Let me start with, I love Bangkok, all people and am a patient and kind person, and I had a great tour the day before with Taungtip, so this review is not easy for me. The food was great, but the guide was impatient, not necessarily kind to me, honestly a bit rude, and I felt like I was a bother. I was a trooper, struggling with a morning taxi with school traffic, grabbing a poncho in the downpour, riding a tuk tuk with no sides in the pouring rain, and not once did I complain or ask to alter the tour, because weather can’t be helped and I’m from a wet place, so it’s all good. However, every time I tried to chat with her about good, culture or traditions or ask a question, it turned into some sort of unfriendly conversation that sometimes made me feel ridiculed and wrong. She laughed at me several times and was condescending. Maybe she was having a bad day? Maybe she didn’t like having a solo traveler? She boxed up leftovers to take home to her mom, very kind of her, but she never asked me if I’d like any. The tour wandered aimlessly, literally, and at the end of the tour when I was waiting for my Grab taxi, she literally walked away without saying goodbye. I had to chase her down to say goodbye and give her a tip. So, the food and sights and sounds were great, the guide was not. Maybe somehow I offended her without knowing? I would love to know what was wrong. Sadly, not the best day

We had the best day with Piyaporn! She is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and our food tour was perfect. We wanted an authentic experience with off-the-beaten-path food, and she delivered! We traveled by canal boat and tuk tuk from place to place, where she shared food and the history of each dish. We ate street food in small alleys and in Michelin guide shops. It was tailored to our taste and could not have been more perfect! Real thai cuisine!!

Me and my husband went on this tour with Piyaporn and we absolutely loved it. She showed us the market and all the food, but she also explained a lot about Thai culture and history. She was very knowledgeable. And the food that we tried was amazing! Definitely don't hesitate to book it if you're thinking about it.. we'd definitely recommend this tour! Great tour with Piyaporn!

The old town food tour more than exceeded our expectations with visits to hidden local market stalls that have been mastering their specialty dishes for locals and royalty for many many years (some over 100 years!). The stalls were in the back streets and market areas only the locals knew about and it was amazing to enter a shop, and see a sign saying it has featured in the Michelin Guide. Some of the places we stopped at had only a couple of small plastic tables and we sat on plastic stools like the local to eat the delicious traditional food. So many different places and food to try that we had to say to Piyaporn near the end that we couldn't eat much more. The places we ate at were all very clean and it was reassuring to know that we wouldn't be struck down from eating street food. The mango sticky rice was my favourite, but every dish had its special flavour and we ended up trying new dishes we had never heard of before. The river trip on the local 'ferry' was exciting too, with us boarding and disembarking like the locals do! Piyaporn was a fantastic guide, always checking in with us with what we like and don't like (not much!) and telling us lots of interesting things about the food and stall owners. At the end I wanted to buy some spices to take home, and Piyaporn even came with us to Chinatown to show us where to buy them. This has to be one of the best food tours we have been on and would highly recommend Piyaporn to help you experience the real flavours of Bangkok. We are a family of four (2 teenagers) and we did the Eat like a local in Old Town Tour. Piyaporn was welcoming and friendly from the start and was very knowledgeable and took us to places we would never have normally gone to or seen. All 10 courses were excellent. This was the highlight of our time in Bangkok. She also gave us recommendations for the rest of our time there. Top Tour- highly recommended

