Maja and I communicated prior to meeting regarding tickets, and logistics. We met on time (yay!) at the designated spot, and Maja was friendly and got to know us a bit before heading into the Accademia. She was very knowledgable and we visited the most important and interesting things there. On the walk from the Accademia to the Uffizi, Maja gave us a bit of a walking tour, and pointed out historical and interesting facts, but also chatted with us about our lives and her own. It was really nice to make a connection. At the Uffizi, again, we touched on the highlights and learned a lot - she also got to know what the most interesting things were for our family and made sure she customized based on this. She was incredibly accommodating, friendly, knowledgable and we had a GREAT time!Maja was GREAT!

We had an amazing time with Omar in *his* neighborhood, Sant’Ambrogio. He was born and raised here, and you could feel that all day - proud of the neighborhood and happy to share it with others. Michele’s knowledge of the history of the renaissance as it applied to the Medici family and the leading artists of the time was presented in an engaging and understandable manner. Metal pictures of the events could be conjured up with his excellent narration. This was perhaps enhanced by both his art history background and his acting abilities to present both a factual as well as an engaging picture of the times. What a great time with Maja who accommodated our time restraints and especially our need for pizza! We had all visited Florence in the past and looked at all the beautiful sights, but we lacked understanding of the city, its history and its people. And most of all, the hidden things that are sometimes in plain sight, like the secure passageway between Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti. We’ve visited Palazzo Vecchio which we knew already… or that’s what we thought :) Maja made us see it from the Medicis’ perspective, as if it was a travel in time! What a journey!!! We booked a private Uffizi highlights tour with Alessia for €255. Unfortunately, she never contacted us in advance and only responded when I messaged her the morning of—at which point she canceled, saying she was sick. While we understand that things happen, there was no proactive communication. We also weren’t told that we needed to purchase our own museum admission tickets. The listing states “skip the line access,” so we assumed the tour fee would be paid to the guide. This should be clearly outlined in the tour description and confirmed ahead of time by the guide. Thankfully, Maja stepped in at the last minute and was truly fantastic. She was warm, knowledgeable, and brought the art to life with stories and historical context that made the Uffizi unforgettable. We’d rate Maja a 10 out of 10 and would absolutely recommend her. That said, since Alessia did not communicate proactively or officially transfer the booking, our overall experience with the original guide was a generous 7 of 10.

Dina took us on a great tour of the Uffizi Gallery and the Accademia Gallery. She was very responsive in planning our tour and made adjustments based on what I requested. She was willing to do less than the usual 4 hour tour since we thiught that would be too long for us. Dina was such a great guide that she made our time at the museums one of our favorite activities. This walking tour through Florence was absolutely unforgettable! “The History of Florence: Famous Medici Family & Pitti Palace Tour” was the perfect blend of rich history, beautiful architecture, and fascinating storytelling. We began at the iconic Odeon Theatre, a wonderful spot that set the tone for the tour with its old-world charm. From there, we explored the grand Pitti Palace, once home to the powerful Medici family, where we learned captivating stories about their influence over Florence and Europe. One of the unexpected highlights was a visit to the official Santa Maria Novella perfumery, a hidden gem full of centuries-old recipes and heavenly scents. Right nearby, the majestic Santa Maria Novella Church left us in awe with its frescoes and peaceful beauty. We were especially moved by the Medici tombs and museums, where history came alive through the stories of power, politics, and art.
