad you did.Best personal tour we've ever had!

We loved the walking food tour with our guide. We were a family of 4, with an 11-year-old child. She made it fun and interesting for all of us. We learned about the history of Barcelona and saw some interesting things along the way to the restaurants, like a folk festival with dancing and a band, and a parade as well. The tapas we got to pick out at the restaurant were enough to count as a meal. The dessert we had at the restaurant next door was heavenly!Great food tour in Barcelona!

Sometimes in life you meet people who are genuine, authentic and the best of company. Someone who adds to the colour and richness of life. RK is such an individual. If I’d known what he had to offer, I’d have booked earlier in the evening and insisted it lasted longer. He is engaging, charming, witty and obviously very familiar with the best that Barcelona has to offer. The evening became less about the food and drink (which, by the way, was outstanding in choice and location) and much more about sharing stories and enjoying each others company.
