What a great time we had tour Lisbon with Joao! He was thorough and patient as he took us through all of the neighborhoods of downtown Lisbon. He took us to some great spots for Pastel de Nata, Ginja drink, and many other local historical spots. Even when our time was over he offered to show us more. Joao folowed up with us on popular shops, restaurants, and other things to do while we were in Lisbon. I booked a private half day tour several weeks before we arrived in Lisbon. Ana was our guide and she promptly met us at our hotel for a walking tour of Lisbon. Ana was extremely knowledgeable and started us off with a Funicular ride near the hotel. We saw St. Roch Cathedral and the amazing sites in the area. Lunch was phenomenal at Bairro do Avillez which is not to be missed. The views of Lisbon from this area give you a great appreciation of the architecture and ocean. Ana was very understanding and tailored the tour to our preferences. I had several chats with her before which I highly recommend when booking a private tour. Lisbon is very hilly so you need to be in decent shape. Overall I highly recommend Ana if you decide on a private tour. She is friendly and very passionate about Lisbon. Lucia knows how to walk on the mountains with an interesting mix of store elevators, escalators and trams to save a lot of uphill walking. Her knowledge of the history is excellent. We had already spent two days in the same areas but hadn’t found any of these places.She knows the best routes

Absolutely loved our walking tour around Lisbon with Ines. She offered to meet us at our hotel which we greatly appreciated. Ines is incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s rich history with fascinating stories and local insights. Her enthusiasm and passion for Lisbon was enchanting and refreshing. We came away with a deeper appreciation for Lisbon and some great local tips. Ines helped us to understand the train and tram system for our visits to Sintra and Cascais. Had a fantastic time with Joao! He was kind enough to meet us at our hotel to start our walking tour. Then he blew us away with all his knowledge about the city. We love history so encouraged him to teach us about Portugal’s history and he did not disappoint. He took us to the various neighborhoods and gave us great recommendations. His English is superb. We had a 5 hour city tour of Lisbon with Amanda on Saturday, June 14, 2025. It was marvelous! First of all she is so immediately warm and friendly - I felt as though she was a good friend that I've known for years. She took us to amazing spots for stunning vistas, informed us on all aspects of Lisbon; history, architecture, music and my favorite- Portuguese food! She's full of energy and gave us an experience and knowledge of this beautiful city that we would absolutely not been able to achieve without her. She gave us a number of recommendations for dinner after - specifically some with vegan and vegetarian options. It was a perfect afternoon, a highlight of our 10 day trip to Portugal. Miss her already! I highly recommend Amanda! Amanda's the best!!

My friend and I had a fabulous and informative 5 hour tour with Inês. She came earlier than scheduled to our hotel and then began a journey of information and fun. We had a private tour with Lucia at the end of April, booked through Withlocals – and it was simply perfect! Communication beforehand via WhatsApp was smooth and personal. Lucia really tailored the experience to our group – we weren’t looking for dry facts and figures, and she picked up on that immediately. We saw all the major highlights, heard fascinating stories, and got so many insider tips for the rest of our stay. One of the spontaneous highlights was stopping by a local tavern to enjoy a glass of Ginjinha. Lucia speaks excellent German and has such a warm and engaging personality. Our tip: book the tour at the beginning of your trip so you can make the most of all her recommendations. Highly recommended! A true highlight of our Lisbon trip!

Jorge brought me to a seafood place and had the most amazing shrimps I've had in my life. He ended up peeling them for me cause I was too slow 🤣 In the short time I had with him I learned a lot about the history and culture of Lisbon and felt that it provided me a great understanding of the area. Jorge is a fantastic guide. He is extremely knowledgeable and has the ability to communicate that knowledge in an easy manner that does not overwhelm you. We started with an overview of Lisbon history. It was not a dry account but one that was clear, informative and entertaining. Jorge is a Lisbon local and clearly loves his city. The walk was conducted at an easy pace and Jorge was never rushing us. As well as the highlights of Lisbon we also visited a number of places we would never have thought to go to. At the end of our walk, Jorge took us to a viewpoint to see the sunset and then took us to a small local restaurant where we had a lovely dinner. We booked Sonia to give us an introductory walking tour of old Lisbon on our first morning in town. She was very flexible in putting back the start time to avoid the rain and met us at our hotel reception. We were impressed by her knowledge of the city and her excellent English. She showed us lots of local places, avoiding the tourist traps and giving us a lot of recommendations for the remainder of our stay. From the moment we had booked on the tour Lucia was in touch with her wattsapp number. This allowed us to bespoke the tour and include my wife who is 10 weeks post hip replacement operation. Lucia’s knowledge of short cuts around Lisbon and how to get the most out of our stay was superb and her general zest for life made for an enjoyable 3 hours.
