Joanna was a complete joy!!! Our two hours went by too fast. From the moment she reached out to us to check on any dietary restrictions, or to find out if we had any time constraints, she was very focused on ensuring we would have a great experience. She shared fun stories about each of the local spots she took us to. She engaged with our daughters and kept us all in mind as we tried different local foods. We were sad to have our tour end. She even extended an extra 30 minutes to make sure we fully enjoyed our time in the market. The short time we shared with Joanna quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. Recently we did a food tour with Adri. It’s great way to get introduced to food you may not order e.g. Cazón en adobo especially if you aren’t a fluent Spanish speaker. The food in the central Market was amazing - as was the vermouth to wash it down. Adri was great also explaining about general day to day life in Cádiz as well as giving us the history background. After the tour she messaged with the name of everything we had eaten so we knew how to order it again and also a list of restaurants/ wine bars she recommended. Joanna was an enthusiastic and engaging guide. She made us feel very comfortable straight away, gave us a view of the history of Cadiz and showed us some of the idiosyncrasies of the city. Some of the food experiences we would never have found on our own, she was able to talk about the provenance of the foods we tasted and we felt we were eating like the locals. My rating is not a criticism of Our guide Christina. She was interesting and tried to find tapas that we hadn’t tried yet. Our first try with her had to be rescheduled, because at the time of the original tour, everything was closed. Second time around was much better. We visited two different tapas places. One in the middle of the tourist area, the second definitely a local hangout. The site for the tours is very badly set up. Most of the times offered don’t take into consideration that everything in Cadiz shuts down from around 2-3 till 8pm. The price charged for the tour was highway robbery. I just hope the guide gets a decent portion of it. We paid €177 for the 2 of us. For that money we could have had dinner at the most expensive restaurant in Cadiz!Christina is a very good guide

We had a fantastic few hours in Cadiz with Joanna. Arriving on a cruise ship she met us right outside the port. We were a family group of ages 8-70 and Joanna accommodated all very well. We tried some wonderful food that was different to what we would try by ourselves in some fascinating places. Having visited Cadiz 3 times before we learnt loads we didn’t know and saw new places. As fairly typical reserved Brits, we simply wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the variety and exquisite flavours of Cádiz without Joanna’s friendly expertise. We started our food tour at 10.30am. The guide took us on a walking tour for an hour and a half, she was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. However, we didn’t eat or drink anything until our first stop around 12. This included a taste of local cows cheese, mostcatel and Russian salad. We then moved on to the market, where we stopped at 3 places, having goats cheese, local thinly sliced roast pork and wine at the first place, chicharrones at the second stop and ham croquets at the third stop. Despite the fact that we previously noted that one of the party was gluten intolerant and couldn’t eat fish, we feel that there weren’t many options to cater for them and that the rest of the party’s options were limited because of this. We were also expecting some more local tastings and something sweet to end the tour. Although the guide was lovely and showed us some interesting places, we feel this tour fell short of our expectations for 10 tastings and from previous experiences, including the lack of variety of foods tasted. The whole tour was fab. We did exactly what we had planned. Christina was great company very knowledgeable and fun. We tried local food and wine within the local market that we would not have known about so definitely would not be tried. The atmosphere at the market was great. My family of four just returned from a cruise to Spain and the UK. Instead of opting for the typical cruise shore excursions, we booked unique experiences with individual guides. Adriane was, hands-down, one of our favorites. She created a personalized itinerary based on our interests and showed us such warm hospitality, that it was a little sad to leave her and get back on the boat at the end of the day! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Joanna made our time in Cádiz unforgettable. She customized the tour based on things we wanted. We loved that she took us off the tourist path and ordered things for us to try. We had group of 21 and Cristia was wonderful with us. We had a 3 hour walking tour which turned into a 4 hour tour as there was so much to see and Cristina was so entertaining.
