Lucien was on time- easy to understand and even used French when I asked - to practice my French language. He showed me all the most interesting parts of the market and helped me find a few presents that I was searching for. He was fun, interesting and provided a lot of info on the history of the area and the market. He helped me buy my metro ticket as the machine was broken and made sure I got on the right train to my hotel. Super guide!

The Paris Saint-Oeun flea market can be overwhelming! In fact, my husband and I have bern there many times. Our tour with Lucien made all the difference! He’s smart and interesting as well as flexible. He helped us find a beautiful, hand-carved statue of the Virgin Mary … even though his speciality is a market overview rather than finding specific items. Wonderful tour! Flea Market with Lucien!

Lucien was friendly knowledgeable and an overall joy to be around. He was more than accommodating when we ended up at the wrong Notre Dame church and ended up, adjusting our meeting point to where we ended up on the metro. The flea market in Paris is very large, and can be overwhelming, but he guided us to all of the right booths and, at the same time, gave us an overall history of Paris. He went at our pace and did a great job of showing us all of the hidden treasures that we would not have normally been able to find on our own. Lucien was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. He has a passion for history which made it even more interesting. The markets are pretty cool. The market is not in Paris which I did not realize when I booked but we used Uber to and fro and it was fine. Trains are also available. We ate at a cute cafe after the tour.-there are a few to choose from. There is everything! My daughter bought a cool jacket for 8 euro and there was designer clothes for far more. Beautiful antiques and furniture and junk too! There is a lot to see and it was a great day! Fun and interesting

We very much enjoyed meeting Lucien, and of course the flea market is a must-see. Our only issue was that the tour was not customized as advertised. We mentioned several times that we would prefer to visit the parts of the market where prices were lower. After about 90 minutes we did do so, but only after touring the rest of the market.
Also, Lucien tells you at the outset that he will speak French to the vendors but will not bargain for you, which was a surprise.
This is a good tour if you want to see the market but not necessarily if you want to shop for a particular thing. Pre-planned itinerary

Lucian is knowledgeable and passionate with Paris history and local areas.
We booked a tour at the Flea market, which was a great and different experience for us thanks to Lucian.
He pointed us to different stores and objects which we probably wouldn’t discover by ourselves, and he turned the tour to an educative and valuable for us.
Lucian is a very nice and intelligent person and we enjoyed spending the time with him in conversation and learning.
Lucian is a certified tour guide and is doing different tour types in Paris. We will contact Lucian next time we are in Paris for a different tour.

We had a great time with Lucien at the Flea Market. The man knows so much about everything Paris - it was really a treat to spend time with him. The only downside was we went on a Monday, and although the Flea Market ostensibly runs Sat-Mon, I would say more than half the stalls were closed. There was still much to see, although I got the sense that many of the better quality shops were not open. Lucien rocks but go on the weekend!

Lucien was the perfect guide for this market! My teen daughter is into vintage and really wanted to go to this market. These markets are not my thing and I was concerned about getting lost and also not being able to find what we wanted. Lucien lives close by and comes here often, so he could easily point out wonderful hidden galleries and, for instance, that the historical post cards in one gallery were six times as expensive as some similar items in another.
Lucien specializes in historical paper artifacts (maps, books, postcards) and also shared much interesting information about classic French children’s toys and books. If you are looking for household or fashion items (vintage designer purses, silverware, furniture, Limoges) he can take you to where you’ll find them but (as he is forthcoming about in his tour description) he does not have expertise in these (though he will help you get the right price).
Lucien’s English is excellent and we loved this tour. He also texted us after the tour with suggestions of where to find items that my daughter was looking for that weren’t at the market. Absolutely lovely guide and worth the price. Excellent tour

Lucien gave us a fine tour, sharing his extensive knowledge about the occupation of Paris by the Nazis in WWII. He was on time, well-informed and polite. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to speak a bit slower for our American ears! We loved Lucien!

