There were 6 of us on the tour with Frank. We’re all gardeners, and Frank made a point of showing us interesting plants, such as the oldest Plane tree in Italy. He gave us a ton of information about the history of the area, making it fun for us by giving us “points” for remembering important facts. He checked often that we were absorbing what he told us and would say things in different ways to make sure we got it. He had several visual aids (maps, old photos, etc) that helped bring history alive. Thoroughly enjoyable and valuable 3 hours!Fun, personal view of downtown Verona

We have recently returned from our visit to Verona and Lake Garda and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our tour of The Verona Arena and surrounding area with Francesco. We had a fantastic tour with Francesco around Verona. He was full of interesting information and anecdotes as he explained the Roman and Medieval history of Verona. Francesco (Frenk !) is the perfect guide! He is very flexible, we had booked the day before another tour, the guides have coordinated with each other, put together an individual tour and so we had with Frenk! the perfect complement. Besides his versatile knowledge he is very entertaining, we laughed a lot! On the way he pointed out to us very many hidden details, away from the guidebooks. In a prepared folder he showed us in between pictures from the past of the city, so that we were also allowed to travel into the past. Even after the tour, he sent us information about what else we can do in Verona, because the weather changed and we were looking for indoor alternatives. Frank is the best tour guide we’ve had the privilege to spend time with. Before we began the tour, he asked us about our interests and made sure to tailor the tour accordingly. We had a great Verona tour with Andrea! He was very knowledgeable of Verona and its history. You could tell he loves talking about the Verona and did a great job of weaving in educational points as well as present day. He was able to keep of family of adults and high school ages kids entertained for the whole tour. After touring Juliet’s house he offered to take our picture from outside at the entrance while we were at the balcony. A nice touch. He also gave us a recommendation for a local place to eat that was amazing. Coming into the trip we were not sure if we needed a tour, but are so glad that we did. Francesco was warm, friendly, engaging with a huge depth of knowledge of the history and culture of Verona. He was able to make a small group tour interesting for adults and teenagers alike. He even managed to take in his stride our late arrival by 10 mins due to a parking problem we had when we arrived in the city. I would definitely recommend this tour. Andrea was an excellent and delightful tour guide in Verona. He met us at a cafe near the Arena and gave us an in depth background of the history of the city. He then proceeded to lead us in seeing all the city highlights. He was patient with our questions and the varying paces of our diverse group which ranged from 87 years old to 22. Maria is a knowledgable and cheerful guide. We learned a lot. This tour is good for people who can’t walk a lot or walk long distances as many stories are shared sitting in the sun on a bench. Maria Pia had to change our tour time due to an unexpected traffic accident to a colleague. But she accommodated us with an earlier time. The colleague hopefully will make a full recovery. Maria Pia took account that we were a mixed aged group of 5 people from 80 to 11! So she made it interesting for the teenagers and the 11 year old and even the old cynic!!
