Valencia is a wonderful city to visit by bike and totally safe as the extensive network of bike lanes means you almost never share the road with cars. We visited with our 10 year old grandson and Marcos adapted the tour so that we all enjoyed it immensely. Marcos is such a nice person and one instantly feels as ease with him and his tour was fun and interesting. There is no better way to visit a city and learn about its history than seeing it through the eyes of a native person. He also gave us very valuable information about where to eat and shop and incidentally, we had the best paella we have ever eaten in Spain in one of the restaurants he recommended. When we come back to Valencia we will definitely contact him again to take us on another tour. Thank you again Marcus we are so glad that we got to meet you! Great guide and excellent bike tour

We booked with Marcos originally for a bike tour with our 3 and 1 year olds. From the beginning he was so accommodating and communicated often in preparation for our trip to make sure our itinerary was suitable for both us and our children. The night before our day together, the forecast showed 100% chance of rain but he insisted we wait to cancel and make new plans the day of if the rain came. Surely in the morning, the rain came but he had the idea of making it a walking tour instead because the sites were close. We were so thrilled that we got to see the city with Marcos still! Upon arrival, Marcos greeted us with open arms and loved talking and playing with our boys 💙 There wasn’t a single question he didn’t know the answer to—I have no idea how he knows everything he does! Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 12) did a bike tour of Valencia with Marcos in August. He adapted the tour to accommodate our children and to ensure it was an enjoyable experience for everyone. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and communicated it in a way that was very engaging and kept our children interested. It was our daughter's birthday on the day of the tour and Marcos gave us lots of recommendations for lunch and dinner, tailored based on what she wanted to eat, hours of operation and location. We took his recommendations and had two fantastic meals in the city to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We learned so much about the city from Marcos. Marcos met us in front of the Mercado Central and asked questions to get to know us a bit before taking us on a walk around the historical center of Valencia. Since we had already been in the city for a few days, he made sure not to take us to places we had already visited, and instead offered new, refreshing information that only locals can provide, put events and places into historical context, and paid a lot of attention to our 8 year old son, trying to make the experience fun and interesting for him as well. We had a great time with Marcos. In the time allotted, he took us to so many places and site. He gave us the rich history and knowledge of each stop. It was extremely hot, and he made small tweaks in the tour to ensure we were in the shade, stopped for water, and were doing ok overall. We had an amazing experience, and we highly recommend Marcos. We felt like we had a friend showing us around Valencia not just a tour guide. What a great tour - I did a private tour so just the 2 of us and we covered everything… from deep questions about history to the best restaurants to go to. Marcos gave us a great tour. He had difficult circumstances with the holiday and the power cut but coped with a smile and adapted the tour to suit us. Loved the history and the architecture. Marcos is easy to talk to and it felt more like a friend taking us around the city. He also sent us a load of information and photos afterwards which was helpful for our next few days. Only comment is that it would have been useful to know that some places were closed on a public holiday as we didn’t realise that and may have chosen a different day - but it was not a problem - only reason for a 9 not a 10. I really love Withlocals and try to use it whenever we are in a new city. Super Tour!

I and my 3 children (8y,10y and 14y) went on a city trip to Valencia and I was looking for a kind of guide who could make a tour interesting for children. After a long search I came across Marcos 'family tour' advertisement. He felt good and so I booked his family tour Valencia. It is always a bit exciting, because certainly the youngest of 8 years old does not speak English (the other does well), except for a few words and therefore there is a degree of difficulty to get such a child involved in a tour where English is spoken. However, Marcos was really fantastic and through patience, interaction, but also by paying attention to each child, he made sure that each child understood his story or question. Of course I sometimes translated a bit for my youngest child. What really gave his tour power, was by working with images and a local tasting. I am a culture and history freak myself, but he also fascinated me with his stories about about the city, which was very educational for me too. In 3 hours he took us through the old city and took us to a number of sights. Marcos fascinated us enormously and we quickly formed a bond. This is very nice. It was a pity that he was going on holiday the next day, otherwise I would have booked another tour with him immediately. Marcos also does customized tours if you want that. His communication is very fast, which we Dutch people really like. If you are looking for a quality guide, then Marcos is the right person for you. What a fantastic 3.5 hours. A superb teacher who brought the old and the new of Valencia to life. A history lesson, recommendations on where to go by ourselves and Spanish lessons for my daughter as we toured the highlights of this beautiful city. I felt very sorry for the packed generic tours .. whilst we had a totally bespoke tour catering to exactly what we wanted to learn, taste in the market and plan for other days. We hebben gisteren een geweldige rondleiding gehad van Marcos. Omdat we eerder in Valencia zijn geweest en hier wat langer verblijven hadden we de wens om weg te blijven van de highlights van Valencia, maar juist de wat meer verborgen juweeltjes te zien. Het werd een zeer bijzondere en informatieve wandeling naar plekken die we anders zeker niet hadden ontdekt. Met veel interessante verhalen over de stad.
