Our local host was Ae. She was fabulous right from the start. Connecting as soon as the booking was confirmed even if it was a month away! On the actual day of the tour, she was on time and energised to go! We stopped at the local market for coffee and she even got us snacks for the ride. Exploring Doi Ithanon was quite magical, the waterfalls, the hike around the natural environment together with a local tribe guide as well, was eye opening. Ae shared her knowledge of the various plants and animals occupying the forest. The twin pagodas were stunning and we ended at the highest point in Thailand. She treated us to lunch even though that was not included in the booking and got us souvenirs to bring back home. We could not have asked for more! Ae was more like a friend than a guide and we would definitely recommend her for those who would prefer a more personalised experience. Ae was a great choice indeed!

Our day with in Inthanon national park with Ae was one of the highlights of our trip! Ae was so friendly and fun it was easy to get comfortable with her. She was very knowledgeable about Thailand and the area. She kept us on track and would bring any possible changes to us for consideration. I booked and took a day trip to Doi Inthanon with Naphat. This excursion made a huge impression on me historically, scenically and spiritually. Naphat is a very experienced and versatile trained tour guide with a flair for captivating people. The in-depth conversations and detailed explanations of the various places visited far exceeded my expectations. Among other things, I was able to experience first-hand insights into coexistence in a mountain village. This and the explanations about Buddhism in everyday life touched me very much and I am very grateful to Naphat for that. Minty met us in the Marriott lobby at 8:30 and we rolled out of Chiang Mai through a rush hour far less daunting than Bangkok’s. Minty is a very well informed and personable guide who gave us a brief and clear account of the absorption of the Chiang Mai’s Lanna kingdom into modern Thailand under Rama V and its development as a tourist destination and agricultural center. Minty is also an excellent photographer whose pictures never fail to capture the captivating beauty of the tour and the happy faces of her clients. The countryside was lush except where dried rice stubble awaiting burning. The air was acrid with smoke until we started ascending the foothills of the Thanon Thong Chai mountains toward the Doi Suthep-Pui National park. Along the way to the park, we stopped at the Wachirathai waterfall, an 80 meter cascade that drew hordes of awestruck tourists and made a beautiful rainbow at its base. The views from both vantage points were spectacular; from the upper one, the torrent seemingly just beyond arm’s reach. , We entered the park and visited the Rama IX and Queen pagodas, built on gorgeous twin peaks to commemorate the 60th birthday of the beloved late king Bhumibol and the 25th anniversary of his reign. They are serene and shapely, and surrounded by dreamlike mountains and valleys thinly veiled with mists, but breezy and cool, interspersed with gorgeous gardens filled with blooming snapdragons. Inside the queen’s pagoda has frescoes depicting the life of Buddha, and the king’s bas reliefs of the holiest places and moments of Buddha’s life: his birth, enlightenment, first sermon, and death. We drove to Thailand’s highest point, and the crypt of the last King of Chiang Mai. Beside the chedi is a rounded brass plate on which visitors are invited to balance a coin. After watching a succession of coins tilt and fall, I succeeded, and my secret wish will soon be granted. We celebrated with lunch at a Hmong restaurant Romphoti, where we a had the best tilapia ever. After lunch, we stopped at viewpoint overlooking a verdant valley where flowers and vegetables, perhaps including those we’d just lunched on, are grown beneath canopies. We drove to the entrance of the Dai Inthanon park, collected bamboo walking sticks, end set off into the forest led by Minty and assisted by a local guide, Miu, a young Karen girl. Rainforest trees towered above us, We trekked downhill near a river whose roaring cascades filled the forest with soothing sound and delighted the eyes with their beauty, so close it seemed possible to touch the whitewater as it raced by. We crossed a wobbly bamboo bridge backdropped by a torrent of falling water, then hiked past coffee trees, some with ripened red beans, growing in the shade of the forest canopy. We reached a Karen village where Miu left our group and stayed with a group of elder Karen women looming the textiles for which they are famous. Then Monty returned us to Chiang Mai just after sunset. A great tour near Chiang Mai with Minty

We had a great time with Ratana trekking through the national park, learning about plants, seeing the waterfall and finally making it to visit a local Karen village. We saw weaving and got to drink some coffee and eat at a local restaurant before heading off to Doi Ithanon. Overall it was a long day but Ratana got us a rice snack and was great at giving a lot of relevant information and making it fun!Ratana is the best!

Purichat ["May"] was a wonderful and enthusiastic tour guide. She presented us with a variety of activity options to choose from and took us to see and do the things that interested us the most. May's also a great driver and very knowledgeable and flexible guide. We really appreciated the history of Thailand she shared with us as well as how the country was formed both geologically and politically. We chose the hike that goes along a rushing river filled with water falls and went through rice paddies and a Karen Hill Tribe village. It was a memorable hike and a memorable day, and while we noticed other guides were hurrying their groups along and limiting the time they could spend taking pictures, May let us go at our own pace and take as many photos as we wanted. My first time with this service and our guide could not have been better. She was extra communicative and friendly and gave us a lot of history about the areas we visited. She was knowledgeable but in a very down to earth way making us feel immediately comfortable. The day was packed with activity but also plenty of time for rest and also strolling leisurely through the markets. The lunch meal was wonderful as well. From 7am to nearly 5:30 pm, we experienced so much of what makes Doi Inthanon such a beautiful and historical Thai landmark. Excellent in every way.

