We had a great time with Alessandro- a pleasure to spend time with. He grew up in Verona and we did a sweeping tour of the old city. He knows the town, the history and all its eateries very well. We met Alessandro for a kick start tour of Verona as we were only passing through for one day. His knowledge and enthusiasm for his home city was excellent! Alessandro came up with a fantastic personalised tour of Monte Baldo and its beautiful forests and mountain scenery and then we went along the shoreline of Lake Garda. Starting at the dramatically beautiful north end of the lake, down to the more popular and picturesque southern villages. He was informative and friendly and knew the best views, gelato stops, prettiest towns and food spots along the way. Alessandro was an incredible guide. He quickly took note of our interests and customized our tour. We got an insider’s view of the city, discovered back alleys, interacted with locals along the way, and got some great tips and info, including a fabulous restaurant recommendation where we later celebrated my wife’s birthday. We booked this tour as soon as we arrived in verona for 3 night break. This proved invaluable as we didn't waste time trying to find our way round. Maria Pia had to change our tour time due to an unexpected traffic accident to a colleague. But she accommodated us with an earlier time. The colleague hopefully will make a full recovery. Maria Pia took account that we were a mixed aged group of 5 people from 80 to 11! So she made it interesting for the teenagers and the 11 year old and even the old cynic!! Maria was a fun guide, with great stories (she pretty much performed the entire story of Romeo and Juliet in the park- complete with dramatic swordplay!) My goodness, what an experience. First, our guide is the utmost of professionals- she was ill but rather then make us worry, or cancel she found an amazing guide to take her place. Francesco texted us and met us promptly at the Arena. He found tidbits of information that were so interesting and kept the children thoroughly engaged. Francesco was a master story teller- and the love for his city shined brightly through his tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see beneath the surface- both literally and figuratively!Verona is more then meets the eye

Wir hatten die Tour „Kickstart Verona“ ursprünglich mit Fabio Massimo gebucht. Eine Woche vorher hat man uns informiert, dass statt Fabio nun Maria Pia die Tour durchführen würde. Also erwarteten wir sie am vereinbarten Treffpunkt. Stattdessen sprach uns dann eine junge Frau namens Maria an und erklärte ohne Angabe von Gründen, dass sie die Tour für Maria Pia übernehme. Sie war sehr freundlich und wusste auch einiges zu erzählen, aber wirkte insgesamt unvorbereitet und so liefen wir etwas planlos herum. Die Tour hatte nur wenig mit der Beschreibung zu tun und war für uns für den bezahlten Preis enttäuschend. Leider nicht so toll

A plate of not very good pasta and 2 glasses of wine did not live up to the 10 tastings promised. More knowledge from the guide about what was open on Easter Monday would have helped. Saw some interesting parts of Verona but a disappointing tour overall More of a history than a food tour

We were fortunate to book a tour of Verona with Alessandro recently. Him being born and raised in Verona provided us with an intimate glimpse into what Verona is all about. Having studied and worked in the US his command of the English language was perfect. At every turn of the tour he provided fascinating information regarding our next encounter, such as the meaning of the crenels on bridges and buildings. he also made sure we were introduced to the local food. We chose affogato and bruschetta and his choices of where to go and enjoy it was "perfecto". Alessandro was very informative and yet down to earth and relatable. I always read these reviews and think "it's a bot, or paid advertising", so let me start by saying I'm neither. Just a traveler from another country trying to have the best experience possible in Italy and Alessandro made that happen. Before even meeting he was extremely helpful in finding locations and restruants in near by cities and helping to navigate certain aspects that may be confusing for a foreigner. For our tour, sadly it was a rainy day, but it didn't stop us. He expertly guided us through the beautiful city of Verona pointing out things that anyone but a local would miss. Sharing stories of his personal past along side historic facts that were awe inspiring. He is truly a man of the people, everywhere we went we bumped into locals he knew and shared a laugh (and even a glass of wine). To put it plainly, we started with the best hot chocolate we've ever had, ended with the best pasta we've ever had and everything between was absolute perfetto!! Thank you again Alessandro, may your days be long and your wine glass always full. Perfetto!!!!

We had a wonderful day with Alessandro. It was an easy tour from the beginning. He picked us up at our hotel (right on time) and off we went into the countryside! He took the time to show us several beautiful spots along the way to Lake Garda. The winery at the end was really lovely. We got to meet the owners and it felt very special. We are on our way to Venice and he sent us some recommendations for that stay as well! It was a wonderful day and I recommend him very highly! Italy wins!!A wonderful day going to the lake

Maria is a knowledgable and cheerful guide. We learned a lot. This tour is good for people who can’t walk a lot or walk long distances as many stories are shared sitting in the sun on a bench. Only downsides are she took several phone calls during our tour and we were never offered a drink or snack as advertised.
