We wanted some help on our visit to the Rijksmuseum. Arun had a great depth of knowledge about the principal works and artists that really enhanced our understanding. Our 9-year-old grandson still became bored, but the adults were captivated. Great way to visit the Rijksmuseum

Arum was nice and knowledgeable about the history of local foods. It was mostly a stroll through a local street market, tasting an eclectic mix of Dutch and ethnic-inspired Dutch foods, though we ended early due to exhaustion on the part of some of our group. We tried delicious “Pom” sandwiches, Gouda cheeses, Dutch pancakes, and unexpected pairing of Dutch apple pie and draft beer, fried fish (we declined the herring), and ended with bitterballen. I don’t think this was a foodie’s “best of Amsterdam” tour, but rather an introduction to different foods found here that you may not encounter elsewhere. Arun spoke quickly and softly so it was difficult at times for some in our 6-person group to hear what he was saying. Having said that, we didn’t all do an especially good job sticking close by, though we did have to ask him to repeat himself a few times for those who couldn’t catch his words. If we had been a bit more energetic I think it might have been more fun, unfortunately we had had a long day and ran out of steam before we got through all the stops. The thing most important to know is that this is rather eclectic in terms of the order of tasting things - from cheese to butter soaked sugar cakes to beer, so prepare your stomach accordingly. Arun picked us up at our hotel for our 3 hour walking tour. He taylored the tour to our interests, needs, and walking speeds. He is very knowledgeable about the different areas of the city and he pointed out good places to eat and other actvities and places to visit on our own along the way. We felt this was a great introduction to the city center! Wonderful walking tour of Amsterdam!

Arun was a great guide and knowledgeable about the history of the neighborhood. Our feedback would be to add a few more stops and some more food? It started at 7:30 and by 10pm (the end) we had really only had food at one of the stops. We were hungry and had to find a place for dinner at a late hour. Great idea- but maybe add more food?

We spent 2 hours with Arunabha in the Rijksmuseum where we learnt a lot abour Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Vermeer and other painters of this time. Arunabha has a great knowledge of the painters and their life - we discovered some hidden connections between these different artists. We also went to see the dolls houses, which are very special, and the wondeful museum library. We very much recommend this tour.A lovely introduction to the Rijksmuseum

We had a great time with Arunabha- he was knowledgeable, friendly and good with the kids. My only constructive feedback is this tour would have been more accurately named "Basic tour of Amsterdam" or "Highlights of Amsterdam." There weren't really any hidden gems. We got pretty much the exact same tour on the canal cruise we took. As a guide, he was great and we were not disappointed. If you are looking for something different than a basic tour I am sure he can accommodate if you send him a message beforehand. So to sum it up we really has a great time and liked him a lot, just wanted some more "hidden gems", meaning more locally known spots we wouldn't necessarily see or know about. Arunabha was a fantastic guide. We got a bit turned around and ended up at the wrong location. Arunabha waited for us and gave us the full experience. Arunabha provided a vast amount of information on the history of Amsterdam, Netherlands, vis a vis the invasion by Nazis and many perspectives on the resistance. We didn’t know what to expect, especially since this was the first time we have used With Locals. From the beginning Aruna impressed us with his knowledge of Amsterdam. This walking tour was one of the best decisions I took when I visited Amsterdam. Arun is not just a super knowledgeable tour guide, he is a great and kind human being too. He explained the history, and the present of every area we covered in a way that made us feel like we know his city so well too, a solid base for the rest of the days we spent there. I would recommend you to take this tour on the day of landing in Amsterdam, that would really be an amazing kickstart to your vacation. It really felt like we got a friend for life, in a new city, after spending few hours with him. In a nutshell, I would say, we had gem of a guide and fabulous experience. Must Do When You Are in Amsterdam.

Having a local tour guide removed the delay and frustration of having to figure out basic things in getting to where we wanted to go. It was great to have the stark contrast of a prior days trip where we needed to figure out how to get a ticket properly and missed an earlier train over it. When traveling with kids, these easy things are just not always that easy. To have that drama eliminated by meeting with Arunabha to walk us around, tell us the history of things, and then to end the tour with a food bites portion was amazing. He was helpful and fun with the kids. The local bites portion was an absolute highlight for our entire group. Arunabha knew just where to go, what was good, and in perfect portions. We would likely have never landed on any of the spots selected by chance, and certainly if we had, we would not have known what to order. I highly recommend a With Locals tour and plan to do it again! Absoulte highlight of the trip

We were a party of 4 and had a fantastic tour with Arun at Keukenhof which is an amazing place! Arun arranged the public transportation, train and bus both very comfortable, and we traveled together arriving when the park opened. Thanks so much Arun for arranging an early start which allowed us to enjoy a good amount of time viewing the flowers without the crowds. He navigated our visit perfectly...made sure we visited the best parts of the park, shared lots of interesting information and gave us time to take photos while ensuring our group did not get separated once the park got busy. The visit was one of the highlights of our trip. I also wanted to say that pre-tour communication with Arun was excellent, and the meeting place was easy to find.Keukenhof

I had signed up for a tour with Arunabha, but at dinner the night before got a text from Vita saying she would be our tour guide. Vita was pleasant but not a great tour guide. She didn't speak loud enough and often walked ahead of us (facing forward) while talking which made it difficult to hear her. Her knowledge of what we saw seemed good, but she could have offered up more information. I felt like I needed to draw info out of her. She also was rushing us to leave our favorite part of the tour -- watching the saw powered by the windmill. I understand things come up, but no one ever told us what happened to Arunabha. For a tour of this price, I think we deserved an explanation or an option to reschedule. What we saw was good but the overall experience was just OK. I'd recommend the tour but not with Vita.Zaanse-Schans: I wish we had Arunabha

Thank you Arun for an amazing day in Amsterdam. We were a family of 4 who only had about 8 hours in Amsterdam. I messaged with Arun what all we wanted to do, vs booking multiple tours to try to achieve this. He took care of everything and put together a great itinerary that even my 12 and 14 year old daughters enjoyed. His knowledge of the city plus all the historical undertones and stories made for a memorable tour. His food stops were unique and delicious. We had a nice day, and covered most of central Amsterdam with Arunabha. We had asked for a tour from more of a cultural perspective. Arunabha was able to contextualize some of the things that we had seen in previous walks on our own and give us a an engaging, social history of the Netherlands. I don’t know how much he deviated from his normal talk for us, but we certainly saw some things that I don’t think we would have noticed or understood without him.
