We had a lovely day with Tomas. We met in Barcelona and travelled to Montserrat together via train and tram. While he kept apologizing for the foggy weather and lack of visibility, we felt it added to the mystery of the mountain. :) Tomas was knowledgeable, kind, friendly, confident and a great person to travel with! The six hour day gave us time to tour the immediate area and hear the boys choir. The train ride/connections takes almost 2 hrs each way. If you are hoping to explore the mountain make sure you opt for a much longer tour. Lovely visit to Monstserrat

Tomas was patient with us as we went to wrong meeting place and were trying to get to him at the plaza near the train station. We made it and he got our tickets and got us on the least crowded train. He was very friendly, enthusiastic and you could tell how much he loved sharing the experience at Montserrat. We even made it into the church during Mass which was really special. Tomas took many photos of us and before we left we sampled some lovely cheese from the vendors, who had many cheeses and honey. Perfect day. Montserrat

When travelling with my 80 year old parents and 15 year old son I wanted to have a guide to show us Monserrat. Alan was perfect! As soon and he met us outside the hotel we all felt comfortable and knew we were in very good hands. Alan had the day trip planned flawlessly… we took the train and cable car up the mountain which allowed us the enjoy the amazing scenery. We then took the rack train down the mountain, which was wonderful as we experienced both ways. Alan’s vast and detailed knowledge explained the history and present day importance of this majestic place. He also helped us to make sense of other pieces of related history that I didn’t quite understand and how they play a roll in shaping the present. With his intelligence, warm personality and humour the day went by to fast! He was able to engage my parents as well as a teenager!! We loved our time with Alan and I confidently recommend him 110%! Lusi met us in BCN and took us to Montserrat. It was obvious she knew exactly how to do it. She knew the train times down to the minute, had tickets for our family for everything (included ), and knew lots of the workers along the way. She got us 1st class treatment and preference in lines of others who didn't have a guide. I was impressed. While I could have self guided this day trip myself it would have been a headache and not nearly as efficient. Worth every euro! Highly rec. Very organized. Took care of EVERYTHING.

Our day trip to Montserrat with Alan was amazing. We learned so much and had a lot of fun getting to know Alan and hearing about his experiences in Spain. He took care of all our tickets in advance and knew how to time the day well so we weren’t feeling rushed. There were a lot of logistics in getting to Montserrat and going into the basilica and we truly just got to enjoy the experience. It was like visiting a really knowledgeable friend in another city. We were a group of colleagues who visited Montserrat on a Sunday afternoon. Marcelo was an incredible guide. Not only was he knowledgeable and full of information about the history and significance of all the places he showed us, he showed us the best vantage spots for pictures, and even clicked photos patiently for us. He was also full of practical tips like running to get in line for the cable car to ensure that we were the first ones on board. As the wind picked up and the weather started getting cold, Marcelo also provided us with warm caps and scarves from his bag...I can safely say that this is above and beyond what we expected! The tour was great - not just because of the destination of Montserrat, but also because of the thoughtful way in which the travel was organized...cable car up and railway down. Marcelo even advised which seats to take for the best views. Will strongly recommend Marcelo for any tour in Catalunya, I know that I will certainly call him when I am there next.Amazing Montserrat with Marcelo

Our day spent exploring Montserrat with Marcel could not have been better. He guided us through taking the train and cable car and funicular and knew so much about the site. His knowledge made the day, so interesting, but he did not talk too much like some tour guides do where it becomes overwhelming. He shared all of the right information and was so much fun to spend the day with. The tour with Ivanna to Montserrat was extremely beautiful. It might have taken a little bit more time to do that. But for a first visit, having a tour guide was ideal. The arrival was by train and from there by cable car up. Really an incredible experience. Ivanna had organized everything perfectly so that despite the many visitors on site, we made good progress. Even after that, Ivanna was always available, making recommendations on what to see in Barcelona and gave tips for the best restaurants and bars in town. Lusi was fun, energetic and caring. We took a trip to Montserrat and then did a food tour for dinner after. She was knowledgeable and went above and beyond. Great day trip if you're in Barcelona for more than a few days. Absolutely breathtaking views from Monserrat. Make sure your guide takes you on the short hike (moderate to medium difficulty) to get to the cross where you can see the Pyreenes and the border with France - absolutely gorgeous and serene. Sebastian was a great guide who knew a lot about the history of the monestary. You could also tell he's done the tour many times as he timed everything perfectly (you need to take a cable car up/down from the monestary and then a train in/out of Barcelona). He also gave us the advice that Saturday was a great day to visit as Sundays are incredibly crowded as many from the region travel for the Sunday church services. Magic at Montserrat

We had a super day with Elvira at Montserrat. It was a 6 hour day and you might be worried about spending that much time with someone you don’t know… have no fear!! She is easy to talk to and has a beautiful smile that puts you at ease. She readily share information about Barcelona (food places, things to do and culture) outside of information specific to the trip. We easily filled the 1 hour train ride with conversation. We were a family of 5. She pivoted easily as the cable car wasn’t working but still managed to get us to the top. We did an amazing walk to the black Madonna. It’s a bit steep on the way back, but worth it. My sister didn’t do it, so she gave her alternatives to see at the top. She shared with us some local food sold by neighboring vendors. We saw the boys choir. Really delightful day. I would definitely contact Elvira again if I come back to Barcelona!’Excellent Day with Elvira!

Sabastian was great. He was on time at the meeting place. He navigated us through the train and cable car experience. We hiked up to the cross and viewed the Monastery. We absolutely loved our Montserrat tour with Lusi. Lusi was knowledgable and very funny. She took us around to all important sites and we also hiked to Saint Michael's cross.
