We ate, we drink, and we had such a lovely evening with Karman. We are still talking about the squid ink risotto at the first restaurant, which was divine. We had a lovely evening with Jadranka. She was very sweet and knew lots about the city of Dubrovnik. She was also flexible, allowing the men in our group to get beer instead of wine which was very much appreciated. The tour itself just wasn’t quite what we were expecting. We thought we’d be making three stops for different types of drinks and hotspots. It was more of a wine and tasting experience since we only stopped at two wine bars instead of 3 diverse nightlife spots. The boys in our group don’t drink wine so we never would have booked if if we knew that’s what the tour entailed. We did have a lovely time but it wasn’t what we were hoping to experience.Fun but not what we were expecting..

The best introduction to a City is sipping wine and getting to know someone from that city. Mia greeted us with the warmest smile and the friendship bond grew from that moment. Even before our trip, Karmen was organising the tour , asking for details so she could cater to everyone in our group of 11! She was so helpful with recommendations on what to do after the trip. Karmen led our family on a 1.5 hour walking tour through the Old Town Dubrovnik. We have 3 young kids (10 year old twins and a 6 year old very energetic kiddo!) and she kept them engaged and happily answered their MANY questions!!! She was full of fun details about the city’s history and gave the adults fun facts about where Game of Thrones was filmed. She paid special attention to the hot weather, finding shade everywhere we stopped. Her recommendations for ice cream and pizza were on point!! This was my family's first time visiting Croatia and first time using WithLocals. We had a wonderful experience with Karmen who provided great insights of Old Town, living in Dubrovnik, and interesting stories of the history of the city. It was quite warm outside, but Karmen sought out shade whenever she had a story to share. When scheduling the tour, Karmen was quick in her responses and even provided us some wonderful recommendations. We booked a 90 minute session, which was the perfect time to cover the history of the city, but also provide us with her own insights. The time with Karmen felt like a friend was guiding you around their city. I would recommend booking this tour on one of your first days, as Karmen provides many good recommendations. Also, don't eat gelato or drink coffee beforehand, Karmen will make a stop during the tour :) My family, 4 english-speaking adults, would highly recommend this tour experience. My husband and I recently had a phenomenal tour with Barbara. She does a great job at giving you all the historic information while also giving you wonderful insights about current day to day life. To us, this is the best way to learn about a country, its people and its history. Our private tour with Barbara was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Dubrovnik. From the moment we met her, we knew we were in great hands — she’s warm, incredibly knowledgeable, and so passionate about her hometown. Barbara brought the history of Dubrovnik to life with stories that were both fascinating and deeply personal. You could tell she truly loves this city and takes pride in sharing it with others. She took us to a delicious oyster tasting, introduced us to her favorite olive oil shop (which we never would have found on our own), and made sure we caught the Pigeon Parade at noon — something we didn’t even know we needed to see, but absolutely loved! I’m a cat lover and had brought treats with me, and Barbara went out of her way to make sure we visited a few of Dubrovnik’s sun-loving feline residents. It was such a sweet, thoughtful touch that made the day feel even more personal. Barbara didn’t just show us the city — she welcomed us into it. By the end of the tour, it felt like we were exploring with a lifelong friend. Karmen was absolutely fantastic! She went above and beyond to help us have the best experiences. We booked a private tour with her, especially because my partner has walking difficulties. Karmen was very flexible and adjusted the tour according to our needs. She's very knowledgeable and passionate about her job. She left us wanting to know more about Dubrovnik. In particular, she researched accessible areas for us, supported us with mobility, gave us good advice on where to eat and drink, shared the bus schedule with us from where we were staying to get into the Old Town, and shared details for a paint and wine experience. Karmen was inclusive and spoke directly to my partner, who was in a wheelchair (unfortunately, this doesn't always happen). She also has a great sense of humour.
