There is just no other way to experience so much of Porto, Gaia, and the fishing villages around than on bike. Anselmo was amazing in navigating the terrain (you cannot completely avoid the hills) and getting us to beautiful views. His love of biking, his town and the people come shining through. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who can handle a bike well!The best local flavor by bike

Anselmo was a terrific host. The route was interesting passing a number of historical sites along the Duoro River towards the coast. The route took us off the beaten path along ancient city roads which was fantastic. One could walk few short sections depending one's comfort level with cobblestones or the incline. I highly recommend Anselmo. He is a very knowledgeable guide and an amazing cyclist. As Porto is hilly, you can ride the bike and get an amazing workout or even rent an e bike and just have a cruise. either way you cannot go wrong with hiring Anselmo to be your guide! i rate him 10 out of 10 as he is knowledgeable, experienced, and a super guy!Biking is a great way to see Porto

Anselmo was the best tour guide and he designed the perfect route with the right amount of challenge. Coming from Colorado and as an experienced cyclist, I wanted a challenging ride yet also to see the important sights of Porto. Anselmo delivered. It was a very fun way to see Porto and the alleyways, cobble stones, and trails through the parks made the ride fun and interesting. Next time I’m in Porto, I’ll be booking with Anselmo again. We had a wonderful bike tour of Porto with Anselmo. he provided a nice history of the city and pointed out interesting monuments along the way. My three kids ages 79 and 11 along with my husband and I all enjoyed the ride. We do not have hills or cobblestone streets where we live so it was a unique experience. There were some challenging short uphill parts, but Anselmo was patient And had no problem with us, taking breaks as needed. He even brought an extension for his own bike so my seven-year-old could pedal when She wanted or relax and let him pedal when she needed to rest. Porto is a beautiful city in Anselmo provided a fun filled activity for my family to enjoy together.Beautiful bike tour in Porto

Anselmo was a wonderful and fun tour guide. In fact, we would not have been able to book a bike tour at all if he had not provided his personal bike trailer so our youngest child could join! We really appreciated that he made this accommodation! He showed us interesting and beautiful views of Porto that were off the beaten path and kept the kids engaged. After the tour, he helped us figure out lunch plans and even helped us translate with the Uber driver. Anselmo seems to love his job and it showed in the efforts he put in to make it special for us. Anselmo was the perfect host for our active morning taking us up some less travelled, yet historic parts of the periphery of Porto. He was gracious enough to extend our route and take us over to a Gaia fishing village for a little snack and beverage as our pace allowed for it. This tour paired well with a walking tour of the historic area of Porto for our 3 day stay in Porto. Be sure to ask about the Wild Duck ;). Thanks for a memorable ride Anselmo.Scenic fun ride

Great starter of the day was this bike tour with Anselmo. We rode trough some narrow streets (Caminhos do Romântico) of Porto and ended up with great views over Porto, the Douro and the Atlantic. Anselmo told in an enthousiastic way the story of his city and was pleased to answer our question. He adapts the track, if needed, depending on the pace you ride. It was an ideal experience to start our stay in Porto.Very nice exploration of urban Porto

Anselmo gives a tour reflecting his love of Porto and his contagious energy level! Cycling with him made gave us access to back streets and neighbourhoods no tourist would ever find. Plus the stunning views from the bridge!! You earn them following Anselmo confidently in narrow cobblestone roads with no traffic at all. We booked a tour with Anselmo, but had to change it from bike to walk. Anselmo was flexible and made a tour that fitted us perfect. We saw parts of Porto that we wouldn’t have found ourself. Anselmo is super friendly person, an experienced cyclist and knowledgeable about Porto and it's history. The tour was great fun. For the most part we kept away from the busy roads in Porto, cycling through hidden back streets which showed a different side of Porto. This was ideal for me. We stopped a number of times to find out more about local landmarks, or to have an amazing view of the river and the concrete bridge. Gigi and I spent an amazing Sunday morning exploring the alley ways, roads, and bridges of Porto with Anselmo! From the moment we met , one couldn’t help getting caught up in the excitement, love, and knowledge that Anselmo shared about his beloved city The bikes were excellent and we went to areas of the city we would not have seen had we not been with Anselmo . Some of the views of the river and ocean were breathtaking and to travel by bike was exhilarating and fun. Anslemo guided us through the from Porto to Gaia tour. Unfortunately we couldn’t take the ferry to Gaia, but it was a great tour, sometimes tough but with great views. What a nice trip and such a good and friendly guide! We have been on the road with Anselmo for two days. We have asked for the not touristic route, just wanted to see the "undiscovered" places. He made two great days for us. With many varied views and fun anecdotes. In addition, he also has good tips in terms of restaurants and trips outside Porto. We will definitely come back to Porto again and hope to be able to book Anselmo again as a guide. * (Good to know, we did our trip on a mountain bike). Fantastic, book Anselmo!

Mit Anselmo unterwegs, ging die Zeit auf dem Velo flugs vorbei. Er führte mich an Orte mit tollen Aussichten etwas abseits, wo herkömmliche Touristen normalerweise nicht hinkommen. Anselmo hat eine angenehme, freundliche Art, man merkt, dass es ihm Spass macht, den Fremden unterwegs auf dem Velo seine Stadt Porto näherzubringen. Ich war froh, dass er mir in einfachem Englisch alles gut verständlich erklären konnte. Die Fahrt mit dem Velo war abwechslungsreich und die paar Steigungen bei den alten Römerstrassen trotz meinem Alter gut zu bewältigen. An seine lustigen Anekdoten zum Beispiel wie der Portwein nach Porto kam, werde ich mich noch lange erinnern. Leider konnte die Bootsfahrt zwischen Porto und Gaia nicht stattfinden, da der Fährbetrieb zur Zeit eingestellt ist.Kurzweilig und entdeckungsreich