We enjoyed our day with Lucien immensely! He was flexible in our meeting time and place and created an itinerary that worked with the rest of our plans in Paris so that we didn’t have overlap. After meeting us and chatting for a while, he also took us to some spots not originally discussed because he thought we would appreciate them. Lucien is an incredible tour guide with a broad knowledge base .It was my son's first trip to Paris and Lucien did an incredible job of showing us around the beautiful city. Lucien proved once again to be an erudite and amiable guide, taking me on a walk from le Jardin du Luxembourg to l’Hôtel de Ville following the path of some of the fighting from August 19th 1944 until the 26th with interesting details of what occurred - and pointing out many bullet holes and shrapnel holes in some famous buildings. He has the ability to bring history alive and explore small details that make the events more real - and to take you on some interesting diversions along the way. Thanks to Lucien for a very informative walk around the Right Bank exploring some of the places that played a part in Napoléon’s life in Paris from La Palais Royal to La Madeleine. We booked Lucien for our visit to the Lourve, and we definitely found the right person! We were late and Lucien was able to get us in quickly which was amazing! He was very enthusiastic about everything in the Lourve, our 2.5 hours tour was way too short! Lucien gave us a very interesting and informative tour which was exactly what we were looking for! My daughter is 11 years old and she thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Lucien was very easy going, he was happy to show us the sections that we were more interested in (which was not in the itinerary). Lucien took my two teenage sons on his tour. Both are studying Napoleon for 'A' level. They were riveted by the experience, finding Lucien to be an informed, amusing, engaged and engaging guide. Although we had communicated in advance that we were going to be late, and called Lucien several times while we were en route, asking him to please wait for us, he did not wait. He made a judgment that there would not be sufficient time for a good tour. We believe it was up to us to decide if a shorter tour was still worth it. We had paid in full for three hours of his time, and we expected at least the remaining hour and a half. We are very disappointed that he did not wait for us. We have requested a partial refund. My name is Lucien and I have been a professional guide since 2017 . I have been a school teacher for a short time before, I wanted to continue to share my passion about history and nice things... and now I am a "guide conferencier" : I am an licenced guide and I can guide you in museums and everywhere you want in Paris.
I can guide you to the Louvre for exemple or to the other museums in Paris ( as long I prepared them).
I would certainly like to tell you everything I know about the history of Paris! In fact, it will be hard to stop me.
I like to say I am in a typical parisian : big mouth, complains a lot but of course eventually very charming.
I prefer to talk about Paris behind the postcard : the reallity of a life in a complicated city, the complex history of my country...And I won't be very good if you are only looking for fancy things and fashion!
I am more specialized in the medieval center: I can do tours like the Île de la Cité; the Latin quarter ; Les Halles; Le Maris ; Saint Germain des Prés, Montmartre; a bunch of other stuff. . . But I also like to go to the flea market in St Ouen (I live nearby).
I can guide you in the Louvre, and the Invalides and I can prepare other museums if you have a specific request.

I do all my sightseeing on foot. I don't have a vtc license: please don't ask me to drive you! But if you really want I can find a private driver, but I think that in Paris the best is always to walk during my tours.
I am happy to adapt my work to children but I am not a babysitter. I'm not a personal shopper, but I'll be happy to recommend some places. I'm not really a foodie, but I know a lot of delicious restaurants and can recommend a lot.
I am a professional full time freelance licenced guide : I am very proud of my work. I really try to do the best I can for the guest and to personalise everything I can. This is why I prefer sometimes to refuse to do a tour if I don't have time enough to prepare or if I realise I won't be good for the subject that is requested!
In addition, in the interest of our customers, I prefer not to include any tickets. For exemple I will be super happy toshwo you the Louvre but I will ask you to buy the tickets for you in advance! Withlocals is not a travel agency and cannot sell the tickets.
Important detail: Withlocals lets the guide decide what to do in this situation so I commit here to respect what I write here:
- in case of delay of the client I would like to be very clear, I do not wait more than 30 minutes without having received news from the withlocal chat and any refund will be refused.
- if you notify me of your delay it is imperative to do it by the chat of Withlocals, or by sms (preferably by whatsapp), in any case in writing.
I can adapt if it is possible and do not worry I always look for a solution: the tour can be shortened, or even rescheduled later if possible.
In case of absence on my part, the client will be entitled to a full refund of course. This is a rare situation but I always prefer to cancel a tour if I am sick or too late rather than the client having a bad time.
In case of a problem on my part I always try to contact the client in advance if it is possible, first on the withlocals chat, then by text or whatsapp, then by making a call.
When I can't come I always try to get a replacement for me with a competent guide that I trust. When a replacement is possible the tour will not be considered refundable.
