Eleni did a great job of taking us near many of the monument sites while giving us a ton of background info of the history and current status's of what we were seeing. She gave us a view of the area that you couldn't get without a local's help. We also got to experience a Sunday Market area and Flea Market area that the locals spend their Sunday day off enjoying. A perfect way to get to know the area, with a great local expert.Great walk through the monuments and city

Wir waren mit Eleni drei Stunden entlang der wesentlichen Ausgrabungsstätten und in der Plaka in Athen unterwegs. Es ging viel durch die Natur, dann durch kleine, beschauliche Gässchen und wir waren die ganze Zeit recht weit weg vom Touristentrubel. We had a great time exploring Athens with Elina. From the beautiful ancient history up to modern times, she has a huge wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. In the middle of our tour, we found out our flight to Paros was cancelled so she brought us to a travel agent and helped with our ferry tickets and taxi. We are delighted we took this tour with Elina and would highly recommend her! Fantastic time

Dionysis, who stood in for Eleni, mixed a perfect afternoon with information, history, fun stories and everything we wanted to know about Athens. Time went by quickly, but we were able to see all the necessary places. This tour is a good start when you are in Athens for the first time and when you want to know where to go next. If you've never been to Athens (and even if you have) you should do this tour! In a few short hours, we covered all of the major sites of Athens on foot...and even discovered some hidden gems that many locals don't know about. Eleni gave us troves of information and even personalized our tour to include a walk through the central market and down Evripidou Street, known for its spice shops. Incredible overview of Athens!

The tour with Eleni was very nice because she knows a lot of information about Athens. She could answer all our questions and provided us with usefull hints for our stay (life of locals, tourism, restaurants for dinner). Eleni's speaking english was well, but unfortunately it was sometimes very loud in the streets and we could not understand her. Reaching the end of the tour she somehow seemed to loose her enthusiasm.Great and informative tour through Athens

We chose this tour because we only had 12 hours in Athens and wanted to make sure we got a good flavor of the highlights. Elenis tour did exactly that. She was informative, friendly and answered all of our questions. She even coordinated a pickup and drop off for us from the airport so we had one less thing to worry about (Her friend Fanis was awesome!!) This is a great tour if you're looking to do a quick stop in Athens and don't want to miss the highlights of the city. Great summary of the highlights of Athens!

We meet Eleni in the centre of Athens. Tour took a bit over 4h but that's because we had some lovey chats and stopped midway for coffee. Speaking of that, the tour was really enjoyable precisely because it didn't feel like an industrial tour - might more intimate and discrete. We saw some amazing street art, some beautiful views of Athens. Throughout the tour Eleni was providing commentary on the history both recent and ancient of the areas we were visiting. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone curious to visit off-beats Athens whilst still keeping track of major places. Word of caution - lots of walking involved and take some water with you.Amazing tour of Athens

Eleni lead my family, including 2 18 year olds and 2 16 year olds to see important and interesting places in the areas around the Acropolis and the plaka. She was knowledgeable and interesting and kept the whole group listening and going even after a very long day. At the end, she found us a couple of restaurants that might work and we ended our evening with a great dinner. I highly recommend touring with Eleni. Overall the tour itself was just okay- a bit disappointing, actually. We were so excited about this tour and were really looking forward to the personalized and more intimate experience of hiring a tour guide from withlocals. I sent a message a month in advance to let our guide know a bit about us and our goals/interests for the tour and never heard back. I reached out again a couple days in advance through the website and finally heard back. However, when we were on the tour, it really didn’t seem like our guide read anything I wrote. The tour wasn’t personalized at all and honestly it lacked energy and enthusiasm. The time spent walking between locations was in silence whereas most tours I’ve been a part of the guide takes that time to tell stories or preface us with information for the next location we will be seeing. I will say, we definitely learned a lot about architecture and a little bit about the history of Athens and Athens’ occupiers which was so fascinating and I would have loved to learn more. I love history and hearing stories about past events, sadly, what history we did learn was spotty and disjointed which made it hard to put the pieces together. We enjoyed getting some lemonade near the foot of the Acropolis and hearing a bit more about our guide’s life and some details on modern Athens. I really don’t mean to be too harsh because our guide was a kind person but the tour wasn’t at all what we were expecting based on the descriptions on the website and the price.Athens Hidden Gems Tour
