Gennaro was fabulous. We have a 7 and 11 year old. It was a super hot day with young children yet he managed to keep my wife and I interested as well as the kids. We had a great tour with lots of information given on the history of the place and where we should visit. She gave us recommendations for eating and the fish restaurant down by the Marina was fantastic. We also tried many of the Napoli snacks and gelato so it was a fun tour of only 1.5 hours. It might have been slightly helpful if Connie had stopped to tell all the group of the site she was describing but she had a lot to show us in the time and so she didn’t have much time to wait until the group where all together! Noemi was like a whirlwind when we met up. She was very friendly and her English was very good. The Ice Breaker was getting me to traverse the Piazza del Plebiscito Blindfolded, as prisoners were reputed to have attempted in order to gain their freedom. (I nearly made it). Noemi was so passionate about her city, and described how it came to be as it is now, from the earliest formative volcanos, to the socio political struggles through the ages. She really brought the place to life. The "Shrine" to Maradona was a surprise, as was the varied graffiti art around the Spanish Quarter. We loved the 'Nini, Toto, Peppi" Story. Hilarious!! The Naples equivalent to "Morecambe and Wise" we think. She rounded off the tour at the most amazing Pizza restaurant "Vincenzo Capuano", where you were given golden Scissors to cut into your Pizza. We have come away with a desire to return and explore more of Noemi's city. Grazie mille, mio ​​appassionato amico. Speriamo di rivederti.Naples with a Passion!

Dario was incredibly knowledgeable regarding the history of Naples and explained everything really well. We only had 1 1/2 hour tour in the morning but then he gave us really good suggestions how to see the important parts of the city for the rest of the day so that we could make the most of our short stay in Naples. Raffaele was absolutely wonderful. A gentleman, who knew the history of this great city. We had no idea that out tour would be so interesting and fun when our cruise ship changed course and ditched amalfi to dock in Naples. The withlocals site was fabulous since it gave the bios of the tour guides and offered PayPal. Raffaele’s bio was as impressive as he was. We learned and saw so many interesting sites in Naples that we are now talking about having him help us with a five day vacation there! We highly recommend him. Rita was phenomenal. This is an energetic tour guide who knows her history, facts, and will tailor the tour to your desires. She asked what interested us, and really built the tour around this. For example, that last 30 minutes I asked where 30 something year olds like to grab a drink in the evenings. She helped us find our FAVOURITE area to hang out most evenings. Also great recommendations on food, and helped us arrange a few recommendations. Her one dinner recommendation always had a line out the door, and she let us know before that we should arrive an hour early, put in our names, and plan to walk around. Raffaele is a storyteller like no other, who unfolded the history of the city of Naples before our eyes, as we walked and talked at a leisurely pace past all of the marvels and highlights. The tour by Raffaele allowed us to experience Naples in so many more layers of understanding, really reaching to the depth and width of its impressive culture, people and past. He effortlessly described historic links between Naples and the Netherlands (where we are from), and made references to popular songs, music and other contemporary cultural expressions (that also our 12-year old daughter could easily relate to). While it seems quite a steep investment to make at first, the tour is really worth every penny of it. You will know and feel where you've actually been.

Mit Serena haben wir in den anderthalb Stunden die Altstadt durchlaufen. Dabei gab sie uns viele Hinweise, um sich zurechtzufinden. Die Altstadt ist eng und sehr voll. Dieser Einstieg war daher wichtig für die eigenen Orientierung, als wir dann allein unterwegs waren. Sehr viele Tipps gabs zum typischen Essen und den Lokalen. Wir waren auch im spanischen Viertel und wurden immer wieder mit dem Kult um Diego Maradona konfrontiert, für mich zu prominent bei der Führung. Einige historische Plätze haben wir auf dem Weg mit berührt, so den Palazzo Reale, zu dem wir später im Rahmen einer abendlichen Öffnung zurückgekehrt sind. Serena gab uns gute Hinweise, wie wir auf den Vomero gelangen, um Neapel von oben zu sehen. Mit ihr hatten wir eine sehr sympatische, aufgeschlossene Führerin, lustig und zu jeder Frage auskunftsbereit. Es war eine völlig richtige Entscheidung, unseren Aufenthalt in Neapel mit dieser indivduellen Führung zu beginnen.Gelungener Einstieg in den Takt von Neapel
