Luis did a wonderful job keeping us informed and meeting us in a timely manner. Saw so many churches and beautiful sights, such as the Sao Roque, the Gloria elevator, the Se church, church of St. Dominic, history of the area, the plazas, the people and Porteguese rulers. We passed by so many areas and learned so much! Also had time for a water break, cherry liquor (ginjinha), and custard pastries! It was so worth doing, I highly recommend.wonderful day in Lisbon!

Alexandru exceeded all expectations. My wife had a sore ankle and Alexandru adjusted the day's trip to Cabo da Roca, Sintra and Cascais to minimize the walking. Lisbon was our last stop on our week in Portugal and we definitely saved the best tour for last. Luis was friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable. We ventured to Sintra, Pena Castle, Caiscase and saw some Lovely beaches along the way. Our Full day tour included enough free time to shop and have a great lunch at a restaurant that Luis recommended. Luis arrived on time. His vehicle was clean and comfortable and he was a safe and courteous driver. Amazing last day in Portugal with Luis!

Veerle heeft de voorbereiding van ons dagprogramma en de ontmoetingsplek perfect geregeld. Veerle reageerde snel en goed op onze vragen vooraf over bijvoorbeeld tips restaurants. Dat was heel fijn. Veerle was netjes gekleed en we vertrokken op tijd via de trein naar Sintra. Vanaf het begin tot het einde was ons contact met Veerle prettig en relaxed. Veerle is een open mens en oprecht belangstellend. Zij vertelde ons veel waardevols over Portugal, Lissabon, Sintra en de mensen die daar wonen. We hebben een prachtige dag met haar beleefd en we bevelen haar als gids zeker aan. Een eerlijk oordeel geven over de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding vinden we lastig. Een dagtour met een privé gids was voor ons namelijk de 1ste keer. Wat ons hierbij zou helpen is een specificatie van de opbouw van de totaalprijs van 400 euro. Bijvoorbeeld de verhouding tussen de overheadkosten en het salaris van Veerle.Een prettige gids met waardevolle info

Miguel picked us up right on time (he was early) and was so enjoyable ! He arranged for our luggage to be transported ahead of our group to alleviate the stress of managing it throughout the tour. We saw Pena Palace and he provided the local history. He arranged the tickets and made sure we knew where to go and when to be there. If you plan to go to Sintra (or any tours from Lisbon) we highly recommend booking with Rui. Terrific communication from the get-go. We wanted to see the Quinta da Regaleira and Cabo da Roca. Rui worked with us to plan a perfect day. He was on-time in a clean comfortable van. Knew walking shortcuts so that we didn't get caught in the crowds that are the norm in Sintra. Provided insights and info as we walked and answered our many questions about Portugal and Lisbon. The thing that really stands out is Rui's personality, which is delightful. Friendly, comfortable, easy going while still keeping us on track for our very full day. He even added a stop as he drove us back to Lisbon because we hadn't yet been to the Monument to the Discoveries. (Well worth seeing!) An investment to do a private tour? - yes. Worth every penny -- Absolutely! PS - The trains were on strike when we were in Lisbon but because we had arranged with Rui, we didn't have any worries. Best decision we made on trip to Lisbon!

Our family chose the ‘City Explorer: Obidos, Batalha, Alcobaça & Nazaré’ day trip and had a wonderful time visiting multiple sites with Stasea. All locations were extremely diverse and offered a little bit of everything. I highly recommend doing a guided tour to these locations as they are far distances from Lisboa. Stasea was extremely knowledgeable of the history, patient, kind, and also a great driver. The ages of our group ranged from 7-65 years old and everyone had a good time! I highly recommend choosing this tour if you have additional days in Lisboa and want to see different areas of the country. Great day visiting multiple sites!