Esperienza bellissima consigliato! Ratana veramente carina e disponibile . Anche con la lingua è stata chiarissima e se non capivano qualcosa ce lo rispiegava affinché ci capissimo. Il parco ci è piaciuto molto. Lei ci ha proposto 3 trekking. Il primo di due ore di cammino leggere per arrivare in un punto panoramico tra i più alti del parco. È stato carino ma non lo rifarei. Piuttosto farei il percorso a piedi per vedere le pagode reali (secondo trekking ) che noi non abbiamo fatto per questioni di tempistiche, ma dal primo trekking siccome si è alti di quota e i due percorsi sono vicini in linea d’aria le abbiamo viste dal nostro sentiero. Terzo trekking è stato il nostro preferito, abbiamo ammirato la foresta, le cascate, le piantagioni di caffè e le terrazze di riso in compagnia di una ragazza della tribù dei karen! We loooved the two tours we booked with Wuthikorn/Boy. The walking/driving tour in the old city was very informative, pleasant and funny. We learned a lot about those Buddhist temples and had some very pleasant 'intermezzos' (great coffee, delicious snack). He was always attentive to his customers, although I must say, we did not feel he treated us as customers, rather more like friends. The second tour he drove us all the way to Doi Inthanon. We visited a small village and had a delicious lunch, very tasty. We also visited various interesting spots and enjoyed every minute of it. He let us also enjoy nature and its different aspects. He drove skilfully and safe. After the tours he gave us also useful information on what to do where. We like to thank him a lot(again) for his guidance and his personality. Very informative !

Nephat has an infectious enthusiasm and natural talent helping people discover the history and culture of Thai people. She was very patient with me when I asked a lot of questions about the stone engraving in the twin pagodas. I appreciated the way she took her time with me Inever felt rushed on under pressure. Being an older man with asthma, I appreciated How she chooses trails in Doi Inthanon National park that were appropriate and still allowed me to experience Thai nature and wild life to its fullest. This was our second day with Ae and despite the weather it was an excellent day out to Thailand’s highest mountain. Ae can speak English very well and knows a lot about the region and the country. She's a good driver and made our trip very nice, despite the bad weather and lack of view on top. A tip would be to advise us to bring about that can become dirty, and a suggestion would be to arrange boots for the guests in case of mud.Nice trip with a nice guide!

We were very happy with the tours that we took with Purichat (May). We did the half day Chiang Mai hidden gems tour as well as the full day Doi Inthanon trip. May was very professional, highly informative and thought of the many little things that made the tours very comfortable and easy for us (she even recommends local restaurants which had delicious food!). For the hidden gems tour, she showed us around the local market and temples. For the Doi Inthanon trip, she even walked with us and the Karen hill tribe guide for the Mae Kew Pan nature hike and happily took many photos for us along the way and explained the various trees and plants. My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park with Aei. Communication with Aei before and during this day trip was perfect. Our morning started with an incredible hike with a member of the Karen Hill Tribe. The lunch they served us was delicious and a very generous portion size. The twin pagodas were stunning and a visit to one final waterfall, on our drive back to Chiang Mai, was the cherry on top of a perfect day. Being surrounded by nature in the most beautiful setting was the perfect way to spend a day. Aei is a wonderful wealth of knowledge. We learned so much! Sith was an amazing guy and guide. He speaks fluently English, what made our trip very interesting, because we could talk about a lot of things. He loves nature very much and was borne and raised in Doi Intahnon NP. He wants to give things back to nature and learn everybody about the beautiful culture of Karen people. We saw the green tailed sunbird!! After a delicious lunch we went to his home in the mountains to learn about roasting,grinding and brewing fresh coffee! Wutikorn (he goes by Boy) took great care of us. 10 hours is a long tour and he was always attentive to what we needed, water, coffee, a restroom or just quiet time, he was always on top of it. He was full of enthusiasm for what we were seeing, it never felt canned or rote. He took care of little details, like ordering food ahead at the local restaurant which is delicious, but slow, or adjusting the schedule to be out of sync with the crowds at various sites. In short, we saw lots of extraordinary things and Boy was a kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable guide. Great day out of the city!

