We had a great tour. It was very educational both about the history of the city as well as how people live. Stopping to try typical Dutch food as a nice enhancement to our experience. Particularly enjoyed seeing areas of the city that were less busy and off the beaten track.Great way to experience the town

The tour guide was personable and knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed getting to know more about Utrecht. However the tour was listed as a “food tour” and it was not. The description read as follows: “A Feast of 10 Delicious Tastings. Curated by passionate local hosts, your journey through Utrecht includes an irresistible combination of 10 local food and drink tastings. Classic bites like the beloved stroopwafel and the iconic jenever await, alongside secret local favorites “ What we actually got was: Stop 1. A vacuum sealed herring with onions served on a park bench. Also at this stop was a miniature bottle of “Danje Knaller” that we were told to drink directly from the bottle. Not a local experience at all. Stop 2. Next we had a coffee and a Theo Blom chocolate. Stop 3. Last food stop was a craft brewery where we had a beer, beer cheese and a collection of frozen deep fried appetizers… spring rolls and mozzarella sticks. The above does not come close to a local feast. We didn’t even get the Stroopwafel that was prominently pictured. The tour was really a great walking tour with a little bit of food added. Given the price of 115 euros per person, it was poor value and we felt mislead. We tipped the guide well because of her knowledge and personality. But we would not recommend the tour. Not a food tour

On a beautiful sunny afternoon in November, Mariëlle guided us (three colleagues) through the centre of Utrecht. Mariëlle has a sparkling and very pleasant personality and is an incredible source of knowledge. Also her background and long experience in tourism adds to the experience and inspiring stories she shared with us. Even though I live in Utrecht, I have learned a lot. Since our tour I am looking at some of the places I must have passed already a 1000 times before in a very different way. Mariëlle is not only a very pleasant person to walk around town with, she also is very flexible and adaptive to the preferences of her audience. Edo is an incredible personality and an amazing guide! Sophisticated, knowledgable and super friendly. Highly recommended.
