Haq was a great guide. He tailored the tour to what we wanted and gave a good balance in overall history of Hiroshima as well as the bomb and consequences. We also were able to visit miyajima island which was a great contrast. He gave us a number of choices during the day and ran to get our train tickets and found snacks for dietary requirements. He also made it nearer to 6 hours rather than 5 to fit everything in. Overall highly recommended. Great knowledgeable guide

My wife and I were visiting Hiroshima for the first time and decided to do a day tour with Nabeel We found Nabeel to be an excellent guide with good insight into the history of the city. The added bonus was that Nabeel spike perfect English, so communicating was not a problem. As part of our tour we also did a great trip to Miyajima where Nabeel was able to steer us away from the tourists to visit an amazing Buddhist temple up on a hill- well worth the visit., If you are planning a visit to Hiroshima I would highly recommend taking a tour with Nabeel who took great care and was very flexible with the itinerary.Excellent day tour in Hiroshima

When I contacted Nabeel asking for a custom tour, he was very enthusiastic and excited, even when I mentioned the long list of places we wanted to visit! Challenge accepted! Nabeel worked with me in the weeks leading up to our holiday to plan an itinerary that worked. We were coming from Osaka for a day trip, so he met us at the train station. From there, Nabeel helped us navigate the trams, trains, boats and skyway to achieve our travel goals. He took us for a very detailed guided tour through the Peace Park, explaining points of interest and historical information. He bought us tickets to the museum and told us which floors / rooms would be best to visit given we only had limited time. Following the museum, he guided us to our archery experience (we booked this separately) and waited whilst we finished there. From there, we went to the ferry across to Miyajima Island - and what a shame we had such limited time. It was absolutely beautiful, we would have loved to stay longer here. Nabeel again had a lot of interesting information to share, and suggested we try the local oysters and the maple leaf pastry - both delicious. He ran up to the sky way and bought tickets for us as it was about to close. We made just in time and enjoyed the ascension to the top and the incredible view from up there. On the way back, Nabeel took some lovely photos of us with the Tori at dusk. What I also liked about Nabeels tour was that he spoke from the POV of a student living abroad. His insights into Japans culture as someone who had been living here for only four years was interesting. I highly recommend Nabeel. He was great with our 8 year old son - and by the time we got back to the train, our son was asking, “where’s Nabeel, isn’t he coming with us?”. Thank you Nabeel for a wonderful and insightful day. Considering how we were pressed for time during our tour - this day being our last full day before we flew out of Japan - we appreciate how Haq considered this and was kind enough to adjust our itinerary to accommodate our limited schedule. He was prompt in picking us up and knew small details about the destination enough to figure out how we can avoid delays and make the most of our tour. One of the reasons we made this last minute trip to Japan before our kids went back to school was to enjoy Japanese cuisine. And so we loved how Haq gave us great food suggestions especially the Okonomiyaki and oysters at Miyajima Island. Of course, our visit of the Peace memorial was an emotional one and it was made more meaningful by some stories and insights that Haq kindly shared with us. More than being a tour, it was also a time to reflect on the cost of war. We wish we had more time to appreciate Hiroshima but who knows? Maybe we can come back and if we do, we would request Haq to be our guide again. We will definitely recommend him to our friends back home who are interested in visiting Hiroshima.

We had a tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima with Ali, we absolutely loved it, his English is great and he shared great facts about all the places we visited. Miyajima was a highlight, he took us to a local restaurant and had lunch with us before getting us away from the regular tourist spots. He actually spent over two hours extra with us. Can’t recommend him highly enough. Such a different experience to Kyoto tour.Brilliant

We traveled from very far to learn and know a new and different culture. This guide was nice, but didn't know about the places we visited, he wasn't prepared to give us the experience we read in the application. He even didn't know where to go or who to get there. We lost time and we didn't get to know about the places we wanted. I didn't know of to move clear even in the tourist areas he kept checking is phone for directions. Bad experience