Piyaporns tour of the old city exceeded my expectations in everyway. She is very personable and her knowledge of the history of Bangkok was very impressive. We visited very old markets, and ate from vendors that have been operating for up to 80 years in the one family. The food was amazing! The Michelin star rated Mango & Sticky rice will be the best you have ever tried. She tailored the tour to suit my interests, but also managed to show me a side of Bankok I would never have seen without her guidance. Highly recommend this tour with Piyaporn. We booked our tour of the Old Town markets of Bangkok with Piyaporn. she was a remarkable guide...friendly with very good English, and, like us , passionate about food! Although this tour involves some waking and it was a very hot day, we thought this was our best tour in Bangkok. It involves catching a water ferry up a canal with the local, as well as a couple of tuk tuk rides, so wouldn’t be suitable for people with mobility issues. For those who take this tour, there are fascinating visits to tiny food shops that you would never find alone. Some have been operating for generations and many only prepare one dish.As the tour progresses, you effectively enjoy a moving feast, enjoying wonderful authentic Thai street food , both sweet and savoury with excellent commentary from Priyaporn. We cannot rave enough or recommend more our food tour with Piyaporn. It was the absolute highlight of our 4 days in Bangkok. We walked and talked, caught local boats and tuktuk’s. Explored places you would never go as a tourist with limited time and ate fruits I didn’t know existed. The food on this tour was beyond amazing, by the end you will be totally stuffed. That mango sticky rice was 💯👌🏼 Thank you so much for our amazing day out. The insite into Thai culture and politics (it was election time), temples and religion all added to the experience, we loved it!!Best experience of Bangkok

A big thanks to Piyaporn for organizing this trip. We have travelled to Bangkok multiple times, yet she managed to show us places and areas we have never come across. We Got to experience lokal markers (literally no tourists) and traditional Thai food. Her English and humor is great, which makes for an easy going experience. Visiting Ayutthaya with Guide Piya and a private driver was the best decision for our family of 3. Piya was funny and witty. She provided fascinating insights on the temples and ruins we visited; she guided us through sites at the optimal times to avoid crowds and with the convenience of the minivan, we had time to squeeze in a delicious lunch in our 6 hour day trip. Piyaporn was an incredible guide for our trip to Ayutthaya. She was so accommodating, knowledgeable and so friendly and the driver was also amazing and so helpful throughout the entire day. There happened to be a local market that pops up a few times a year and she was so gracious with guiding us through the different local crafts and foods that came from all over Thailand even though it deviated from the original itinerary. It was such a fun day to meet Piyaporn and and get to explore outside of Bangkok. The train market was one of a kind and Piyaporn did a great job navigating the area and best places to take photos. We found some awesome souvenirs. Also - she got our picture in front of the train after it stopped. On the way to the floating market we got a snack at a local vendor - what a fun experience!! The floating market and exploring around it was one of a kind. Great way to see how people live and then get an opportunity to shop. Overall, great day of exploring and shopping! :) Great Day!

Piyaporn is a true gem, what a truly unique experience we had of the floating markets, sampling amazing foods and seeing Bangkok from a different angle, on a wonderful boat ride along the canals! It was my daughter’s birthday and Piyaporn organised for us to go to the temple and ‘give merits’ as the Thai people do on their birthdays, and get a special blessing from the monk. She will never forget that experience. THANK YOU Piyaporn for looking after us all so well, we had an incredible time! A truly unique experience!

We had a fantastic time from start to finish. Piyaporn is an experienced and excellent guide. She is very knowledgable as well as fair about Thai history as well as culture. Took us through all the historical sites on our own pace, which was very nice. She also brought us to a delicious lunch place during the trip. And she dropped us off at the Chatuchak Market at the end of the trip and gave us tips on how to navigate the massive weekend market. Highly recommended!A Great Experience

Myself and my family loved our tour of Khlong Lat Mayom and the canals with Piyaporn. The custard sticky rice and fried bananas included as snacks in the opening of the tour were very yummy, the long boat tour gave an insight into life on the canals, and my parents loved the beautiful flowers at the orchid farm. When we returned to the market Piyaporn was very helpful in food selection, explaining that many locals go to the market to eat bbq so it was a good choice. We found the tour child friendly for a 3 year old, and Piyaporn even treated my son to a delicious ice cream. She is a very knowlegable and friendly host. And Khlong Lat Mayom is worth a trip out of the city centre for delicious authentic food and affordable hand made crafts and souvenirs. A fantastic food and cultural experience

