I had a last minute oppurtunity to tour Verona and Alex happened to be available. He catered the tour to the flow of questions and time allowance we had. It was a great mix of history, food, and of course he even mixed in some wine. Alex knows his city and wasted no time navigating from one point to another. He even has a few tricks up his sleeve to find access to places that may not be so easily accessible. I had a great time spending the afternoon with Alex and I am sure you will too!Great custom tour

We made a last minute reservation with Izabela for a 2.5-hour walking tour of Verona. It was so much fun! Izabela provided interesting historical notes and showed us some cool off-the-beaten-path locations. She went above and beyond by providing some restaurant and general food tips. Her tips on Amarone wine were particularly helpful when we were checking out the menu later that night. We can't recommend Izabela enough!Izabela is the best!

I booked this tour as a present for my parents. Tullia contacted us a week or two before the tour telling us she couldn't make it on the agreed date, which was a dissapointment at first of course. But she then did everything she could to help us find a replacement and managed to get Izabela to guide the tour instead. Izabela was great. My parents were very happy with her expertise and told me her english was very good. She took good care of them and made sure to show them things they were interested in. This of course means that I can't review how a tour with Tullia would have been, but I appreciate that she took the time to find a replacement instead of just cancelling. We always have positive experiences with ‘withlocals’ and Izabela has given a further proof of the such fact. Izabela has been available even days before the tour by providing advices on where to park and what to do, she was very flexible by modifying the tour according to our needs. We booked a day trip to Lake Garda and the surrounding area with Alessandro on February 13 25, He was prompt to the hotel and our journey was on. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, it was foggy and drizzly. But Alessandro did his best to keep us entertained. We stopped at several villages and took in the history of the area. We concluded our day trip with a tour of a local Winery, what a great way to finish the day. I would do another tour with Alessandro,he is knowledgeable,courtesy and helpful. We have been on a lot of tasting tours in various cities. We do it as a way to acclimate ourselves. Alessandro’s tour wasn’t the typical where you eat something, walk a couple blocks, eat something else. He took us out on the town in his city. He showed it to us as a proud son of Verona, imbuing history and coloring it with the personal. We did duck into places to try a nibble here or sit down in one place to try several bites. One eatery he wanted to showcase wasn’t open, but it was okay. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our stay—many of which we tried. His recommendations were spot on. Do yourselves a favor when you come to Verona and book an evening tour with Alessandro. He will set you up for success for the rest of your trip.The best first night in Verona

Our tour guide was not available on the day, but sent another “Maria” in her place which was kind of her. Our Maria was an absolute delight from the moment we met her. We learned so much about the history of Verona, from the Romans to the families who influenced the culture and customs under various rulers and factions. We met Alessandro on a very rainy day for a tour of Verona. He took us to some amazing places, including a very old wine shop, fantastic pizza (the best we've had in Italy), and all of the important sites. Alessandro showed us his favorite places in addition to his childhood school. He was very interesting, fun, and knowledgable. Alessandro came up with a fantastic personalised tour of Monte Baldo and its beautiful forests and mountain scenery and then we went along the shoreline of Lake Garda. Starting at the dramatically beautiful north end of the lake, down to the more popular and picturesque southern villages. He was informative and friendly and knew the best views, gelato stops, prettiest towns and food spots along the way. My husband and I met with Alessandro near to where we were staying at his suggestion which was very helpful. He showed us lots of things we would have missed without his help. We enjoyed tasting some wine and nibbles while we chatted and explored Verona, we would have book another tour if we were in Verona again. Alessandro was an incredible guide. He quickly took note of our interests and customized our tour. We got an insider’s view of the city, discovered back alleys, interacted with locals along the way, and got some great tips and info, including a fabulous restaurant recommendation where we later celebrated my wife’s birthday. We booked this tour as soon as we arrived in verona for 3 night break. This proved invaluable as we didn't waste time trying to find our way round. Alessandro was a very good guide; he was personable, knowledgeable and informative. If this were a history tour, I would have rated the tour a "7". However, the tour was advertised as a food tour with "10 tastings". We had 3 (one stop for gelato, one stop for a glass of wine, and one stop for tortellini). The reason we signed up for this tour was to get a food tasting experience in Verona. We did not get that. It was a very good city/history tour, but very overpriced for its kind. Truth in advertising is important. Not a "food tour" as advertised

Alessandro is een zeer aardige man met veel kennis. Hij heeft de tour aangepast op onze wensen. Veel uitleg over de stad en de verschillende culturen. We hebben 3 food stops gehad en een aantal wijn tastings. Dus ga niet uit van 10 stops, je zit ook echt vol na de 3 stops. Juist omdat het gepersonaliseerd is op jou wensen is dit ideaal en proef je ook de dingen waar jou voorkeur naar uitgaat. Een goede leerzame en leuke tour!

It was the first Time for us in Verona and we had tickets for Nabucco in the evening. Days before the guided tour, we received confirming messages from Alessandro, which was very welcome and comforting as we then knew that everything would go to Plan. On the day we met Alessandro Right in front of our accomodation - Right on Time. During our tour we got a lot of detailed Information from a very Knowledgable Guide. We also stopped at several traditional Cafés, Restaurants, best Pizza Shops and best Gelati in town. Not only did we speak about the history of Verona and it’s architecture, but also about how it feels to Live in Verona today. Alessandro is well-known and has a good network, as we Met a number of his Friends during the tour. It was an intense and holístic experience and gave a lot of Inspiration for our own walks through Verona‘s rich history. Alessandro also organized ( and paíd, to our surprise - and of course, we paid him back, although he did. Not ask ) for Drinks and Food during the tour. Never would we have found the hidden places, recommended and explained by Alessandro. And with this Information we were able to have Dinner in the best Restaurants to our Taste and budget. Alessandro did Not repeat a once-and-for-all Tour, but adjusted the tour, information and conversation to our needs. We can fully recommend a tour through Verona guided by a very competent, friendly and Open Alessandro !Verona for Beginners

This was our third tour with locals and have been very happy with each. Isabel’s picked us up and then took us to many locations throughout the Garda Lake and Volpolicelli area. Started with a wine tasting with one of the winery owners who is 6th generation family owners. Great information in casual setting with great tasting wines. Moved into Garda Lake where we made various sites for lunch and scenery . Isabella was very informative and attentive to what we were interested in seeing.
