We had excellent communication with juan before we met to tour Seville. He recommended a wonderful flamenco evening- very atmospheric and intimate- just what we wanted, also a cute little Tapas restaurant situated just round the corner. Juan was very knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful tour of the old town of Seville , including all the highlights and history. We had time to stop for coffee at a lovely cafe recommended by him. A delightful experience. Elena superbly guided us through some wonderful iconic sights, & hidden gems. It was terrific to share stories of our respective countries. Elena showed genuine curiosity & interest in our country, as we did hearing & learning from her. Given the heat in Seville, it was a welcome respite to visit the Convent & have lovely home- baked biscuits by the Nuns & have coffee in the nearby bar. Having Álvaro as our guide in Seville felt like a hidden gem we found. We had been in Seville for four days when we met up with Laura, so we had done a fair bit of walking in the old city, and also along the river in Triana. But Laura took us mostly to the northern, less touristy part of the old city, and we rambled from one beautiful Mudejar church to another, and talked about life in Seville, past and present. What it's like for Sevillanos, with growing tourism; the future fate of the historic old houses which are so expensive to restore; religious life, the involvement of young people in local fraternities and processions. It's so good to have a chance to talk to a local! And ask Laura about her PhD thesis on women in medieval life in Seville.... You'll have a really enjoyable experience.Extending our range in Seville
