My wife and I booked Ellie for a 4 hour driving tour of Barcelona. Ellie was great to see the Beira from Montjuic Mountain, Olympic Stadium the Sagrada Familia was truly amazing. Ellie explained the wonderful history behind Antoni Gaudí architecture and design of numerous buildings across Barcelona. The tour we had with Ellie was exceptional. It was our first time in Europe and she knew the best locations to visit on our 4 hour tour. Ellie had so much history and information on Barcelona which she was able to share with us(not sure if we could retain it all). Ellie met us promptly and took us on a fabulous tour of Barcelona. She is locally based with 27 years of living in Barcelona. She coordinated with a driver who provided a comfortable vehicle and expert driving around the city. Ellie has great insights into the history and current affairs of the city and country. Ellie was one of the best tour guides we have encountered. Her knowledge of Barcelona was impressive, especially Gaudi and the many types of architecture. And her vivid descriptions at the Sagrada Familia were so interesting! She obviously loves her adopted city, which we always appreciate. Ellie did an amazing job sharing her wonderful hometown of Barcelona with our family. The six of us ranged from 15yo to 82 yo and she kept us all captivated. Her stories were wonderfully entertaining and gave us a great start to understand this beautiful city. She was able to easily deviate from her routine and follow what we were finding interesting. We had the pleasure of touring Barcelona in September 2018 with Ellie. Our tour was a terrific combination of historical and fun sites with excellent commentary to help us understand the significance of each site. Ellie has a wealth of information and as she originates from the U.S., her perspective and information about this beautiful city (and country) is a perfect blend of both local and outside views. Ellie took time to explain the sites we would visit and was very open to changes based on our desires and previous experiences. She also had recommendations for nearby cities to visit other than Barcelona (e.g. Girona and Tossa de Mar) which we toured and enjoyed very much. Our "ride" was a nice Mercedes and the entire experience was down to earth, yet first class. We highly recommend Ellie for an educational and fun Barcelona visit. She's a keeper!Barcelona Fun!

Ellie was right on top of making sure our tour was great from the beginning. As an experienced tour guide living in Barcelona for over 20 years she knew the history, the places that were must see and arranged everything for our multigenerational family of 5. We booked a walking tour with Ellie pretty late the night before we wanted to meet with her for a tour. We sent her a couple of questions about the tour and was hoping she'd see the questions before we planned out the day prior to our meeting. She contacted us promptly the next morning, answered the questions and set up the meeting. She was very vigilant in making sure we were all together, had great, up-front views of the buildings, and were protected from some of the distractions around the city. Not only was her tour of Gaudi's architectures very in-depth but the way she weaved the back stories lent life and character to his works. Rather than seeing just a building, we saw Gaudi's emotion, dreams, and his reality in the works of art. After this tour, I have a much greater appreciation for Gaudi's work and life's work. Ellie was great in making sure all of our teen and pre-teenagers were included in the tour and could see what she was describing. Her knowledge of city of Barcelona, the Catalan culture, the rich history was remarkable and her unique point of view was refreshing. She took a genuine interest in our background so as to better be able to relate Gaudi's story in a way that we could better relate and understand. I would highly recommend a tour with Ellie. She has an admirable passion for her trade and is a library of wonderful knowledge. My only wish was that I could stay in Barcelona longer so that I could take other tours with Ellie. My wife and I recently spent some time with Ellie strolling around the Sagrada Família. It was a wonderful tour. Ellie was professional and clearly very knowledgeable about the Basílica and its architect, Antoni Gaudí. Along the way, we also leaned much about Catalan culture and Barcelona itself. Ellie provided insight on what to expect and look for once inside the Basílica. From our external tour, she clearly broke down all the comprehensive (and staggering) symbolism that makes up the exterior of the church. We had a good time on our tour with Ellie. She was kind and the kids enjoyed the sticker scavenger hunt with the prize at the end and snack along the way. (Kids ages 2/5/7) we liked learning the history of gaudi. I know time is limited on the tour, but I wish we did go inside the Sagrada familia at the end of the tour or into one of the other structures.Gaudi walking tour

On the heels of a 2024 trip to Italy with its many famous cathedrals and basilicas, we came to Barcelona with modest expectations for a visit to Sagrada Familia.