We had such a wonderful time on this food tour in Lisbon! We met our guide, Diogo, at a stunning overlook of the city—a perfect place to begin. Diogo was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about Lisbon's history and culinary traditions. Our first stop was a cozy restaurant where we sampled octopus salad, clams, and a fritter with fascinating historical roots (originally created by Jewish communities to disguise chicken as pork). We also had fresh sardines and appreciated Diogo’s excellent guidance on how to eat them like a local. From there, we made a brief stop by the Pharmacy Museum for another great view before continuing to Artis Wine Bar for more small plates and a lovely dessert. Along the way, Diogo pointed out historical landmarks like an old bookstore and a classic coffee shop. We ended the evening in a lively plaza with a tasting of ginjinha, the traditional cherry liqueur. We highly recommend Luis. Luis took us on a 3-hour walking tour of Lisbon the day we arrived, and then he took us on two one-day tours on subsequent days to several neighboring towns. He was flexible, accommodating, and congenial. Luis was very knowledgeable about the country, region, sites (touristy and off the beaten path), and history. He made great suggestions on what to do and was responsive to our inquiries. His car was clean and comfortable, and we felt very safe in his hands. Words can't fully describe how wonderful the tour to Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais was. We did several tours on our Portugal vacation, but our tour guide, Miguel Alves, made this tour stand out from the rest. The sites we toured were breathtaking, but Miguel's detailed knowledge of each site was mind-boggling. Miguel studied history, and his passion and pride for Portugal were evident. He showed us the tiniest of details that we know other tour groups didn't even notice. He kept us out longer than scheduled, for which we were very grateful. We will tell EVERY person we know to connect with Miguel when they travel. When we return, we'd love to do another Porto and Douro tour, but with Miguel. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Sintra with Luis! Although we endured some rain during the first half of the day, Luis made the best of it and enabled us to enjoy all of Sintra and the surrounding area. Luis' deep knowledge of Portuguese history is amazing, which brought the diverse background of Sintra to life for us. I cannot recommend Luis more for a visit to Sintra or anywhere else in the Lisbon area!Fantastic day in Sintra!

Sofia knows and loves Sintra! She met us at our hotel and we had a wonderful day. We went to her favorite local seafood restaurant and had sea bass caught that morning. Fantastic! A storm one week before we arrived caused major damage to trees and roads, so she had to adjust the itinerary, and took us to other beautiful spots along the coast. We even got to visit a local winery and craft beer brewery. What fun! Thank you, Sofia!!Great intro to Sintra!

We loved our trip to Evora with Luis. First, Evora is a beautiful walled city with great character. The roman ruin, churches and cathedral were a great draw, but it was walking the streets and seeing the shops we loved the most. It was also wonderful to be outside of Lisbon for a day and see the countryside. Second, Luis was a terrific guide for us. From the car ride first thing in the morning until the return trip in the afternoon he was filled with information. He weaved together questions we had from other tours with new information about our visit to Evora and really helped us form a more complete picture of Evora, Lisbon and Portugal (people, places, culture and history). He is a wealth of knowledge that flows in conversations and stories and kept us engaged all day. The bottom line upfront: do an all-day private tour to Sintra. If you can, do so with Miguel. You won't regret it. The tour started with an early 8am hotel pickup but that's well worth it since you have a chance to beat the immense crowds at Pena Palace. Besides, Miguel has it down to a science to (circum)navigate lines and crowds effectively. Before going to Portugal we read multiple reviews that said that if we visited Sintra, we should skip the palace as it was “boring.” That was the complete opposite of the experience we had with Miguel. We could not have found it more interesting. We toured with our two teenage sons and all of us were totally fascinated by what Miguel shared with us throughout the day. Miguel is a huge history buff and is a veritably bottomless (initiation) well of information about the history of the buildings we visited (Pena, Moorish Castle, la Regaleira), the broader Sintra area, the artifacts we saw, and the subtle yet fascinating symbols of e.g. the Freemasons. It also helped that Miguel was easy and pleasant to be around and that his enthusiasm for all-things-Sintra were practically oozing out of his pores. We loved his genuine enthusiasm for Sintra and his desire to learn more to elevate his craft (for instance he’s been waiting excitedly for an area to reopen after reconstruction and restoration). Fantastic Private Tour of Sintra, Worth Every Penny!

Our guide, Stasea, was really helpful and knowledgeable. She guided us through each destination and also gave us ample self time for pictures. Our travel guide (Migel) was excellent. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Sintra & Cascais & Quelez was fabulous! Only disappointment was the weather on the day as it was cloudy & raining intemittantly, this meant that we could not go to Pena Palace due to poor visibility. This was extemely disappointing as Pena Palace was the main reason I wanted to go to Sintra. Anyway, the rest of the tour was fabulous.Tour of Sintra, Cascais & Quelez Palace
