Alessandro was an amazing host in Verona. He met us close to our rental and took us through all the highlights of the city. It was hot but we didn’t mind because the history and beauty of the city came to life. He gave us great tips for dinner and we had the most amazing ice cream in the world!! We even got to see the best tortellini maker in the world - who is his friend. We are so glad we made a stop in Verona! We will be back!!We love Verona!!

If you are considering it, do it! Alessandro was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge about the local area and food. Often sharing where he would go and what he would eat - great recommendations! We spent three hours with Alessandro on one of the hottest days of the year so far. The Affogatos were a great way to start the tour. We loved the tapas style lunch and local wines and oils to try. Gelatos, cannoli, granitas all appreciated too! All the information related to historical Verona through the ages and how it has become the beautiful, eclectic city it is now. Never rushed, Alessandro became part of our group of 6 walking around the city. He tailored the food and tour to our questions, likes and requests … but also added far more than we expected! We originally booked a food tour but the host canceled. We ended up booking something different (this tour) with the request to add some food stops. The didn’t leave feeling confident and we tried to cancel the tour the day before but they wouldn’t accommodate us. Really disappointed especially after the original tour guide cancelled on us. Would not recommend with locals to anyone after this.Unable to cancel

A plate of not very good pasta and 2 glasses of wine did not live up to the 10 tastings promised. More knowledge from the guide about what was open on Easter Monday would have helped. Saw some interesting parts of Verona but a disappointing tour overall More of a history than a food tour

We were fortunate to book a tour of Verona with Alessandro recently. Him being born and raised in Verona provided us with an intimate glimpse into what Verona is all about. Having studied and worked in the US his command of the English language was perfect. At every turn of the tour he provided fascinating information regarding our next encounter, such as the meaning of the crenels on bridges and buildings. he also made sure we were introduced to the local food. We chose affogato and bruschetta and his choices of where to go and enjoy it was "perfecto". Alessandro was very informative and yet down to earth and relatable. I always read these reviews and think "it's a bot, or paid advertising", so let me start by saying I'm neither. Just a traveler from another country trying to have the best experience possible in Italy and Alessandro made that happen. Before even meeting he was extremely helpful in finding locations and restruants in near by cities and helping to navigate certain aspects that may be confusing for a foreigner. For our tour, sadly it was a rainy day, but it didn't stop us. He expertly guided us through the beautiful city of Verona pointing out things that anyone but a local would miss. Sharing stories of his personal past along side historic facts that were awe inspiring. He is truly a man of the people, everywhere we went we bumped into locals he knew and shared a laugh (and even a glass of wine). To put it plainly, we started with the best hot chocolate we've ever had, ended with the best pasta we've ever had and everything between was absolute perfetto!! Thank you again Alessandro, may your days be long and your wine glass always full. Perfetto!!!!

We had a wonderful day with Alessandro. It was an easy tour from the beginning. He picked us up at our hotel (right on time) and off we went into the countryside! He took the time to show us several beautiful spots along the way to Lake Garda. The winery at the end was really lovely. We got to meet the owners and it felt very special. We are on our way to Venice and he sent us some recommendations for that stay as well! It was a wonderful day and I recommend him very highly! Italy wins!!A wonderful day going to the lake

Maria is a knowledgable and cheerful guide. We learned a lot. This tour is good for people who can’t walk a lot or walk long distances as many stories are shared sitting in the sun on a bench. Only downsides are she took several phone calls during our tour and we were never offered a drink or snack as advertised.

Our guide ,Manuel, was super accomodating, helpful and knowledgable and made us enjoy our day trip to Verona. The restaurant that he recommended for lunch, Trattoria Fluviale Vecio Mulin, was so good and tucked away, as only a local would know as it was what we wanted. We booked a day trip to Lake Garda and the surrounding area with Alessandro on February 13 25, He was prompt to the hotel and our journey was on. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, it was foggy and drizzly. But Alessandro did his best to keep us entertained. We stopped at several villages and took in the history of the area. We concluded our day trip with a tour of a local Winery, what a great way to finish the day. I would do another tour with Alessandro,he is knowledgeable,courtesy and helpful. We met Manuel at the Porta Borsari and immediately felt welcome and at ease. He delighted us with facts about Verona, its history, lifestyle and customs. Our tour took us to the main attractions in the old part of the city and a wonderful selection of wines and tasty foods. I had a last minute oppurtunity to tour Verona and Alex happened to be available. He catered the tour to the flow of questions and time allowance we had. It was a great mix of history, food, and of course he even mixed in some wine. Alex knows his city and wasted no time navigating from one point to another. terrific tour. we only visited family run activities: a bakery, a local trattoria where the chef does all days his fresh pasta (we had the one with truffle ) AND A NICE VINERIA where we hada great introduction to the wine regions around verona. our guide Virginia was amazing. she knows a lot of the story, her city, wines and more. she gave us tickets fort the cable car, too. where there is a stunning view of the city. great dayvery local and tailor made tour in verona

We just returned from an amazing tour of the Verona area with Virginia and Sara as our guides. Their knowledge of all things Italian is simply perfect...history, local highlights of Verona as well as further away "things not to miss" in the Veneto region, making of Parmesano Reggianno, balsamic vinegar not to be believed all combined to make our visit unforgettable. We have been on a lot of tasting tours in various cities. We do it as a way to acclimate ourselves. Alessandro’s tour wasn’t the typical where you eat something, walk a couple blocks, eat something else. He took us out on the town in his city. He showed it to us as a proud son of Verona, imbuing history and coloring it with the personal. We did duck into places to try a nibble here or sit down in one place to try several bites. One eatery he wanted to showcase wasn’t open, but it was okay. He gave us recommendations for the rest of our stay—many of which we tried. His recommendations were spot on. Our tour guide was not available on the day, but sent another “Maria” in her place which was kind of her. Our Maria was an absolute delight from the moment we met her. We met Alessandro on a very rainy day for a tour of Verona. He took us to some amazing places, including a very old wine shop, fantastic pizza (the best we've had in Italy), and all of the important sites. Alessandro came up with a fantastic personalised tour of Monte Baldo and its beautiful forests and mountain scenery and then we went along the shoreline of Lake Garda. Starting at the dramatically beautiful north end of the lake, down to the more popular and picturesque southern villages. He was informative and friendly and knew the best views, gelato stops, prettiest towns and food spots along the way. My husband and I met with Alessandro near to where we were staying at his suggestion which was very helpful. He showed us lots of things we would have missed without his help.
