Tomasz met me at my hotel on the main square. I booked the tour to familiarise myself with The Old Town. Tomasz is charming & very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed his style - he made the information accessible, and stimulated my curiosity to go back to places & get a second look at things. I told Tomasz that I was interested in attending a Classical Music Concert. He took me to a highly recommended venue, and helped me buy my ticket. My 3 hour tour flew by. At the end I had a good understanding of the layout and main sites of The Old Town. We discussed a Food Tour but my departure time prevented me taking the tour - however, Tomasz messaged me a list of recommended restaurants & food choices. Meeting Tomasz was a delight. We booked Tomasz through With Locals. The best thing we have done. Tomasz contacted us straight away following the initial booking request. We arranged the focus of the tour via messages. Our tour focused on; How Kraków grew and how the Jewish Quarter of Kazimierz evolved. We also asked for attention to the architecture. Tomasz did all the above in detail and more. He is hugely knowledgeable, extremely polite and an all round nice guy. Our tour lasted 3hrs allowing us to delve into the things we were interested in, including getting some ifo on the best local food hot spots. I booked this tour for a group of 4 ladies on a city break. I wanted to get a sense of the city on our first night. The meeting point was easy to find and Tomasz was bang on time. The tour was peppered with interesting facts and history as well as answering the many questions we threw at him. I am all about the local experience when I travel and this tour couldn't have been more perfect. We learnt about the history of the city, some interesting random facts and got hot tips on where to get real polish food. This was the first time we had ever booked a private tour guide but we did so on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. + infectious enthusiasm. A grey, overcast day brought to sunny life by Maya. We had asked to see late 20th C buildings and developments, plus any examples of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Brutalism along the way. Some industrial archaeology would be a bonus. Boy, did she deliver! Maya had tested the route we took, the day before. A rapid pace meant we covered over 5 miles and it was non-stop detail from her as Krakow, off the main tourist track, came alive with it's recent history, dictated by Poland's political past, putting buildings into context. Government departments, university buildings, factories (now, mostly, redundant): it all "hit the spot". Then, to top it all off, a trip around the Jewish area. Exhausted but thoroughly pleased with our Hidden Gems guide. 'Bravo' Maya! A 'Gem' in her own right. An amazing depth & breadth of knowledge

Unfortunately we felt like Maya was not very interested in taking us to the tour. She was quiet most of the time and just answering the questions, not proactively speaking about the building and history, unless we asked about. We felt exausted for walking long distances without being entertained. Of course there were good moments but not enought to compensate the value we paid.Not so much energy

Tony and I met Alexsandra with no issues and set off on a learning and eating experience of Krakow. We talked about everything from families to politics and the way of life in Krakow. The main aim was to try all the traditional dishes of Poland. That we did. We ate a lot of food and tried everything offered. Rounded up with a vodka tasting. We booked a Krakow food tour with Aleksandra for our first day of a 10-day trip in Poland — it was a perfect introduction to the city’s food scene and Polish cuisine in general. Aleksandra is an incredibly knowledgeable guide who shared so much interesting information about Polish modern history, traditions and food culture. She took us to three different places - the first was for "starters" and vodka, the second was for the main meal (a very traditional one similar to what my Polish father would make) and we finished with a lovely cream cake at a small shop that brings the cake in daily from Pope John Paul II hometown nearby. My family of five enjoyed two tours with Aleksandra on the same day. First at 10am was the Schindler Museum Tour and Jewish Quarter, Aleksandra was amazing and has so much knowledge and information, it was a fantastic tour and we learnt so much more thanks to Aleksandra. We started the Polish Food tour at 5pm, again we all really enjoyed our time with Aleksandra and we learnt so much about local Polish cuisine and enjoyed the various Vodka and all the food that we ate.
