My 11-year old grandson and I did two excursions (Kanchanabiri and Ayutthia) with Saravantin and both were great. She was very attentive to our unique interests and personalized the tours based on our wishes. She is very knowledgeable and communicates well. Moddy took us on the most wonderful day trip to Kanchanburi. She was exceptionally professional, corresponding with us will in advance of the trip to understand our preferences and priorities. The day of she and our driver arrived with extra time to spare making sure that we had everything we needed prior to our departure. We did a number of activities off the beaten path, tailored to our traveling style; huge photography fans as well as small children who love interactive experiences. From buying food from locals and trying all of the fruits and tasty treats that the roadside stands had to offer to spending time and small local villages where we got to see a piece of everyday Thai life, we could not have been more happy. Moddy is a gem and will be a topic of fond memories for many years to come. Wir (Familie mit 2 Teenagern) haben mit Sammy eine Tour nach Kanchanaburi gemacht - mit Floating Markets, Brücke am Kwai, war museum und Zugfahrt. Die Tour war von Sammy sehr gut und abwechslungsreich organisiert. Die Organisation war perfekt. Ein Highlight - vor allem auch für die Kinder - war eine Zugfahrt (mit einem regulären lokalen Zug) auf einem Streckenabschnitt vor der Brücke über den Kwai. Wer diese Tour macht, muss sich klar darüber sein, dass man viel Zeit im Auto (in unserem Fall ein sehr komfortabler Van mit separatem Fahrer) verbringt. Aus unserer Sicht hat sich das aber gelohnt (auch weil wir auf der Fahrt etwas Schlaf nachgeholt haben...). Abwechslungsreiche Tour nach Kanchanaburi

Saravarint arrived punctually for the trip. Very helpful. The driver was also on time and his vehicle was exceptional with comfort, reclining seats and AC. 10/10. The tour was great from start to finish. We went up the waterfall to all 7 levels. We then had a nice lunch down the bottom which was super reasonable. Then onto fast boat down river Kwai and the bridge. Again great fun. We also visited the war graves cemetery nearby in morning. Timings were spot on. Left at 6.30am from Bangkok and back by 6pm. The guide was 10/10. The driver also. No faults and no complaints . Very nice people. Erawan Waterfall & Bridge on River Kwai

We were so lucky to have Polly as our tour guide. Well organized, enthousiastic and with a wealth of information she made our trip worth remembering. My wife, our 7-year-old son, and I had a fantastic tour around Bangkok with Sudarat. It was such a wonderful way to discover parts of the city we never would have uncovered on our own. Sudarat was truly amazing — especially with our usually shy and reserved boy. She engaged with him so naturally that he warmed to her almost immediately. Throughout the tour she found fun and thoughtful ways to keep Patty involved, which he absolutely loved, while still offering more than enough insight and depth to keep the adults fascinated. The tour struck the perfect balance of fun and education, with great insights into Bangkok’s incredible history, Thai traditions, and Buddhist culture. In just a few hours, we managed to see stunning temples and the giant reclining Buddha, feed turtles, ride in tuk tuks, enjoy sticky mango rice, wander through the flower markets, and so much more. It was an unforgettable experience, and Sudarat was a truly outstanding guide. We have visited different places for 3 days. A foodtour, city tour, markets, Kanchanaburi and Ayuttaya. His English is very good and he reslly knows the places. We did a city tour and he told us many things about the temple, history etc. Very interesting! Also the visits to Kanchanaburi and Ayuttaya we learned a lot about the culture, history and traditions. More than with any other guide (and we book a lot via this platform). He was kind, the long daytrips felt very luxury with enough water, some snacks and cold towels. We were a bit late for the foodtour the first day because we had to go by public transport and did'nt know how this worked. So maybe it was better to start from our hotel. This is the only thing that could be improved. But he waited and we had some nice food. Sometimes a bit in a rush, but you could ask to wait a bit. He was always on time and patiently waiting for us. He made nice photos so we have a lot of nice memories. We would definitely recommend him as your guide! We have had amazing days!

We had such an amazing experience with our Bangkok temple, river taxi, and street snacks tour! Ms Nok was absolutely wonderful—she was warm, knowledgeable, and made the day so enjoyable. Moddy was a phenomenal guide. Prior to the tour, she was quick to respond and catered a very robust custom tour schedule for my friends and I. Throughout the day, Moddy was a wealth of information, often providing answers to questions we were already thinking about. Moddy’s passion for her Thai culture was evident during her tour! During the tour Moddy even pivoted to allow some time for us to grab snacks at the local market and step to an indoor textile museum to cool off for a bit. I was really happy with my tour with Nok. We talked and walked for four hours, took a river ferry and a tuk tuk, and I tried a wide range of amazing Bangkok food. We walked a bunch of different neighbourhoods, starting with an informative walk around the big temple complex Wat Ratchanatdaram, and finishing with the flower markets. Nok is a lovely person, great company, and an informative guide. She introduced me to so much outstanding Thai food, and great family run food businesses. I liked it that she was very responsive to my interests and what I wanted to do. Thanks so much Nok!

