We had two great tours with Garen, the sightseeing tour and food tour. Communication was good from start to finish, and she had lots of information about the Taiwanese culture. It was almost too much information to process. We really liked the places she took us to, and felt we got to see a lot and keep a relaxing pace at the same time. She even gave us recommendations for lunch where the tour finished, and it was one of the best things we ate on our trip. Very informative tour

Daphne guided us around Taipei for three-plus hours and the time flew by. She took us to several spots we would not have found on our own. Daphne was personable, engaging, informative, and insightful. She gave restaurant and bar suggestions, and talked about Taiwanese history, religion, and culture. Agnes is a beautiful soul. We had such a wonderful time with her, and truly felt we were experiencing a slice of local life. Given the current state of world affairs, she answered our questions about Taiwanese politics and history with honesty and empathy. After 5 days of searching for a bookshop, she went out of her way to find one for us(and got the Mother in Law a discount!). Following instructions from Daphne, we met at our rendezvous after a short trip on the MRT. We simply bought a day pass at the booth and used it during our tour. We had a thorough and informative talk about the dictator Chiang Kai-shek while walking through the park. We visited the old town and stopped for a beer near the river before continuing our tour of the Lungshan Temple and ending our tour. Daphne was very knowledgeable, easy to understand and very patient when waiting for us to inspect local crafts and stalls. We would highly recommend her as a guide.Taiwan (not on our own)

She gave us a great overview, introduced to regional politics and history and showed us practical things, ranging from where to find bathrooms to how to use the MRT. We had a great day with Garen. She was excited that we had chosen a history and culture tour with her rather than her typical food tours. She was extremely passionate about sharing Taiwan with us and gave us an unfiltered overview of her country's past, present, and future. It was our first day in Taiwan so beyond introducing us to their history, Garen also show us how to navigate the metro and busy market streets and ended with a meal of amazing braised pork rice at a restaurant we couldn't have found on our own. We had a great historical tour with Garen. We learnt a lot about the history, politics and culture of Taiwan in a short space of time. Even though she covered a lot of substance, it wasn’t heavy as Garen made it fun and interesting with use of stories and fun facts. A perfect introduction for first time visitors to Taipei and Taiwan. She customised the tour - which she did in Cantonese and English to suit my family - and also took great care of my mum in her 70s, making the walking route easy for her. Daphne provided an outstanding tour of Taipei, making my first visit to Taiwan an enriching and memorable experience. Her extensive knowledge of Taipei and Taiwan's culture brought each location to life, and I appreciated her willingness to tailor the tour to my interests. At the delightful tea shops, she patiently allowed extra time for me to explore, taste, and eventually select a beautifully fragrant Taiwanese tea – a challenging choice, given the variety! As a vegetarian, I was especially grateful for her helpful tips on ordering in restaurants and finding vegetarian options at the night market. Daphne’s tour also revealed some fascinating “hidden secrets” of Taipei, little gems that only a local would know – but you’ll need to take her tour to discover these for yourself! She even took the time to teach me how to navigate the subway, making me feel more comfortable exploring on my own afterward. Her additional recommendations for things to do and see post-tour were much appreciated as well. If you wanted a friend you never knew you had in Taipei. Garen is the one. Garen was great and filled with knowledge of the area. So many places we would not have seen if it was not for Garen and her grasp of the Taiwan culture. She made our first day in Taipei memorable. Filled with sites and great memories. Her food tasting tour was delicious and amazing. We tasted foods we would not think to eat and each one was better than the next. The fruit. Street food and restaurant. Truly AMAZING! We did not feel rushed and her secret places were not crowded. My husband, Jeff and I thoroughly enjoyed Garen's tour. It was pouring rain all day and she managed to give us the best tour without getting soaking wet! I was amazed! Garen was fantastic! My wife and I only had a short amount of time in Taipei and we are so glad we decided to do this tour with Garen. She was fantastic, took care of us, she was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, made sure we were comfortable in the heat, taylored the content to suit our interests and was a pleasure to interact with!! It was the best bang for our buck, there is no way we could have learned so much about this beautiful city without her.
