Earl was informative and showed us old photos of various landmarks on his iPad, which made places and people come alive. We walked at a medium pace and covered 14km of the city through a variety of suburbs including the Italian area and Chinatown. We stopped for a delicious pork bun, which Earl bought for us. A highlight for us was the walk over Brooklyn Bridge. Magnificent!Great First Visit to NYC!

Jordan guided us through a deep dive into the West Village and its history as a completely singular neighborhood (*his* neighborhood!). We got the granular details as well as big picture context (northward movement of the wealthy, deliberate architectural changes to buildings to attract artists--imagine that happening today!--the role of neighborhood activists, and the rural past explaining the ungridlike configuration of many streets). He was kind enough to incorporate a couple of midtown things I'd requested, a particular mural in Grand Central, and the glorious Chrysler Building, before delivering us to the madhouse of the theater district for our matinee. Laura, was friendly and very knowledgeable. Understanding the history of New York and how the financial industry developed was fascinating. I've been to the 911 site many times and was delighted to discover new pieces of it. Was over all a great tour. The only down points (of course beyond her control) were noisy construction and blocked views. Laura was terrific!

Richard Soden, our guide, gave us everything we came for and more. Wanted to see any remaining traces of the Dutch in New York, he found all the hidden ones and taught us many, other things around the topic. We already had a background in Dutch NY but he revealed places we never would have found. Brilliant tour with Richard our guide today. He was kind and courteous and very knowledgeable. My husband is very much into trains and thought the tour was fantastic- as did our 17 year old daughter and I who aren’t quite such train fanatics! We learned a lot about the history of the train station, the role of Jackie Kennedy, secret spiral staircases, architecture, whispering walls and of course the tennis court! I was concerned that we wouldn’t be able to hear our guide given the background noise of a busy working station but Richard gave us little over ear headphones which were great. Just right tour of the Gilded Age This tour was exactly what we were looking for. Some of us were fans of the HBO series “Gilded Age,” some are just interested in the history. This tour had an excellent balance of both leaning toward the actual history. Richard was a superb guide: knowledgeable, friendly and extremely well-prepared. The pics he had to show what was in buildings we couldn’t enter or which are no longer there were essential to our understand. The tour length (2 hrs) was just right, too. A great day in NYC with Jordan. He put a lot of effort into getting us to the tourist spots that we had requested, but also to the sites and areas that make New York City what it is. The different boroughs, with a stop at a nice Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village, time on the subway and many more places of interest, finishing the day in Central Park. We had OUTSTANDING tours with Jordan while in NYC. Five reasons to hire Jordan for an New York City tour: 1. We were a group of 7, ranging in age from 28 to 61. He asked our interests and met our requests to see some of the more common tourist attractions as well as some of the more interesting and less touristy locations in New York. 2. Our tour with Jordan was fabulous! He was very responsive prior to our meet-up and reminded us of the NY Marathon happening that day which was helpful for navigating our way to our meeting spot. We LOVED his tour of Greenwich Village. He knew so much about the history dating back to the 1600s and through the centuries and the last few decades. The streets of Greenwich are so charming, a really fun tour. We will take another tour with Jordan next time through Central Park and other areas he knows well.Fabulous!

Jordan was a fantastic guide! He met us where we dropped off our luggage to store during our tour (that he also suggested for us). He was very friendly, from the very beginning, and we felt like we were old friends by the time we met in person. He was very patient with us all. He took pictures for us and would wait on us while we took in the sites. The dynamic of our group ranged from 13 to 48 and he kept all of us engaged and interested the entire time!