Since making my booking Moddy kept me up to date with where we'd be going, what to see, the significance and history of the sites. Her enthusiam is certainly catching and her knowledge very impressive. She was great company and able to answer any questions I had, really knew what she was talking about and added a touch of humour with her infectious laugh! I thoroughly recommend Moddy as a guide especially for someone with no prior knowledge of what we were seeing. Many highlights but I do have to add rooftop drink, sunset and photo of Wat Arun. Moddy was the best tour guide a solo traveler (or anyone) could ever ask for. Not only is she incredibly knowledgable, she was very kind, thoughtful and helpful. As soon as I was interested in a solo tour, I first contacted Moddy via WithLocals. My priority was to see Wats and to receive a blessing from a Buddhist Monk. She provided me with the proper information to help guide my decision. As soon as I received her friendly description of what my personalized tour would be, I booked it immediately on the website to secure my time with Moddy. Because I was far from the meeting area, Moddy arranged to meet me at my local train station. My train station was 1.5 hours away from where she lived. This in itself showed me Moddy's dedication and care to ensure my personalized tour would be a positive experience. She then showed me how to use the transit system, we even took a boat down a canal! It was very exciting. Throughout the tour, she explained to me the history of Buddhism and the Kingdom of Thailand. I learned so much. Moddy is a Historian who had answers to my many questions and took the time to take my photo during key moments of the trip. During the Wat visits, she ensured that I received my Blessing from the resident Monk as well as guided me through Buddha principles, respect and prayer practices. She led me through a meditation and offered me encouragement to continue meditation practice. We also spent a lot of time walking and hiking staircases, the unexpected exercise was a welcomed bonus for me. I truly enjoyed my time educationally, emotionally and physically with Moddy. Afterwards, we had a lovely lunch where she took me to a local, family owned (Michelin starred) restaurant. The cost was very inexpensive and the food was fantastically delicious. If you ever need a tour in Bangkok, Moddy is the woman to take you. She is a 10 out of 10. I am lucky and grateful to have had her be my guide. Really great morning (4 hours) with Chatchai. We only visited one major tourist site (reclining buddha) which was by our request as we wanted to see more local highlights without the crowds. Chatchai showed us some more local temples, the flower market and China town, with 2 teenage boys we needed it to be engaging and it was, jumping on and off Tuk-tuks, preparing a lotus flower and presenting it in the temple (our favourite part), feeding turtles and giving us lots of interesting facts along the way. We highly recommend the tour and Chatchai as a fantastic guide. ThanksFamily friendly Tour

Nok was a superb guide. She showed me around many interesting places and shared a lot of knowledge about all the places we visited. Nice that you took Apple time for experiencing two beautiful temples (Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan and Wat Saket Ratchawora Mahawihan) while explaining buddhist philosophy and absorb all the impressions. Also the chanting by the monks was meaningful to experience, as well as the open in-depth dialogue with you and the monk after the sacred ritual! Our evening with Nok was truly wonderful. To celebrate my husband's birthday, she created a special food tour centered around his favorite dish, Laab. We were so touched that she also brought a small gift. The tour took us to three fantastic locations, from a small food stall to a proper restaurant. Nok is an incredibly accommodating, funny, and interesting person. She is also genuinely kind and a pleasure to be around. My family and I booked "The Ultimate Ancient city of Ayutthaya Day Trip" with Polly and we are so glad we did. This was our second withlocals trip whilst visiting Bangkok and our favourite for so many reasons. The tour itself was to the North of Bangkok and it was nice to get away from the traffic and hustle and bustle of the city centre for the day. Polly was a wonderful host from start to finish, extremely knowledgeable and struck the balance so well in regards to being informative and keeping it fun. Photographer skills were second to none, knew the best positions for photos and we left with some truly amazing family photos and memories. Throughout the tour Polly looked after us impeccably, the recommendations she provided were spot on each time including that amazing local Thai lunch by the river. Polly's "Mary Poppins" handbag also had us covered (even before we realised we needed it) for all eventualities... sun umbrella, mozzy spray, tissues, wet-wipes etc. I can honestly say Polly could not have done anything more to make the day any better. The provided A/C Car and driver was brilliant, the sites we saw were great. Our host was amazing and the Thai history we learned in that day alone was immense but we never felt once overloaded. Polly you are a credit to your profession and wish you all the best for the future, next time we are in this region of the world we will be booking again! Polly, The Mary Poppins of Bangkok!

We had a great time being taken around a bunch of local areas and trying foods we would never have found otherwise. It was nice having it personalised and a bit of choice to find what also suits our tastes, whilst still getting new experiences. My only advice is to turn up hungry. We tried a mix of dishes, before finding a bunch of different desserts in Chinatown. We got to go down some of the side streets and to small local street food vendors. We would highly recommend to anyone wanting to taste and discover a great variety of Thai food.Amazing food selection

We had super fun and educational time with Moddy. She is very knowledgeable and has great energy. Had to customize our tour because of our teenaged daughter. Moddy was very accommodating. We will book her again when we come back to Bangkok for more sightseeing! Great customized tour
