This was the perfect way to start my visit to Valencia! Maria was such a lovely, knowledgeable guide. She clearly knows and loves the city well, and I really enjoyed hearing some of the history and the different kinds of architecture. Not to mention, all of the spots Maria chose for food were fabulous! Great variety of local places and stands at the central market. Cannot recommend this tour with Maria highly enough! Do it!! I experienced an exceptional walking tour of Valencia with Marcos. We had an amazing experience, and we highly recommend Marcos. We felt like we had a friend showing us around Valencia not just a tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. He made our experience personal like we were part of his family. We normally use Rick Steves walking tours form his books or audio guides when we first get to a city, but in this case, we invested a little in getting a guide. What a great tour - I did a private tour so just the 2 of us and we covered everything… from deep questions about history to the best restaurants to go to. We hit all areas of the city and adjusted to my pace… which is a bit faster. I would not only recommend, but would do it again as I am sure there are many more stories that I would enjoy.Awesome day

Maria was very flexible after I booked the wrong tour initially. My wife and I toured around the Canyamelar - Cabanyal districts for 2 and a half hours. Although we know something of the area, having visited several times before, we were introduced to lots of new aspects of the area, from historical details to architectural examples, street art, museums and restaurants. Marcos gave us a great tour. He had difficult circumstances with the holiday and the power cut but coped with a smile and adapted the tour to suit us. Loved the history and the architecture. Marcos is easy to talk to and it felt more like a friend taking us around the city. He also sent us a load of information and photos afterwards which was helpful for our next few days. Only comment is that it would have been useful to know that some places were closed on a public holiday as we didn’t realise that and may have chosen a different day - but it was not a problem - only reason for a 9 not a 10. I really love Withlocals and try to use it whenever we are in a new city. Super Tour!

I and my 3 children (8y,10y and 14y) went on a city trip to Valencia and I was looking for a kind of guide who could make a tour interesting for children. After a long search I came across Marcos 'family tour' advertisement. He felt good and so I booked his family tour Valencia. It is always a bit exciting, because certainly the youngest of 8 years old does not speak English (the other does well), except for a few words and therefore there is a degree of difficulty to get such a child involved in a tour where English is spoken. However, Marcos was really fantastic and through patience, interaction, but also by paying attention to each child, he made sure that each child understood his story or question. Of course I sometimes translated a bit for my youngest child. What really gave his tour power, was by working with images and a local tasting. I am a culture and history freak myself, but he also fascinated me with his stories about about the city, which was very educational for me too. In 3 hours he took us through the old city and took us to a number of sights. Marcos fascinated us enormously and we quickly formed a bond. This is very nice. It was a pity that he was going on holiday the next day, otherwise I would have booked another tour with him immediately. Marcos also does customized tours if you want that. His communication is very fast, which we Dutch people really like. If you are looking for a quality guide, then Marcos is the right person for you. Thank you very much and when I come back I will book him again.High recommended family tour guide

The tour with Marcos was a highlight of València. We really enjoyed how engaging and knowledgeable Marcos was, the three hours flew by and we learned so much about the city. It really gave us a greater appreciation for the city. You can’t appreciate how nice it is to have a small group tour tailored for your questions and interests until you do it. Valentín was a very pleasant guide who was generous with his time, and made sure we tasted many Valencian specialities, visiting the central market for fresh produce and then a wine bar for tapas, and finishing in a cocktail bar to try Agua de Valencia - delicious! He also answered our questions about the architecture and demographics of the city, and gave a couple recommendations. We didn’t see as much of the city centre as perhaps we had expected, but it was an enjoyable morning despite that. Thanks Valentín! You won’t go hungry!

What a fantastic 3.5 hours. A superb teacher who brought the old and the new of Valencia to life. A history lesson, recommendations on where to go by ourselves and Spanish lessons for my daughter as we toured the highlights of this beautiful city. I felt very sorry for the packed generic tours .. whilst we had a totally bespoke tour catering to exactly what we wanted to learn, taste in the market and plan for other days.
