We asked Yula to take us to off the beaten path sites, fun neighborhoods and local markets. She did all that and more. Our group spent two days in Yogyakarta with Yula doing an evening street food tour as well as a tour of the city. When we first met Yula she was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Our tours spent with her felt like meeting up with a friend in a new city and getting to see it through her eyes. During the food tour we were able to fully experience the sights and flavours of Yogyakarta in ways we would never have been able to on our own. Our group had 2 vegetarians which made it hard to know which foods were safe to eat and which contained meat. Yula was able to support us with our dietary restrictions and ensure we didn't miss out on anything. Yula's city tour took us to many places in Yogyakarta that weren't on our radar. She was very knowledgeable of the city and sights during the tour. And following the tour we were able to visit Yula's house and try batik. She made us feel so welcome in her home. We exceeded our allotted time for the tour, and Yula met up with us the next day to drop off our Batik. Our experience with Yula was exceptional and I am truly grateful for my time spent with her. We had an excellent tour through Yogja city. With the most touristic places; the kraton & taman sari. But we also visited the more hidden places and cute streets (Jalan tikus) of Yogja. We were slightly unsure on whether to book this as a family but it turned out to be one of the best things we did in Jogja. You will not eat the same way without a guided tour. We had trodden Malioboro and the surrounding area a couple of times already but had not even noticed the variety of food on offer. Yula provided a perfect balance of culture, stories and incredible flavours. Do not be worried about options as Yula will customise the offerings to your liking. We highly recommend Didot as reasonable and very professionell guide. He‘s smart, speaks fluent english and knows as much about todays life as about history, geographic and ancient legends of java. We did a one day tour including borobodur, jogja and prambaran. he organised the sightseeing for us, including tickets and transport (he is also a very good and safe driver). everything worked very well: thanks to Didot it has been a perfect day for us. Great experience - highly recommended

My boyfriend and I decided to contract this tour to learn a bit more about Indonesian gastronomy and Yogyakarta. We had never done any food tour, so we didn’t know what to expect, but the reality was way better than anything we could possibly imagine. Yulaikha is the best guide we could have had. Yulaikha gave us an incredible tour of the street food stalls on Malioboro. She was delightful to chat with - my partner and I both learned so much about Javanese food and culture. She even taught us how to spot handmade batik fabric (vs. printed batik fabric)! Now we can choose our own street food more confidently and eat like locals. The food tour with Yula was truly amazing! It was nice to be taken through the busy streets of Jogja and learn more about the city/history/culture and also the traditional food. It was lovely chatting to Yula and truly felt like meeting up with a long-term friend and going out for dinner. As tourists we hesitated to try to the street-food vendors because we didn't want to get sick so it was nice to try it this way and also not risk getting sick because Yula knows exactly where to go. Definitely a must-do activity if you're spending some time in Jogja! It was lovely from beginning to end!

We loved everything from the beginning to the end. Yulaikha told us about the history of Indonesia and walked us around very busy center of Yogyakarta. She treated us with food from warungs, small shops and restuarants. Savoury dishes, sweet treats and few really surprising local delicacies. Get prepared to eat a lot of yummi, (overall) sweet and very well picked dishes with Yula! She is a wonderful person, who was very interested and well prepared at all times. She told us about Indonesian Independence and the history of Malioboro Street. Although the amount of food we could try was limited, she showed us a couple of additional places to eat 🤗 We're both good eaters and love to try new food. Therefore, Yula had the perfect tour designed for us (best combination of vegetarian and meat). The main point in choosing Yulas tour was the focus on food instead of silly tourist games - and we had SOOOO much🤣 At the end of the day we rolled into our grab and then directly into our beds😅 We're absolutely amazed and found a new friend in Yula 🤗Eating our way through Jogja
