Majo was so so knowledgeable. I received a thorough history of Spain during the tour and how the early 20th century events shaped modern Spanish art. I learned so much in such a short time. She was great at selecting out the particular works of Dali, Picasso, Miro etc that elegantly showed their development. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour!Way above expectations!

Majo knows the Reina Sophia Museum thoroughly and gave us an excellent overview catering to our interests in 19th and 20th century art. She showed us early Picasso and Dali works (and other artists too), culminating in Picasso's wrenching Guernica, while explaining the political upheavals that influenced the art. During our family trip (wife, 2 teenage daughters and myself) to Madrid, we had already visited the Prado Museum with Majo as our guide. We loved the experience so much that when we discussed visiting the Renee Sofia several days later, my daughters stated that they would agree only if we could tour the museum with Majo. We were all very happy with the decision. The Renee Sofia Museum can easily be overwhelming with the vast size of the collection, especially for individuals less familiar with contemporary art (as is the case with my family). Majo is so clearly passionate and well-learned about art and history. This knowledge and passion comes across clearly in her tour, which made our visit a fascinating 3 hour experience in learning the development of contemporary art in Spain, the memorable related details of the artists' lives (for example, Dali and Picasso), and how the evolution and focus of the art is deeply tied to the underlying political and historical events in Spain. I especially appreciated Majo tailoring our visit to ensure that my daughters were able to learn about important female contemporary artists in Spain. We will definitely rebook with Majo on any future visit to Madrid. I highly recommend her!Memorable tour of Reina Sofía with Majo.

We could not recommend Maria more highly. My 18-year-old son has fallen in love with art and art history, thanks to the tour of the retina Sophia that we did with Maria. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and a fabulous storyteller. She was punctual and professional. She guided us through the museums expertly and avoided the crowds. From the second you talk to Elena you feel she is in control of what she is doing. Her explanations are smooth understandable and you leave the museum with plenty of anecdotes. Her tour of the Reina Sofia was a like telling a story. She is a real story teller, my wife and I had our best experience ever in a museum. Majo was an amazing guide on our first visit to the Reina Sofia. Her incredible passion for and depth of knowledge of both Spanish art and history really came through. With Majo as our guide, we were able to experience the artwork in a more personal way and beyond the iconic pieces to also discover some lesser known gems, in particular works by female artists. We Loved our tour of Reina Sofia with Elena. Her passion for & knowledge of art along with her humour and great anecdotes about the artists and their paintings and sculptures kept us engaged for our entire visit, pointing out intricate details we would never have have realised. As a designer, I usually go to museums and stop and look at things that catch my eye, and study them. Letting Majo visually edit this museum's extensive collection was truly helpful, with her narrative of Spain's history to the present day. So many of the earlier pieces that she should us I would not have seen at all. I recommend this experience as a great introduction to Spain via visual culture.Fantastic Art Historical Review!

My fiance and I were clueless about art but decided to take a plunge into the arts hub of Spain. How can you miss Guernica when you are in Madrid? Elena is a knowledgeable and passionate guide. I highly recommend Elena's tour of the Museo nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sophia! Elena did a fantastic job showing us (mom and 18 year old daughter) the highlights of this museum and helping us understand various artists' developments. She told us about the artists' personal lives and spoke in depth on the paintings to help us appreciate what we were looking at. Elena brought an iPad with her which greatly supported our tour as she would occasionally make reference to paintings not in the museum and be able to show us. Elena will greatly enhance your visit to this museum!Great tour!

Maria Augusta met us promptly outside the Reina Sofia and took us on a whirlwind tour of its magnificent collection, culminating in a viewing of Picasso's "Guernica". She was able to make interesting connections between the contemporary art in this museum and the Prado's collection, which we had spent quite a bit of time exploring over two previous days. Maria Augusta was a knowledgeable, entertaining, and playful guide - the tour passed incredibly quickly and we could have easily have spent another two hours with her. My 20 year old son and I spent a wonderful couple of hours with Maria at the Reina Sofia. Her English was impeccable and her passion for the artwork, history and sharing her knowledge were exactly what we were looking for. She was flexible in touring us through the collection which seems to be in some level of flux due to renovations being made to the museum prior to the current director moving on. We found María Augusta last minute, and she was very quick in responding and super flexible. She arranged everything for us upon entry, and showed us the masterpieces of the Reina Sofia museum. We were lucky because it was basically empty, so we could really take our time to talk about the art and history and culture. She also showed us related pictures from other locations, which made our experience even more complete. Our tour with Elena through the del Prado was nearly perfect - I say nearly only because I wanted more time to explore with Elena's expertise. She was phenomenal guiding us through and explaining at sufficient, but not over-the-head details about the paintings, context, time and history. She has a deep knowledge and passion for art and culture and this shines through the whole experience. Exploring the del Prado solo would not have come close to this experience so I am grateful we had Elena to open our eyes to the true magic of its collection!I need a repeat!

Elena was absolutely wonderful to experience the Reina Sofia with. She was so knowledgeable and very engaging. She had lots of insight into the pieces she showed us and was really fun to talk to. We accidentally booked the wrong day for our tour, but she was very understanding and willing to reschedule for the following day. I can not recommend Elena enough! Touring with her completely changed our time in the museum! She was friendly, funny and incredibly knowledgeable! She was able to place each piece of artwork into the historical time context, the evolution of artistic techniques and the meaning of the actual painting. It was an amazing learning experience!
