We really enjoyed our tour of Hiroshima with Haq. He was a very knowledgable guide and shared some interesting insights which helped us understand the context behind the atomic bomb and its aftermath, as well as other Japanese cultural and geopolitical issues. He was particularly patient with my daughters (13, 11, 5) and showed great flexibility and generosity when one of the girls felt unwell during the tour. He quickly adapted and offered to use his own car to make it more comfortable for us to continue the tour rather than cancelling. Well beyond the call of duty. I would happily recommend this tour (and Haq in particular). Great tour of Horoshima

Our group of four had a great day with Haq whilst visiting Hiroshima by cruise. Haq met us at the cruise terminal and allowed us to coordinate a tour with all the must-do’s of Hiroshima, including a ferry ride to Miyajima, tasting local delicacies, eating a traditional lunch of Okonomiyaki or Hiroshima-yaki as known by the locals! We travelled into town for an informative afternoon at the Hiroshima Peace Park, all at our own pace with expert local knowledge. I can highly recommend Haq, we highly recommend and would use him again if we were visiting Hiroshima.A must if travelling to Hiroshima!

After a lengthy unexpected delay getting off our ship Ali worked hard to reschedule our day. He reworked local transportation, got us through crowded sections of the Hiroshima memorial, had great insights to share with our group and finished our experience with a wonderful okinomiaki. We had a great time with Haq - the Peace Park, the Hiroshima castle and Miya-jima. We had a great meal of okonimiyaki and also learnt a lot from Haq along the way. The tour is much longer than 5 hours due to the fact that Miyajima is a train-ride away and there's a lot to see there, so keep that in mind when you decide what you'd like to prioritize seeing. Haq is very open to being flexible, which is great and the tour worked very well for our group, which was three people, but three generations - and everyone had a great time ! We really enjoyed our tour. Unfortunately, our plans were confused by restraints imposed by our cruise boat so a five or six hour tour had to be rearranged at the last minute. Our guide, Nabeel, was very accommodating and flexible and because the day was fine and sunny, we gave more time to parks and gardens than to castles and museums. Nabeel was informative, interesting and very responsive to our needs and interests. Altogether, a very positive experience. A great Afternoon in Hiroshima

The 5-hour tour to Hiroshima and Miyajima was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Haq was an incredible tour guide. He gave us an insightful history lesson about the events leading up to the bomb dropping and how Hiroshima rebuilt itself. He made the entire tour very interesting for our three kids (15, 13, 12), which isn't always easy to do! He was flexible with the trip and was able to adjust the times due to our train schedule, which we appreciated. He took us off the beaten path to try local foods and point out interesting places on the tour, which we all enjoyed. We have used WithLocals and other countries, and we have always had a wonderful experience with our guides. 10/10!! Loved every minute of this tour!

Haq was a great guide. He tailored the tour to what we wanted and gave a good balance in overall history of Hiroshima as well as the bomb and consequences. We also were able to visit miyajima island which was a great contrast. He gave us a number of choices during the day and ran to get our train tickets and found snacks for dietary requirements. He also made it nearer to 6 hours rather than 5 to fit everything in. Overall highly recommended. Great knowledgeable guide

My wife and I were visiting Hiroshima for the first time and decided to do a day tour with Nabeel We found Nabeel to be an excellent guide with good insight into the history of the city. The added bonus was that Nabeel spike perfect English, so communicating was not a problem. As part of our tour we also did a great trip to Miyajima where Nabeel was able to steer us away from the tourists to visit an amazing Buddhist temple up on a hill- well worth the visit., If you are planning a visit to Hiroshima I would highly recommend taking a tour with Nabeel who took great care and was very flexible with the itinerary.Excellent day tour in Hiroshima

When I contacted Nabeel asking for a custom tour, he was very enthusiastic and excited, even when I mentioned the long list of places we wanted to visit! Challenge accepted! Nabeel worked with me in the weeks leading up to our holiday to plan an itinerary that worked. We were coming from Osaka for a day trip, so he met us at the train station. From there, Nabeel helped us navigate the trams, trains, boats and skyway to achieve our travel goals. He took us for a very detailed guided tour through the Peace Park, explaining points of interest and historical information. He bought us tickets to the museum and told us which floors / rooms would be best to visit given we only had limited time. Following the museum, he guided us to our archery experience (we booked this separately) and waited whilst we finished there. From there, we went to the ferry across to Miyajima Island - and what a shame we had such limited time. It was absolutely beautiful, we would have loved to stay longer here. Nabeel again had a lot of interesting information to share, and suggested we try the local oysters and the maple leaf pastry - both delicious. He ran up to the sky way and bought tickets for us as it was about to close. We made just in time and enjoyed the ascension to the top and the incredible view from up there. On the way back, Nabeel took some lovely photos of us with the Tori at dusk. What I also liked about Nabeels tour was that he spoke from the POV of a student living abroad. His insights into Japans culture as someone who had been living here for only four years was interesting. I highly recommend Nabeel. He was great with our 8 year old son - and by the time we got back to the train, our son was asking, “where’s Nabeel, isn’t he coming with us?”. Thank you Nabeel for a wonderful and insightful day. Considering how we were pressed for time during our tour - this day being our last full day before we flew out of Japan - we appreciate how Haq considered this and was kind enough to adjust our itinerary to accommodate our limited schedule. He was prompt in picking us up and knew small details about the destination enough to figure out how we can avoid delays and make the most of our tour. One of the reasons we made this last minute trip to Japan before our kids went back to school was to enjoy Japanese cuisine. And so we loved how Haq gave us great food suggestions especially the Okonomiyaki and oysters at Miyajima Island. Of course, our visit of the Peace memorial was an emotional one and it was made more meaningful by some stories and insights that Haq kindly shared with us. More than being a tour, it was also a time to reflect on the cost of war. We wish we had more time to appreciate Hiroshima but who knows? Maybe we can come back and if we do, we would request Haq to be our guide again. We will definitely recommend him to our friends back home who are interested in visiting Hiroshima.

We had a tour of Hiroshima and Miyajima with Ali, we absolutely loved it, his English is great and he shared great facts about all the places we visited. Miyajima was a highlight, he took us to a local restaurant and had lunch with us before getting us away from the regular tourist spots. He actually spent over two hours extra with us. We traveled from very far to learn and know a new and different culture. This guide was nice, but didn't know about the places we visited, he wasn't prepared to give us the experience we read in the application. He even didn't know where to go or who to get there. We lost time and we didn't get to know about the places we wanted. I didn't know of to move clear even in the tourist areas he kept checking is phone for directions. Bad experience

I usually do not rate tours that high or write good reviews if I not truly believe the tour deserves it. However, this one was great! We had a wonderful 3 hour walking tour with Haq. Her speaks great English. He was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. His tour is very interactive and interesting. Haq gave us many details that we would have never known had we not listened to his historical references. He kept my 20 and 18 year old sons’ as well as my husband and my attention the whole three hours! So interesting! We visited all the important monuments in Peace Memorial Park. Although we had rain on and off throughout the day we made the best of it. Nabeel our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable. We started at the peace memorial museum and park, very powerful, then walked to the dome building, a ruin from the atomic bomb. Then headed to the Island of Miyajima Island to visit the torii gate in the water and Itsukushima shrine. Haq was a terrific guide for our food tour. Hiroshima has so many food options but we asked him to preference those foods that Hiroshima was known for. His local knowledge was invaluable and each course was delivered with an informative dialogue. We ended our tour in the Peace Memorial Park and his knowledge of WW11 and the A-bomb was incredible.
