Absolutely loved our walking tour around Lisbon with Ines. She offered to meet us at our hotel which we greatly appreciated. Had a fantastic time with Joao! He was kind enough to meet us at our hotel to start our walking tour. Then he blew us away with all his knowledge about the city. We love history so encouraged him to teach us about Portugal’s history and he did not disappoint. He took us to the various neighborhoods and gave us great recommendations. His English is superb. We had a 5 hour city tour of Lisbon with Amanda on Saturday, June 14, 2025. It was marvelous! First of all she is so immediately warm and friendly - I felt as though she was a good friend that I've known for years. She took us to amazing spots for stunning vistas, informed us on all aspects of Lisbon; history, architecture, music and my favorite- Portuguese food! She's full of energy and gave us an experience and knowledge of this beautiful city that we would absolutely not been able to achieve without her. She gave us a number of recommendations for dinner after - specifically some with vegan and vegetarian options. It was a perfect afternoon, a highlight of our 10 day trip to Portugal. Miss her already! I highly recommend Amanda! Amanda's the best!!

My friend and I had a fabulous and informative 5 hour tour with Inês. She came earlier than scheduled to our hotel and then began a journey of information and fun. Inês was everything we hoped for in a guide. She was extremely knowledgeable but relaxed and made the tour enjoyable. We learnt a lot but had a great time too. We had a private tour with Lucia at the end of April, booked through Withlocals – and it was simply perfect! Communication beforehand via WhatsApp was smooth and personal. Lucia really tailored the experience to our group – we weren’t looking for dry facts and figures, and she picked up on that immediately. We saw all the major highlights, heard fascinating stories, and got so many insider tips for the rest of our stay. One of the spontaneous highlights was stopping by a local tavern to enjoy a glass of Ginjinha. Lucia speaks excellent German and has such a warm and engaging personality. Our tip: book the tour at the beginning of your trip so you can make the most of all her recommendations. Highly recommended! A true highlight of our Lisbon trip!

What a great afternoon. João is a wonderful conversationalist and a knowledgeable native of Lisbon. He gave us the perfect walking tour through various neighborhoods in Lisbon. Jorge brought me to a seafood place and had the most amazing shrimps I've had in my life. He ended up peeling them for me cause I was too slow 🤣 In the short time I had with him I learned a lot about the history and culture of Lisbon and felt that it provided me a great understanding of the area. If you guys are in Lisbon I definitely recommend booking a tour with Jorge. He was knowledgable not only on the history + culture but also political and social affairs. Let me first begin by saying that Ângelo and I were in contact immediately after booking and he was accommodating to rebook our tour due to a flight delay. Ângelo was very knowledgeable on Lisbon history and provided images on his iPad. We learned a lot about the history and his insights during our tour. We went to many hidden gems throughout the city which we would have never thought to go to had it not been for this tour. Joao is amazing. So kind and thoughtful and interesting! He knew such a wide range of history and fun facts about Lisbon, and especially the Jewish community that left us thinking and wondering more! He did a great job pointing out tips of places to go and ways to make the city more accessible (hidden elevators, escalators, etc.) and he was awesome to send us a detailed list of many more recomendations and followed up on the various things we spoke about. He was able to make the tour interesting for our 10 year old daughter and also was sensitive to the heat that day, and kept looking for spots with shade where we could talk comfortably. Definitely book your tour with Joao - you won't be disappointed!Amazing tour!

Rita was an amazing guide for our day exploring Sintra! I expressed my dream of seeing Peña Palace and Regaleira in one day. Rita expressed worry about the achievability of this plan, but was willing to try to make it work! We made it work! It was an enjoyable experience, though a bit of a workout! Wear comfy shoes! After touring the beautiful grounds of Peña and Regaleira, Rita took us to a delightful place with beach access for lunch. We had hoped to make it to Cascais as well, but ran out of time. Rita was willing to hang with us as our kids enjoyed the beach. She was engaging with the kids - perhaps because she has two kiddos that are similar aged. The day felt like spending a day with a friend. She shared with us her love for the area, which made the tour a great learning and fun time! If you are considering booking a tour with Luci, do it! She’s the best! My family and I arrived in Lisbon 3 hours later than planned, jet lagged and tired. Luci was our first introduction to the city. She was funny, insightful, kind, and just an overall joy to be around. As soon as we met she made an effort to get to know my kids (1 and 3 years old) and to incorporate them into the tour. Wherever we went, she ordered little treats for them and made them feel special. She also introduced us to new foods and local restaurants that we never would have thought to try on our own. By the time the tour was over, we had completely forgotten about how tired we were and couldn’t stop talking about how much fun we had all had. If we ever come back to Lisbon, we will no doubt book another tour with Luci. Thank you, Luci, for making our first day so special!Luci is amazing!

One of the highlights of our 10 day trip through Portugal was definitely our food tour through Lisbon with Angelo. I booked the tour for my family of four which included my husband, 18 and 21 year old kids and myself. We met up with Angelo and he provided an overview of the tour and gave us a bit of a Lisbon history lesson to set the stage. All of the food we tasted during 6 stops was delicious and unique. Angelo went above and beyond in seeking out not only the very best of traditional food but he made an effort to support small businesses that focus on local, high quality ingredients. Definitely go hungry. Angelo's knowledge of Portuguese history and the culture was shared in a way that conveyed his passion for his country and also drew us in so that we began to feel the same. He also followed up after the tour with additional recommendations for things to see and do during our trip as well as providing a summary of all the places we explored and the history discussed. We did the 10 Tastings of Lisbon with Angelo. It was the best afternoon we could have asked for--better than we imagined. As Angelo says, the best way to understand a city is around a table, sharing food, drinks, and conversation with friends. That is what the whole experience felt like. Each spot that Angelo picked for us to visit was off the beaten path and showed us places that we would have never found on our own and allowed us to support small local Lisbon businesses. Not only was all the food absolutely delicious but as we sat and tried each food and drink, Angelo enriched our experience with not only telling us about the history of Lisbon but also about how the food we were eating, the flavors, the history of Lisbon, and contemporary Lisbon all connected in that one bite of food or one sip. It was just a phenomenal experience and Angelo truly felt like a local friend. He is the best! Angelo made us fall more in love with the city and made us want to explore every part of it. Angelo was the MOST AMAZING food tour guide. He toured our family of 5 including teen & young adult kids. He was very flexible trying to work with the holiday and early closures of his favorite restaurants. He reversed the tour to be sure we would make it to all the places he wanted to take us to in order to get a full exposure to many different foods & neighborhoods. Angelo was so incredibly knowledgeable with the history of the food choices he'd made too. Every step he was sharing the history of Lisbon and the food. He chose restaurants that had friendly staff and the freshest tasting foods. We walked to different neighborhoods to really get a taste of what Lisbon has to offer. He was fun, informative and fully exposed us to food we would not have otherwise tried. Even after the tour he followed up with a message with reasons he chose the food he did and listed out all the restaurants for us to go back to enjoy again. He also gave us a full listing of options close to our hotel to enjoy and we chose two of them and were blown away with food.