Our group was comprised of a family with young adults, midlifers and ‘elderlies’. So, beyond Haq’s knowledge of the city and excellent narrative, I appreciated his sense of his audience’s needs. Haq was fantastic. He got our tour last minute bc our original guide got the flu. He was very friendly and took us to the best food spots. We got to taste all the local favorites. Haq had made reservations for us and we even had spots waiting for us at places that don’t take reservations!! The food was amazing. Haq knows so much about the town and the culture. I was excited by the reviews Ali had, and seeing Hiroshima. But the experience was not what I expected - basically a rote memorization and recital of the plaques without any history or content of the city before the war. why it was chosen to be bombed, the feel and nature of the people. I had some additional knowledge from my reading he did not have. I think this is not necessarily and issue with Ali, but with all of the guides who are no "locals" and were not born there, lived there and have family there. Nice Guide, but not a local

Nabeel took us on a tour in Hiroshima. He took my husband and I to the Peace memorial museum and peace park. It was a truly moving experience. He also took us to some other memorials in the peace park that we would not have known were there if we had not done the tour. Nabeel was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the atomic history of Hiroshima. This tour is worth doing if you visit Hiroshima. Good tour

Haq was such a great tour guide. He was very patient with our mixed group of grandparents and kids. His knowledge is incredible and he takes the time to explain and leave space for questions. He promised the kids he would buy an ice cream if he couldn’t answer a question so they spent the whole time engaged and thinking through tricky questions for him. Ali led me and my husband through Hiroshima Peace Park and gave us context to what we were seeing. He gave very specific and useful information on restaurants and getting to Miyajima as painlessly as possible. We ended at Shukkeien garden, small and perfect with koi and turtles to feed...a light hearted end after a very somber start. We were a group of 4 travelling from Kyoto to Hiroshima for a few hours. Nabeel’s tour was just the right length for our experience so we booked him. Nabeel offered to meet us at the train station so we could all make our way to the starting point together - very kind and not expected! In terms of the time spent with him, Nabeel had the perfect balance of talking about the history of the tragedy as well as allowing time for reflection. Admittedly, the park and museum are confronting to say the least - Nabeel was perceptive of our needs as a group and this ensured an optimal pace throughout our 3 hours - we did not feel rushed or overloaded. I would highly recommend Nabeel. While you can self pace these experiences, we found having a personal guide as experienced as him meant that we could immerse ourselves, know what was important to look at and not lose track of time. We had a very nice tour with our tour guide Haq. We made a last minute booking via the website and we were able to get in touch with Haq very quick. We started at 16.00hr so he had to make some adjustments so that we were able to see everything. Haq has a lot of knowledge including fun facts so we got a very complete picture about the history of Hiroshima. Definitely recommended!Great tour and tour guide!

Haq is a fantastic guide. In 3 hours he brought us through all the main sites and explained the history and significance of each monument and location. He was able to explain why some people and buildings survived while all around didn’t. He has a great interest and curiosity about the history of Hiroshima and was able to correct many of the misconceptions I had about the bombing. It was also very interesting to hear him talk about his experiences of being a foreigner who has adopted Hiroshima as his home. Finally when parting, Haq gave us a suggestion for lunch - a fantastic street food vendor where we had one of our best meals in Japan. I can’t give his secret recommendation away. You’ll have to ask him yourself. Great knowledge, great insights

Haq was very knowledgeable, friendly and thoughtful during our Hiroshima tour. He went out of his way to make sure my 9 & 10 year old boys were learning along the way while being entertained. My wife and our two teenage daughters had a wonderful and somber day with our guide Haq. He shared local knowledge and background of Hiroshima as we embarked on our tour. We started our visit at the Gates of Peace memorial and continued to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. My teenage daughter commented on how he had great awareness of where each of us were and how patient he was in creating space for each of us to have our own experience navigating the memorial at our own pace. He provided a good narrative including off the beaten trail details that would not show up in a tour book. We had timely rest stops including a stop for salt algae ice cream which we would not have found on our own. We concluded our tour enjoying a local culinary favorite - okonomiyaki - which was delicious and the two women that ran the restaurant were warm and friendly. If you plan on visiting Hiroshima we recommend securing Haq as your tour guide for the day!!
