Our group had a great 10 Tastes of Athens tour with Makram! The food we sampled was delicious - the kritzini (breadsticks) were a revelation - and plentiful - we should have refrained from eating all day to fully enjoy all the tasty selections! Dionysis blew away all expectations for our food tour of Athens. He took us to local spots with top quality authentic Greek food. The amount of food for our party of 8 was plentiful and he kept asking if we'd like to order more. While walking between restaurants, Dionysis was a wealth of knowledge about the history of Athens. We also requested a stroll through Plaka, and he was happy to oblige. We spent a wonderful morning getting to try new Greek foods around Athens with Vasiliki (Vicki). The first place we went to was a small greek cafe where we tried some greek pastries, a spinach pie as well as a delicious cream filled pie as well as the infamous Greek coffee. Next we walked through a meat and fish market which was so interesting! The second food we tried were pistachios which are very popular in Athens and Greece. Following that, we walked over to a stand that had many varieties of olives. We tried all sorts of different types of olives. After that we stopped in a place that had a bunch of different kinds of cheese and personally I thought they were all so delicious, especially the creamy feta! The next food we tried after that were greek meat skewers called souvlaki. We got to try both the chicken and pork and both were so tasty! Lastly to finish out the tour we went to a little dessert place and tried a type of dessert called lukamades and they were so good! Vasiliki was a wonderful tour guide! She spoke wonderful english, was easy to talk to, and was so nice! Throughout the tour while telling us about the food she also gave us a history lesson on Greece and told us more about each area we were walking through. She was our family's favorite tour guide and made this tour the best one we have ever been on! Vicki helped to provide us with an excellent introduction to Athens and we would highly recommend her tour!Best Tour We've Ever Been On!

We chose Ioannis as our guide for a food tour in Athens – and what an experience it was! The theme was Greek cuisine, but the tour offered so much more than just flavors. Ioannis shared his deep knowledge of both food culture and history – we especially remember the story about why the Acropolis, despite its name, is not the highest mountain in Athens. Those little insights truly brought the tour to life! He took us through the meat, fish, and vegetable markets ❤️ and introduced us to amazing local specialists and authentic eateries well off the typical tourist trail. Everything felt genuine, thoughtfully selected, and incredibly tasty. We were absolutely delighted from start to finish and really hope our paths cross again in the future. We truly can't begin to fully express how wonderful Voula was on our food tour! From the minute we met her, she made us feel like family. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about Greek foods, she also shared with us historical and cultural information. She paced the tour perfectly, and we were able to try so many delicious foods. My elderly mother was supposed to be on the tour (which Voula welcomed and helped us plan for!), but at the last minute, was unable to make it. Georgia was an excellent guide for experiencing authentic Greek cuisine in Athens. She was recommended by strangers we met on our ferry ride from Santorini to Piraeus, and we were not disappointed. From starting out with a tasting of local liqueurs, to enjoying gyros from a street vendor, to finishing with a cup of coffee, the tour was excellent!! We had a fantastic food tour with Voula last week. We were so happy that we decided on a private tour and that we picked Voula as our guide. We enjoyed it from start to finish, and it felt more like exploring authentic Athens with a friend than a guide. The places she took us to were all amazing, and she is very knowledgeable about both the food culture and the history of Athens. Other guides can – understandably – seem like they are just delivering a memorized monologue for the 100th time. With Voula, we did not feel that way, and she was very interested in engaging with us and answering all our stupid questions. We thoroughly enjoyed the Athens Food Tour. Our guide, Makram, made the experience great. He was friendly and gave us new information about Athens and its history. He was very responsive to our wants for the tour, and he took us to places we would not have found on our own (especially our last stop of the evening). When we decided to walk back to our hotel at the end of the night, Makram made sure we knew how to get there before we parted. We had the most incredible food tour in Athens, all thanks to our phenomenal guide, Voula. From the moment we met her, it felt like we were being shown around by a local friend who knows all the best hidden gems. Her passion for Greek food and culture was contagious, and every stop on the tour was a delight. The Nutella donuts were out of this world — warm, gooey, and absolutely addictive. The visit to the honey store was both delicious and educational; we never knew honey could be that complex and flavorful! The meat market gave us a fascinating peek into daily Athenian life, and Voula brought it to life with stories and insider knowledge. One of our favorite moments was the little shop she took us to, where we tried an incredible variety of feta-based dishes — each one better than the last! We never would have found a place like that on our own. Voula made the experience feel personal, authentic, and truly local. This was so much more than a food tour — it was a cultural deep dive and a highlight of our trip. We can’t recommend her (and this tour) enough! A must do in Athens! My daughter and I thought that a food tour might be a good idea to explore Athens with someone who could guide us away from all the touristy restaurants and show us some hidden gems. Our food tour with Irini was amazing. We stopped at a bunch of excellent places with a great variety of local food. Our first stop was a "test" so she could guage what we liked and she adjusted our route based on that. Irini is a great guide - very personable, easy to talk to and fun to be around. We had an awesome experience with Dimitris. He is relaxed, yet very well organized, he cared about making sure we were enjoying ourselves. He brought us to places we would have never found on our own, off the beaten tourist path. He made sure we discovered the best authentic Greek food, and we had plenty to eat! We travel many times a year and often do a food tasting tour the first day. This was the worst food tour we have ever experienced. The food we tasted was incredibly unimaginative (for example: a package of oregano and a package of bread sticks from a supermarket as two of the tastings!) Evanthia did not seem to have any real knowledge of Greek food, nor did she take us anywhere to taste any interesting local cuisine, except 2 pieces of filo pie we shared between the 5 of us. I DO NOT recommend a food tour with Evanthia. We were hugely underwhelmed.Disappointing food tour with Evanthia