We enjoyed a fantastic day out with Purichat at Doi Inthanon. She was super helpful, creating a slightly customised itinerary for us prior to the trip and was really informative when responding to some of our questions. We wanted to combine the trip with a 2 hr trek to Kew Mae Pan and a visit to the Wachirathan waterfall. In addition to the twin Pagodas, we also visited both the Karen and Hmong tribes and had an amazing time with a hands on lesson on how coffee is made! We also went into one of the villagers houses and met the family! Purichat is a lovely, warm person with a great sense of humour and immediately makes you feel at ease. We had such an amazing day with May at Doi Inthanon National Park! She picked us up at our hotel at 7am. We stopped by Wachirathan waterfall on our way in before enjoying the Kew Mae Pan nature trail. The trail was beautiful with incredible views, blooming rhododendron and colorful birds. From there we visited the twin pagodas and then the summit, all while learning about Thai culture, the history of Buddhism and history of Thailand from May. We enjoyed local snacks and local lunch with May’s suggestions, food was incredible! On the way down, we stopped by the local Mhong village and market and enjoyed several tasty snacks while learning about the Mhong history and culture from May. Our last stop was the Karen tribe village where May took us to a local family’s house where they grow and roast coffee. It was exciting to get to roast our own coffee beans in a clay pot and help grind/make the coffee before thoroughly enjoying the final product! May also showed us all around the village where we got to learn about local Karen culture, their way of life and history before getting us back to our hotel early evening. We had such a wonderful day with May, we went on an evening local food tour with her the next night. There we enjoyed Northern Thai dishes at several local restaurants including amazing roasted chicken and pork made in a clay pot, papaya salad, larb, stewed pork leg and several Thai desserts. We had an amazing day with Kit at the Doi Inthanon national park. Despite having bad luck with the weather, Kit gave his best to make this day a blast!. We learned a lot about his time as a monk and he gave us an insight in his personal life. It felt like we are hanging out with a friend. Wuthikorn (Boy) is an absolutely amazing, friendly, and informed host, a safe driver, and very patient with my many, many questions. We spent the entire day exploring with no hurry, sharing wonderful stories, and it was a joy to share our love of plants and trees. From the highest point in Thailand to a wonderful hike to local villages, coffee growers, flowers, and an absolutely wonderful, unhurried lunch, I can only highly recommend this tour! I would highly recommend Purichat for any tours and activities. She was on time, very knowledgeable, excellent driver, attentive and went many extra miles for us. In addition to our tours, we visited a market and she introduced us to many snacks and fruits we would not have known to select. She recommended great sites and restaurants to visit. She managed to give us the right amount of information without being overwhelming at the right time. We learned a lot and are extremely happy with her services. If you are in luck and she has an availability, grab it while it lasts. She also took great photos and videos which we greatly appreciated. Purichat (Mae) was a very knowledgeable guide that created a great experience for us. We had a wonderful day with our guide Sith. The long drive from Chiang Mai to his local village in Doi Inthanon was well worth it as Sith introduced us to his family and involved us in the various steps of artisanal coffee making. We harvested and stripped the fruits of their outer shell, saw how coffee is naturally sun roasted and the shell removed by hand. We roasted the grains in a clay pot over wood fire, ground the coffee after it cooled down and finally enjoyed a lovely cup of our own roast! Meanwhile, Sith's cousin sang story telling traditional songs. It was magical... After a lovely lunch at the village's only restaurant, we enjoyed a nice walk with a local guide along the river and numerous waterfalls, learning about the jungle flora and fauna.Coffee, local culture and nature

Connected with our guide a few weeks before our arrival, he was very good at communicating with us and working out a good itinerary. He stayed in contact all the way up to our day of arrival, making sure to check in the night before our scheduled adventure. He arrived promptly and met us in our hotel lobby. We made our introductions and all packed into the car. We made a quick stop to get fuel and talked more about what we wanted to do for the day. My Brother had expressed an interest in seeing some elephants so we mentioned that. He said no problem and made a quick phone call, as we later learned, to his brother who worked with a local elephant sanctuary. So, our first stop for the day was to feed and interact with a small herd of elephants. From there we traveled further up the mountain to Doi Inthanon national park. The rest of our day was spent exploring the local area and visiting with Karen Hill Tribe locals, topped off with an immersive introduction to the art of coffee growing and roasting. Overall we had a fantastic day and made lifelong friends. Fantastic day with local

My husband and I had a great day with Boy. He was very informative and shared a lot of information about the park, history and Chiang Mai in general. We made a number of stops, took a nice hike, had some local coffee and delicious lunch. Highly recommend this trip with Boy. Great day at Doi Inthanon

Boy was very helpful & accommodating. He tailor made a hiking route for my daughter (6 years old) & I which was not too tiring but exciting enough. We enjoyed the day a lot. He also recommended some good spots for dinner & music.

Naphat was an absolutely fantastic guide! Not only was she polite, organised and incredibly informative, but she also had a passion for sharing her knowledge and experience of mindfulness, meditation and Buddhist philosophies which added a richness to every experience. This was not at all preachy and Naphat regularly checked in with me as to whether she was giving too much information - but her passion was infectious! Naphat took me to some truly wonderful, fascinating places and shared in my joy in experiencing them for the first time, so much so that I thoroughly enjoyed her company. I met her a solo traveler seeking a guide and felt that, after our last trip together, I had made a new friend. Additionally, Naphat was flexible and non-judgemental in accommodating of my M.E. (myalgic encephalitis, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and adapted activities to fit a pace I could manage. She also didn't stop when the booked tours ended, but gave me recommendations for places to eat (very handy as I'm vegetarian), live music, and more.One in a million!
