The pancake dinner with Mark was an amazing experience. He made a variety of Dutch pancakes, and they were delicious. Mark had invited some of his friends over, and it was like spending an evening with old friends. Everyone was friendly and shared information about their lives in Amsterdam. I highly recommend this to anyone. It is a great experience and I will keep an eye out for it when we visit Amsterdam in the future.Great food; even better company

We didn't know what to expect, this was our first time. Mark was great, very friendly and easy to find. The dinner was beyond amazing, he prepared for hours to make it a special evening. We absolutely recommend this experience for any small group. Excellent experience!

We talked a lot about the city and its people and at the end of the evening we had a full list of what places we wanted to visit in Amsterdam. My family (husband and 2 teenage kids) went to Mark’s place for dinner on our first night in Amsterdam. It was a truly wonderful experience. Mark and his two friends made us feel so welcome and at ease. The food was good, the conversation flowed so easily and even my kids enjoyed themselves. We came from the middle of nowhere Montana to learn the best kept secret between Mark and his friends, old and new. Our two sons 8 & 10 had been watching pancake videos on youtube a month before the trip. They were well versed and had set their expectations high for the smells, tastes and yummy goodness to enjoy. I can tell you that Mark did not let us down. His crafting, skill and knowledge of the pancake oozed with every delicious bite. You will get what you pay for, that is for sure. What you get for free was the best part! His friends both local and long distance made for some very good conversation. The enrichment of that social cultural interaction combined with the easy going atmosphere of his wonderful cats and music to listen to from his many LP 33 1/3 records to pick from. I spent over 20 minutes looking thru his collection and chose a Beatles classic to set the mood for food, fun and a all around good time. I highly recommend you take this adventure on if you are fortunate enough to do so, we are glad we did.Best kept secret among friends in town!

Mark and his friends met us at his place and proceeded to cook an incredible stack of pancakes,. I am allergic to cheese so mine were apple cinnamon and some ones with bacon. We had a fabulous evening with Mark. He is so laid back. He invited lots of friends as well as us and I think we had about five nationalities. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The pancakes were fab and plenty of them ranging from sweet to savoury. It was one of the best evenings of the holiday and we would certainly recommend it. It is well worth the money you pay. Would go again if we are ever in Amsterdam again. Thanks again Mark.Great time.

Mark was a superb host and made me feel welcome and comfortable immediately. Several of his friends also came around and were equally friendly and sociable. He had invited me early to watch the Women's football World Cup final (despite my being American!) and we then had delicious homemade pancakes and chatted before playing a board game (Rummikub). Would highly recommend for a proper Amsterdam experience - and I would love to visit Mark and his friends again if the opportunity arose. Our evening with Mark was perfect. My son and I enjoyed 2.5 hrs of high quality and welcoming social exchange. Mark invited a multicultural group of friends (all spoke English) for our evening who were all sincerely interested in spending time exchanging stories and cultural perspectives. Each person present was open-minded, engaging, and unique. There was never an uncomfortable moment. It was a splendid way to start our week in The Netherlands. We had a great time and this was one of the highlights of our trip! Mark was a wonderful host and made an incredible stack of pancakes. We had four delicious types to devour: apple & cinnamon, goat cheese & pine nuts, gouda, and plain. Fresh fruit and other toppings were available although the pancakes were so good we hardly needed them! Mark invited some of his friends and everyone was so down to earth and chill. Mark and his friends are definitely people worth meeting when in Amsterdam : they're super nice, fun, open-minded and knowledgeable about many different topics. We spent hours chatting away about cultures, travels, sports, and so on. Most importantly, the pancakes were delicious : Mark spent hours frying them for us. My college-age daughter and I spent an evening at Mark's. He asked if we were okay with inviting a couple of friends of his and we said yes. Mark provided a very unique experience to two Canadians, a granny and 13 year old grandson. Other invited locals made for interesting conversation and an evening described as unforgettable! Mark welcomes one to his home with a generous beverage list, gourmet pancakes and great jazz. Mark is a real great host who enjoys preparing homemade pancakes for others. Bbelieve it or not, he fried an incredible 2.5 hours to satisfy our teenagers hearty appetite. There were also other guests (Mark asked us before inviting them) who added to the really entertaining evening. The weather was mild engough to sit on Mark's terrace, and the pancakes were absolutely delicious. There is a great choice of sweet and salty ones, so everyone will find their favourite! I have chosen Amsterdam to celebrate my 30th birthday and going to have pancakes at Mark's happened to be the best thing I've done in my short visit there. He has been an amazing host from the moment my friend and I entered his house and he's helped us see Amsterdam from a different perspective than I was prepared. I was really impressed with the kindness, humbleness and gallantry we were welcomed. Visiting Mark was my first experience in Amsterdam, where I stayed for 4 more nights and also first time I visited someone local like this. Mark is a great host, he also invited some friends over so we had a lot to talk about, everybody was speaking great English and I felt like visiting friends at home. Pancakes were super delicious with many flavours, but the best were with goat cheese and pine nuts topped with caramel syrup. These pancakes are a MUST TRY for everyone :) We had nice drinks, listened to nice music and I really enjoyed the evening. At the end Mark drove me to my hostel on his bike - very funny experience - thank you so much, I will remember that. I also joined Mark and his friends for bootcamp in amazing Vondelpark. Great! I will never forget this experience :) We felt like visting a friend who cooked for us. We really enjoyed it! Thank you Mark to feel so local with you! This was my first experience with with locals and it was very great! During a Europe journey with my girlfriend we stayed in Amsterdam for just one night. Mark is a very open minded person and picked us up at a train station next to his apartment. He invited some friends for us, so we didn't feel like special guest and met other locals. He made amazing pancakes for us, we've got a nice talk with him and his friends and got nice drinks :) We felt like visting a friend who cooked for us. We really enjoyed it! If you want to meet one true Dutch gentleman during your stay in Amsterdam, meet Mark. He is a sporty, handsome, kind and generous young man who works wonders in the kitchen to prepare you some seriously delicious Dutch pancakes. As if this isn’t enough, he will make you feel right at home at his place where he lives with his two cats and a great collection of vinyl, this kid knows good music people! This experience at Host Mark in Amsterdam was great. Mark lives near the center and is easily accessible by subway. Mark is very friendly, sporty, open and sociable and he lives with his two lovely cats. We ate a mountain of delicious pancakes with raisins, syrup, cheese and ham together with some friends of mark. Everyone loves pancakes. And at the end sweet ice-cream for dessert. During dinner we listened to beautiful music. The musical taste of mark is amazing.
