I was looking for a unique experience to tour the colosseum with my children (9 and 7- boys), keeping them engaged and interested and this was a disappointment. It was very history heavy and they quickly lost interest. If you’re looking for an in-depth understanding of Ancient Rome, this is a great tour but if you are looking for one that’s more interactive and holds kids’ attention, this isn’t it! We had such a great experience on our Colosseum tour with Valeria. She was very easy to deal with in the lead up and on the day it was really easy to find her among the crowds. The tour was fantastic. Valeria had amazing knowledge of all of the history of the Colosseum and was great at engaging our 12 and 9 year old daughters throughout, as well as accommodating my 79 year old mother. She even managed to keep us engaged and relatively dry when an unexpected thunder storm passed through! We would highly recommend her for future tours.Great Colosseum tour

We loved the Colosseum/Forum tour with Valeria. She is smart, interesting, and caring. When we originally booked for 10:30am, she wisely recommended we move earlier to avoid the sun and crowds. So smart! She knew the shortest lines for entering, and she guided us through the confusion of getting free tickets for 'under 18.' Valeria toured our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 toddlers 2,4) through the Roman forum and Colosseum. She was extremely flexible with our timing and kids needs and most of all she was very informative and carried excellent pictures, resources and books to help tell us the history of the historic place. Valeria was a great host and taught us lots about the colosseum and forum! Our kids are 8, and 5 year old twins. Mum and dad and our 8 year old found it all fascinating and Valeria had plenty of pictures and things which she loved looking at. The 5 year olds were not so interested, which we did expect, they are young! But they did make it up all the steps without too much complaining! Our whole day in Rome was a wonderful experience, not just the tour itself, because of Valeria. She gave us such excellent recommendations on gelato places and restaurants which made the day complete. The tour itself was really good despite the heat and crowds Valeria made it adaptable for our children to cope, keeping to the shade and finding quieter spots. She also gave us a good directions to find the Palace of Emperor Tiberius after the tour ended (a must see for us as our son is named Tiberius). The children had fun with the scavenger hunt she provided and they all got a prize which they liked. Overall totally worth it and made for a day never to forget. We visited the colosseum first. Valeria was ready for the kids and kept their attention until the end of the tour. She prepared a game and gave out prizes after. The next day at the Vatican she showed the kids how to get to the top of the basilica. I visited St. Peter’s three times already and this is the first time I heard that you can go on top of the dome. Valeria was a very enthusiastic tour guide. She spoke to our two children (11 and 13) and tried to ensure they were following along given the somewhat dry topic of various emperors events during our tour of Colosseum, Roman Forum and the Pantheon. She brought several notebooks with paintings and pictures to help illustrate the height of Rome and how the current ruins support that interpretation. She dispelled some of the Hollywood glory of gladiator battles and talked about the very short duration of gladiator battles. Valeria's English is very good and you won't have any trouble understanding her. We have visited Rome in the past (pre-children) and we would have no chance of keeping our kids engaged for 3 hours the way Valeria did. For that reason, the price-to-value ratio is a 10. Excellent English and tailored to us

Valeria did an amazing job engaging the entire family telling the history of ancient Romans in the Colosseum and at the Roman Forum.
