Matteo was an excellent guide with a great sense of humour. We really enjoyed his vast knowledge of the paintings and the history of the city. He took the time to explain details of the art that we would have otherwise missed. Matteo was also extremely helpful recommending restaurants, bars and specific shops. My family and I had a very enjoyable 3 hours with Mara. She was chatty, friendly and fun, and did a great job of asking us lots of questions so she could tailor our tour. Giuly was wonderful, but we had children, aged 7 & 10, and the tour was difficult for them. I think accommodations need to be made if children are in the mix. There was an amazing amount of information, and Giuly was warm and lovely, but it was just overwhelming for the little ones.

We had the most lovely tour with Alessandra— you should absolutely book with her! She is a warm and knowledgeable host who knows all the ins and outs of Florence. She joined my family of two parents and two teenage girls and took us into an area I would not have found. It was like seeing all of the local spots buried in a touristy area - beautiful! We loved visiting a few old churches (with incredible frescoes and histories to enjoy), and squares, and got to take in a beautiful view, as well as some modern art. After learning that we are avid readers, she found a lovely bookshop/cafe for us to relax and cool down with a coffee and snack - we were the only Americans there, which I can’t say about anywhere else we have visited! She also found us some tickets to a classical music concert for that evening, AND dropped us off at a wonderful trattoria (again- local!) for lunch. She really tailored the day to what we wanted. We learned so much and enjoyed the pleasure of Alessandra’s good company the entire time. Have a wonderful time on your tour with Alessandra!Go enjoy a morning with Alessandra!

Three of us really enjoyed our time with Matteo. He took note of our preference to concentrate on lesser known/quieter streets & areas (as we’d visited the hot spots on previous trips). Breakfast venue was great as was market experience, enabling us to taste food as we went. His knowledge of art/history/architecture is extensive but he made everything accessible and fun and finished with great restaurant recommendations. We planned for a half day tour with Giulia in Florence. The day before the tour Trenetalia announced that there was going to be a rail strike. We scrambled for a driver and got to Florence much later than expected. Giulia was in touch with us the whole ride in. She calmed me down, told me not to worry and managed to get us to our meeting place in time for our tour of the Accademia Gallery. And that was all before meeting her! She whisked us into the museum and gave us one of the best museum tours I have ever had! She was so knowledgeable, interesting, engaging and open for all questions. Her lead up to seeing the David was amazing! She then took us to a great cafe- Twist Bistrot - for coffee and a snack -yum! She talked to us about what she had in mind for the tour and then asked us what we wanted to do. She showed us all the ‘must-see’ sights and then walked us around, giving insightful history and fun facts about the sights and Florence in general. This was my third visit to Florence and I’ve never learned so much in such a fun way! She also answered 500 questions we had about all sorts of things. We ended up at a fantastic gelato place (better than the advertised best gelato in the world’ place in San Gimignano!) feeling like we knew so much about Florence, Italy and Giulia! I felt like we made a new friend for life! I highly recommend the Highlights of Florence tour and Giulia!Wonderful day in Florence with Giulia!

Mateo was professional from start to finish. We were a group of friends, some of us had been to Florence before and some for the first time. We wanted to explore the city with an expert guide, someone who had the inside track on not just the most popular spots, but also those hidden gems which only a city with the history of Florence can offer. Alessandra was an amazing guide with whom we spent the entire day. She knew when we needed a coffee break, just to rest the feet for a bit. She also took us to an amazing local restaurant where the pasta was absolutely delicious and only €7 a head. There were so many interesting sights, including a rooftop view of the city from an ancient tower, a boutique perfumery which was originally run by Dominican friars and several frescoes and paintings in small churches you would never find yourself. I can really recommend Alessandra if you want to delve into this historic city. A wonderful day exploring Florence
