Mia was brilliant and put us at ease with her knowledge and obvious passion for Dubrovnik. We spent the first 45 mins talking through the wonderful history of Dubrovnik and then we visited a couple of different venues to try a variety of locally produced wines. Must admit, I hadn’t realised that Croatia produced so many wines and the ones we tried were all amazing. We even tried an orange wine…we enjoyed talking to Mia about our backgrounds and the 3 hours went by in a flash, which is credit to Mia for making us feel comfortable. Mia also gave us a few tips about other parts of Dubrovnik to visit, which we certainly took advantage of during the rest of our stay. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 Experience We absolutely loved our Drinks & Bites in Dubrovnik tour with Karmen! From start to finish, she made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and truly unforgettable. The food was incredible—we tried traditional Croatian dishes like šporki makaruli and crni rižot (black risotto), along with anchovies and so many other delicious bites. Karmen guided us through each stop, expertly explaining the dishes and helping us choose just the right things to try. The local wine she recommended was out of this world—easily one of the best we had on our entire trip. This tour was the perfect way to kick off our time in Dubrovnik. We booked this for our first night in Dubrovnik to help familiarize ourselves with Old Town more quickly. Ramona was punctual and knowledgeable. She took us to three different places where we tried local bites and drinks. Over our next days in the city we revisted one of the restaurants and relied on much of the info she shared with us. We ate, we drink, and we had such a lovely evening with Karman. We are still talking about the squid ink risotto at the first restaurant, which was divine. We had a lovely evening with Jadranka. She was very sweet and knew lots about the city of Dubrovnik. She was also flexible, allowing the men in our group to get beer instead of wine which was very much appreciated. The tour itself just wasn’t quite what we were expecting. We thought we’d be making three stops for different types of drinks and hotspots. It was more of a wine and tasting experience since we only stopped at two wine bars instead of 3 diverse nightlife spots. The boys in our group don’t drink wine so we never would have booked if if we knew that’s what the tour entailed. We did have a lovely time but it wasn’t what we were hoping to experience.Fun but not what we were expecting..

The best introduction to a City is sipping wine and getting to know someone from that city. Mia greeted us with the warmest smile and the friendship bond grew from that moment. Even before our trip, Karmen was organising the tour , asking for details so she could cater to everyone in our group of 11! She was so helpful with recommendations on what to do after the trip. We learned a lot about her beautiful city during our time together and she was very kind about sharing insider tips to make the rest of our trip equally wonderful. Romana painted a picture of what life is like as a local during the tour by sharing information about her family’s history in Dubrovnik in the context of the history of the city itself. We especially appreciated her tips on buying the Dubrovnik pass, how to get to Mount Srd and how to use public transportation to get back and forth from Lapad. She also offered for us to contact her following the tour if we needed any other information during our time in Dubrovnik, which was so generous, and above and beyond what most guides provide. Our adult family of four toured Dubrovnik on a busy weekend day, and Romana made our tour feel very private and special. Visiting the Memorial Room of the Fallen Dubrovnik Soldiers was very moving, and brought home the hardships this beautiful city has faded over the many centuries. Romana was absolutely fluent in English and speaks faster than I can which meant you learned so much in the 2 hour tour. Everything from GOT facts and photoshoots, to the history of Dubrovnik, with some local folklore thrown in for good measure. Highly entertaining, educational and enjoyable. If you are looking for a wonderful, insightful and inspiring few hours in Dubrovnik- you must spend it with Karmen! Her knowledge and delivery are like a field trip for adults who love stories. She IS the hidden gem in this old town and everyone needs to know it! We had one of the best days and Karmen’s recommendations post tour were spot on. Karmen had so much patience with our 4.5 year old. Within 5 minutes they were strolling hand in hand chatting about Dubrovnik. My daughters attention span was not the best, but Karmen kept her engaged and knew when to move on.
