Marcos gave us a great tour. He had difficult circumstances with the holiday and the power cut but coped with a smile and adapted the tour to suit us. Loved the history and the architecture. Marcos is easy to talk to and it felt more like a friend taking us around the city. He also sent us a load of information and photos afterwards which was helpful for our next few days. Only comment is that it would have been useful to know that some places were closed on a public holiday as we didn’t realise that and may have chosen a different day - but it was not a problem - only reason for a 9 not a 10. I really love Withlocals and try to use it whenever we are in a new city. Super Tour!

Too many our guides simply just tell you facts, such as the date of this building and the name of that building etc.; facts that one forgets within a few hours after the tour. Mimoza instead tells you what Valencia is about, tells you interesting stories about Valencia and explains the background about what you are viewing; stories that linger in the memory. The tour with Marcos was a highlight of València. We really enjoyed how engaging and knowledgeable Marcos was, the three hours flew by and we learned so much about the city. What a fantastic 3.5 hours. A superb teacher who brought the old and the new of Valencia to life. A history lesson, recommendations on where to go by ourselves and Spanish lessons for my daughter as we toured the highlights of this beautiful city. I felt very sorry for the packed generic tours .. whilst we had a totally bespoke tour catering to exactly what we wanted to learn, taste in the market and plan for other days. Valentin was fine. He knew his way around the city, the interesting sites to see, and so forth. That probably isn’t surprising, since he is a city guide! He was perfectly pleasant and we enjoyed the tour, but I’m sorry to say that he and tour were on the flat, without any spark of interest from him. The poor man had probably done the tour dozens and dozens of times. Unfortunately, that showed. With other tour guides, and we’ve been lucky enough to have had many over the years, there’s usually a better engagement and more warmth. That said, his communications were good and it was easy to meet him.An OK tour

We had a tour of Valencia with Mimoza today. With the Fallas Festival going on I’m sure that it made things difficult for Mimoza. But I have to say that she put on a fantastic tour. My wife and I both loved seeing Valence with Mimoza. Marcos introduced his beautiful city of Valencia to our group of six in October. He kindly met us at our hotel and showed us round some of the key sights and streets of the city plus a few lesser-known ones. The tour ran over by 30 minutes as he was so keen that we didn’t miss out on anything. He also texted info to us afterwards about restaurants and local transport that was very helpful. The pace of the tour was perfect and the history and knowledge he shared was pitch perfect - giving context, interest and colour to everywhere we visited. His English was excellent so we never struggled to understand. Marcos has such warmth and passion for Valencia that we also fell a little in love with the city. Marcos couldn’t have been more informative helpful or accommodating … great conversation … went well beyond the bounds to be helpful … my wife’s passion is paella and he lined us up with the very best paella in the universe at La Riva … he called ahead to get it started and even lined up a taxi after to meet outside the restaurant because we were on a tight windows to catch our train … 10 stars for Marcos !!Valencia and Paella
