Tommi presents Helsinki both historically and culturally in grand fashion. His voluminous knowledge of the history of Helsinki and Finland really shines through. We let him determine the tour and were treated to an array of historical and cultural experiences. I can’t recommend Tommi enough for a small group walking tour. Excellent private guide

Our group of 6 cruisers met Tommy for Highlight of Helsinki 3 Hour City Tour and were so glad we did. Tommy tailored our tour to start and finish at places convenient to us and to make for an easy walk back to our ship shuttle bus. We visited so many interesting places but the highlight was the library of all places - what a world class facility. First, I want to say what a terrific guide Ruth was! As soon as we booked this tour, Ruth reached out to ask questions about us, where we were coming from, how long we would be in Helsinki, and if we had anything specific we wanted to try. I let her know that we wanted to try everything and anything that would be eaten by people in Helsinki. Ruth did not disappoint. We tried reindeer, bear, elk, whitefish, salmon, as well as local pastries and chocolate. Ruth took us to places that locals enjoy, and told us the history of the food and the businesses. As we walked from place to place she pointed out historical buildings and took us inside some of the buildings to show us additional, beautiful architecture. Ruth was a wealth of knowledge about Finlands history, too. We never felt rushed and were able to linger at restaurants and continue conversations before starting off for another establishment. Thank you Ann for such a wonderful afternoon in Helsinki! We stopped in this city on our way to Paris for an afternoon and an overnight and booked this tour to learn about the city. Ann was our guide and we are lucky for it. She is charming, warm, and taught us so much about this lovely, but cold, part of the world. I felt badly because although the locals thought the weather was particularly nice, I was absolutely freezing from the wind and not properly dressed, so I had to cut our tour short by about 30 minutes. If it hadn't been for that, we could have enjoyed Ann's company for much longer. We are hoping that American's are welcome again in the near future in Russia and hope to reach out to Ann to take us to St. Petersburg! Ruth was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who was well prepared with information and brochures about what we were seeing with her and recommendations for later. Her food tasting were excellent and we went back to some the next day. She effortlessly modified the tour for our walking ability and pace. Tommy met me on time near the train station and we began our tour. He speaks clear and substantive English so our conversations were very free flow. He understood that I was very tired as I had just come off a 13 hour flight and was on a layover. He paced the tour knowing this. He showed me things I would never have discovered on my own or in a big tour group. We discussed Finnish history, architecture, contemporary issues and other subjects. His ability to figure out what I wanted to see and hear about made it a terrific tour. I just wish I had more time that day. We ended up back at the train station on time and he made sure I caught the correct train back to the airport. All in all, the tour felt like a leisurely stroll with a new friend rather than a guide trying to rush. Kudos for Tommy. I recommend him highly.Perfect guide for me

My mom and I had a wonderful tour with Tommy! After giving us a brief introduction to Helsinki’s history, along with gifting us some traditional candy, we were off for a wonderful walk! Despite the rainy conditions, Tommy remained upbeat, full of life, and had so much knowledge to share with us. The tour consisted of both iconic and less well known sights of Helsinki! In addition, Tommy suggested several wonderful coffee shops/restaurants! Tommy was truly a breath of fresh air with an unparalleled sense of humor (we were laughing almost the whole time)! We met Tommy in our hotel. He was prompt and immediately informative about Finland’s history and sights. We traveled by foot for the next two and a half hours to various locations. Tommy was highly intelligent but lacked a unified theme of his tour. Furthermore, the tour was advertised as a food tour, however we only stopped at a vendors food market and 3-4 sampled small dishes instead of the 10 tastings that was advertised. This happened within the first thirty minutes of the tour and we did not eat or drink anything at all for the next 1.5 hours. The temperature was frigid, but despite this we never snuck into a cafe and grabbed a cup of coffee or warm drink. We were parched by the end of the tour. We had mentioned to Tommy, but he ignored any discussion about coffee, beer/alcohol or any drink. The final straw that showed that this was not actually a food tour was when He had brought us to a grocery store and purchased candy for us to eat later. We have been on many food tours; and what we expectedly would be sampling small bites and beverages during a walking tour of the city. When we spent thirty minutes in the grocery store, of which he was not familiar with, we realized that he may just be making the tour up as he went along and not had a plan for the day. The highlight of the tour was the Finland library which he left us to explore on our own. Lecture rather than food

Tommy jumped in at the last minute since our scheduled guide tested positive for Covid. He was terrific and very knowledgeable as well as a delightful person. We had a great day and ended with a tour of the Helsinki library which is amazing.
