This was an excellent tour and Marta was a great guide. So informative. When we told her we were coming off a cruise ship she met us at the port. We saw lots of sights which places the cruise tours would not see including the National Bank with the Gaucho exhibition. We sampled local coffee and delicacies which was a great time to chat to Marta and find out more about Montevideo and Uruguay. As this was a private tour for two we had no problems hearing the guide or asking questions. It really helped that Mirta was so knowledgeable. A huge success and highly recommended. I asked Mirtha if she could combine Highlights & Hidden Gems with The 10 Tastings of Montevideo into one six hour tour for 4 adults. She put together a fantastic tour. She met us at the cruise port with a new 8 passenger van and driver. We toured the greater Montevideo area and the old town area while interspersing the 10 tastings. We enjoyed seeing the sights and getting lots of information on Uruguay’s history. Mirtha also answered all our other questions about Uruguay. It was a weekend so some of the sites were closed (probably best to pick a weekday) but we still had a very nice tour, and Mirtha gave us many tips on seeing other things. Very nice tour

We had a beautiful afternoon with Mirtha who is so enthusiastic to introduce newcomers to her city that she is so knowledgeable of. She is proud of her country and genuinely interested in local culture like world famous carnival season and doesn’t sugarcoat some of the more inconvenient truths of the past. We did a tour which included seeing, and in some cases visiting, a number of the most interesting buildings and attractions in Montevideo. Plaza Indepencia, Palacio Salvo, Ciudad Vieja, Mercado del Puerta, Taranco Palace Decorative Arts Museum. Martha was a fantastic guide. So interesting with such knowledge of the history of Uruguay and particularly Montevideo! She speaks English very well so we were able to absorb all the informative content she provided and all our questions were answered! Thanks Mirtha for a great insight into gorgeous Montevideo! Mirtha was fantastic! I reached out to Mirtha on relatively short notice and asked if she could customize our tour of the city to highlight the history and culture of the Afrouruguayan population here. She went above and beyond! She arranged for a local with expertise in Afrouruguayan history to join our tour and provide unique insights firsthand. She also arranged for us a private visit to a cultural center, where we were able to hear directly from a descendant of prominent Afrouruguayan community leaders. She made sure that we understood what we were hearing, offering Spanish interpretation when needed. The whole experience was so beautiful and enriching for us. Halfway through the tour, my colleague who was with me said to me, "I'm having the time of my life!" Mirtha provided a ton of personalized recommendations for us to explore while we are in Uruguay, and was gracious enough to take photos for us, which she sent to us immediately after the tour. This tour has been the absolute highlight of my time in Uruguay. If you want to get to know Montevideo, she is the person to guide you.Have the time of your life!

Mirtha planned great tasting samples of Uruguayan food & drink under difficult circumstances since she had to do it on a Sunday when many places are closed. She also took me to the important places to see in Montevideo & gave me the background & history. Since I had been here before she took that under consideration in making her choices. She was very adaptive since my husband was unwell that day & did not come with me for the tour as had been planned. She made it easy to locate her & her driver was very good.Lovely time in Montevideo

Mirtha introduced us to three special places in the food world of Montevideo, having us taste many specialities. The port market was delightful, so much so that we returned on our own the next day to the same place (which mixes many locals with the tourists). Mirtha also shared her local knowledge of other restaurants and sites not to be missed. We followed her advice and went to the Gaucho Museum, and Garcia where we finally had the steak that everyone raves about. All in all a very fun day and good and easy introduction to Montevideo and all it has to offer.Fun day exploring Uruguayan food and more

Mirtha created a custom tour from two tours (TenTastings and Highlights & Hidden Gems) for our group of 4 in Montevideo. Mirtha and our driver met us at the cruise terminal in a new 8 passenger van for the six hour tour. She gave us a tour of the greater Montevideo area, visited the highlights and included stops for tastings. The tasting were more like three meals. All the food was delicious. Mirtha was so smart. She shared her love for Uruguayan history in wonderful detail. She approached that history from multiple angles, including geography, early Uruguayan history, European influence, anthropology, psychology, art, music, culture, and more.
