Sandie was a wonderful tour guide for our Taste of Vienna. We went to a wide variety of food stops from appetizers to drinks to lunch to dessert - all very tasty. In fact, we went back to a couple of them later in the week. Sandie intermixed a history of the City as we walked between stops which made is particularly interesting. There were four in our group and we were all very pleased that Sandie was our guide.Great Tour!

Sandie is great. From the moment she met us in the lobby of our hotel (she was early) we knew we were in for a wonderful day of sight seeing, story telling and food samplings! Sandie offered up a great overview of what the next 3 hours would look, feel and taste like. :) We then proceeded to sample some fine local eats, treats and and drink while walking around the city core and learning about the history of this beautiful city and all the events that influenced the restaurants on the tour Special events are all about the experience and this was a great experience. A really great experience! Sandie can tell you a lot about Vienna as well as travelling to many other places. In terms of food, there is plenty to eat! It is a good mix of savory and sweet Austrian dishes. It is also a good introduction to the city's center -- this is a great thing to do on the first day of a stay in Vienna, as it will give you a good sense of both the city and the cuisine. Sandie is a wonderful vivacious Guide. She was knowledgeable & engaging. She picked me up at my hotel & as we walked she explained the history & significance of the buildings & monuments. Her tour was perfectly pitched for a first time visitor. My food experience was amazing. I so enjoyed my sandwiches @ Trezesniewski. We next went to Cafe Engländer where I enjoyed the best Vienna Schnizel & potato salad - the dressing was delicious. I enjoyed my first glass of Viennese wine - similar to Riesling. Desert was at Cafe Diglas & even though I was fit to burst I managed to enjoy the most delicious Apple Strudel Sandie was generous with her time & my tour ran until its natural conclusion. We went with Sandie on a Vienna walking food tour. We only had one day in Vienna and the night before arriving I reached out to see if we could squeeze in a tour with her. Sandie from Vienna was a fun guide for my day trip to the Wachau Valley, delivering an experience that blended wine, culture, and local charm. From the moment we set off, her warmth, knowledge, and passion for the region made the journey engaging and memorable. Our first stop was a small winery run by her friend Phillip, who welcomed us with a fascinating tour of his vineyard. His insights into the winemaking process, paired with a tasting of his wines, set a high bar for the day. Sandie’s personal connection with Phillip added a special touch, making the visit feel intimate and authentic. Next, we visited another winery, this one led by one of the few female winemakers in the region—a friend of Phillip’s. Her expertise and unique perspective on the Wachau Valley’s wine culture were inspiring, and the tasting showcased an impressive variety of wines. Had the most pleasant bike ride. Sandy was very knowledgeable, patient, took us to the most important stops in the city center and we even tried traditional Kaiserschmarrn. We had a lovely non-strenuous bike tour around Vienna with Sandy. She is very knowledgeable and shared a lot of local history. One improvement may be to keep things moving. Sandy is a very warm and friendly guide. We spent an enjoyable day walking the streets of Vienna looking at buildings of interest and getting a feeling for Vienna. Although we would have liked more factual and detailed information about the architecture and history around what we saw. As a comment on the organisation, we were surprised to have to buy tickets for building entry or for the train on top of the tour price. It is better to be included in the price. We’ve now done several food tours via With Locals, this was the best so far. Sandy was a charming guide and great company. The tour had the perfect mix of sight seeing and food stops, all within the city centre. Make sure you arrive hungry, unlike some tours you will be treated to full sized meals and huge deserts. I would recommend Sandy in a heartbeat! I booked the tour while I was still back home in Canada and Sandy was super easy to communicate with through the With Locals website. I had only an evening layover in Vienna. Sandy picked me up from the airport and tailored a late night tour to accommodate my short time frame. Sandy also graciously accommodated my last minute request to invite two friends who had decided on short notice to fly from the UK to meet me in Vienna. Sandy's knowledge of Viennese history, architecture and culture is astounding and with her humorous anecdotes we were captivated. Our family of four had lots of fun with Sandy on the pastry tour. We were in Vienna just for the weekend and this was a great way to get a little history, try some well known pastries and experience a few of the coffeehouses. When our family arrived two minutes early to the designated meet up location, we immediately started looking for Sandy. We searched everywhere in the vicinity, with no luck. Sandy later claimed she had been there, but if true, she didn’t look for us (a family of 4, obviously searching for someone). I texted 10 minutes after the meeting time and got no reply until about 20 minutes later, when she said she was already home and couldn’t get back for another 20 minutes. We’d waited in the cold for over 45 minutes at that point. This was wildly frustrating and disappointing to me and my family. What a terrible way to start our visit to Vienna, and totally surprising given the great experience we had with this company in Greece just a few years earlier.No show

Met Sandy by the golden bear and straight away we both knew we were with a local, she was just a lovely bright woman with a passion for her city Vienna. She holds your interest in the way she is, and had a rare and interesting historical knowledge of her city but can go back and go to the present day in a way only someone like her can. She took us first for the genuine Austrian sandwiches where only Viennese were they were delicious and delicate and the baby beer balanced them beautifully. She is easy to talk to and interested in the world so you feel like you have met a new friend. The next stop was to enjoy Pumkin soup and platter of local Viennese cured meats, cheeses and delicious breads, matched with a local Danube Austrian Sauvignon I can still taste this now just sumptuous. She chats and walks and gives you great tips and then we arrive at a lovely Viennese coffee house for 3 sweet delicacies we barely have room but cannot resist and have to say the Strudel won. Thanks Sandy this 3 hours spent with you was memorable and we cannot thank you enough, good luck in all that you do in the future and big thanks from your 2 UK girls❤️Sandy shows us her Vienna