We experienced so many great food tastes of Thailand with Piyaporn as our guide. We especially enjoyed tasting different varieties of mango, mangostein, melon, young coconut, and a seasonal fruit only found in Thailand in March through April. Although we enjoyed tasting different Thai regional foods at different locations, we felt that the best variety of Thai regional cooked/street food was at the vegetable/fruit market where Piyaporn excels at explaining the type of foods and ingredients of each dish. Glad we took you dear Piyaporn! started the day early by her recommendation, but then needed a good coffee, and thankfully, the sweet driver and her stopped at our favorite spot and waited even though traffic is a challenge! appreciate it! Piyaporn has great knowledge, and we received all info by her, then my mom wanted to put on costumes and take pictures, and at the end og the trip, my parents were very tired (arrived in Thailand the day before) and we wanted to shorten the trip. Everything was accepted with a big smile, she took some amazing photos for us and I'm very happy we got to see Ayyutthaya and learn a lot about the area and history. Thank you! :) Thank you!

Piya was a delight to walk Bangkok with. She planned a tour that touched on many facets of the city while staying comfortable in high temperatures. She was knowledgeable, kind, and attuned to the interests of all of us. Our 3 hour tour lasted 4 and a half hours and brought us through markets, malls, and temples. Piyaporn gave us an interesting and personalized tour of Bangkok that included many places we would have never found on our own. We tried new foods, learned how to fold lotus leaves and visited local markets. She is very knowledgeable about Thai history and the city. It was an excellent tour!An excellent tour of hidden gems!

We had a truly wonderful experience with Piyaporn. She was informative, kind, fun to be with, and really went out of her way to show us the area, the foods in the market and to ensure that we had an incredible tour. I would highly recommend her and this tour to anyone. I appreciated that it included the motorized boat tour at the end when we went through the neighborhood on the water by the temple. That was interesting to see and not something other tours offered. A truly wonderful experience

We really enjoyed our time with Piyaporn. She is a great and experienced guide. We understand much better the Buddhism and Thai culture after this tour. Piyaporn knows a lot about Buddhism. It was great to be able to speak to a monk. It was a hot day and she paid attention to find fresh places, offered us drinks, and took the time. We can highly recommend her!

This was a really great experience, especially since my 4 teenagers can sometimes lose interest fast. Not this time! The day had just enough enough switching of activities to keep everyone happy as we didn't stay in any one place (or boat) too long. The van they picked us up in couldn't have been nicer - I mean it was first class! At the floating market, the canal boat ride we took before we switched to a paddle boat for the floating market was really nice - we enjoyed seeing the different 'neighborhoods' and we saw several huge monitor lizards. I do feel like going with With Locals made the experience better than most of those I have done with Get Your Guide or Viator. It was the little things like Piyaporn taking the initiative to grab things for us at the floating market (that she paid for) like bananas fried in coconut milk, coconut ice cream, mango sticky rice, etc. She would just grab something and say "Try this!". Or the cold wet towels when we got back in the van at the end of the day to head home. And the super nice driver we had. And I'm not sure if it happens on every booking, but we also got to make a quick stop (on the canal tour) at a property with some amazing old Chinese boats and some of the most beautiful large Thai carvings I have seen since arriving. I wasn't sure if driving an hour and half from Bangkok would be worth it but it totally was. I've never seen anything like the floating market and when you couple that with canal tour, the railway market and coconut farm - it was a total yes for us. And I would absolutely book with With Locals again. My family of 6 was well taken care of

She navigated around the sites really well, had interesting information pitched at the right level and also picked a great lunch spot which gave us an insight into another aspect of Thai culture (food!) in addition to the fascinating history. We had a wonderful food tour with Piyaporn! We tasted several different street foods, a few dishes at a restaurant, and many tastings at the local market. The food was phenomenal and we tried a diversity of dishes. She explained how the food was made, the cultural/regional significance, and the history of Thailand. We never felt rushed and she made it easy for us because she took care of everything (ordering food, paying for it, ordering a tuk tuk ride to the market). The day after the tour, Piyaporn sent us recommendations for local restaurants near our hotel and near the sites we saw that day. As expected, they were delicious!
